Maths

We lift up and his Maths exam to the Lord this day, asking for His peace and clarity of mind to rest upon him. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Father God, we ask that You would calm any nerves or anxiety that may be feeling as he sits for his exam. Grant him focus and understanding as he works through each question. May he recall all that he has studied and apply it with wisdom. We pray that You would guide his thoughts and help him to do his very best, trusting in You for the outcome.

We also pray for Your strength and encouragement to surround him, reminding him that his worth is not defined by his performance on this exam, but by who he is in Christ. Help him to lean on You and to trust in Your plans for his future.

Lord, we ask that You would bless with a spirit of excellence and diligence, not only in his studies but in all areas of his life. May he grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man, just as Jesus did (Luke 2:52).

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We’re thinking of you and your son as he sits his maths exam today, both morning and afternoon sessions make for a long, focused day. It’s natural to feel that knot of concern as a parent; you want so much for him to stay calm, to remember what he’s studied, and to do well. Even in a simple exam, we can find ourselves holding our breath, and we can entrust that care to God, who delights in being with us in ordinary, pressured moments.

We won’t pile on advice you haven’t asked for, but maybe you could do one small thing: as his exam times get under way, pause for a quiet minute where you are. Not with frantic pleading, just a deep breath and a release, placing him and his efforts into God’s hands, trusting that whatever the outcome, he is held. Sometimes that small act quietens our own hearts and reminds us we’re not carrying the burden alone.

We also remember that a parent’s steady, loving presence, even from a distance, can be a quiet strength. Simply knowing you’re rooting for him with prayer and not with pressure likely means more than he’s told you. So we join you now, and we pray:

Father, thank you that you are with this son in the exam room right now. Settle his nerves, clear his mind, and help him to work through each problem with steady focus. Give him the gift of recall and the grace to do his best. And for this mom or dad who waits and cares, grant a deep peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

How graciously you turn to the Lord in the midst of this ordinary but anxious hour. A son with his mind upon figures and problems, and a mother with her heart upon the throne of grace, this is a picture that well pleases our heavenly Father. Let this be a day not only of examination for your boy, but of supplication for you. Take the prayer of Jacob as your model, and go at once to Infinite Wisdom, pleading the promise that if any lack wisdom, it shall be given liberally. You need not craft a long petition; a sigh heaved toward the God of all grace, a whispered cry for calmness of spirit, clearness of thought, and recollection of what has been studied, will ascend as incense.

Yet remember, the highest use of prayer is not that a sum be rightly answered, but that a soul be rightly stayed. Pray that in the quiet of that exam room, your son may know the peace of being covered by divine care, and that whether success or disappointment come, he may learn to trust the Lord in all things. Such intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears, for it is of the very nature of Christ’s own pleading. Pour out your heart, then, not chiefly for a result, but for grace, that the Lord would quicken his mind and keep his spirit, working in him that which is well-pleasing in His sight.

Be not anxious if the answer tarries, for prayer, mighty prayer, will yet prevail if it has but time. And should the day bring what you did not desire, still let your prayer be in the calamity, as David said, for the Lord’s purposes are inscrutable, yet always wise. In the meantime, let this be your quiet confidence: the Father who hears in secret knows the need of this morning and of the afternoon, and He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think. I shall join my petitions with yours, that your son may have a clear head and a trusting heart, and that you both may prove afresh that the Lord is a very present help in trouble, even the little trouble of a mathematics paper.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You run after the learning of the future, and this anxiety about the morning and the afternoon disfigures the soul more than any disease withers the body. The race of man is greedy for what is to come, but He has told you all things necessary, that you should not meet them without warning. Why stir up the mire with such eager questioning? This very toil for the dew of a moment is like the brickmaking of Egypt; it scourges the soul far more grievously than any weal on the back. If you will groan and look up to God, He sends His own Word and compunction, freeing from this bitter slavery of anxious thought.

Consider the great strength of His love. He who is without beginning, the Infinite Majesty, loved those who are but dust and ashes, full of sins, and gave His Only-begotten Son for ungrateful slaves. No one shows such anxiety for his own child as God did for His servants. Will He not then care for your son in these small matters, when teachers themselves stand more in need of mercy? The profit you seek in earthly honor among beholders is the occasion of another destruction, lifting up to arrogance. For the things of this world are not in their essence evil, but through a man’s intention they make him unclean. Let your son eat of his labors, asking no question about the outcome, for even he that eats in ignorance may be rid of anxiety.

That beauty of a tranquil soul is ever blooming, ever in its prime. No desponding anxiety disfigures it, no old age brings a wrinkle. It was not merely by words that the Apostle was instructed, but he had Christ speaking within him. So pray that the revelation enlighten your son’s whole soul, that he may be conscious of no evil, fruitful in good, looking upon the sun itself without suspicion. A life lived in perpetual fear and trembling is a horrid death. But the Spirit foretells all things so that you may abide in thorough security and liberty.
