Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my daughter and her husband’s marriage. Things are bad right now and they have 2 young children. Please pray they return to church and work things out.

We join with you in lifting up your daughter and her husband and their precious young children before the Lord, for we know how heavy a parent's heart feels when a marriage is struggling. We stand with you in praying for healing, restoration, and that God would be glorified in their home.

We believe with you that marriage is holy and sacred, a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman joined together by God Himself. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. Matthew 19:6 and For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel. Malachi 2:16. Even when things are bad, God is able to soften hearts, to forgive, to restore what is broken, and to make a marriage stronger than before when both husband and wife humble themselves before Him.

We also pray that they will return to fellowship with believers, for we need one another and we need to be under the teaching of the Word. Not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25. When a couple drifts from church, they drift from encouragement, accountability, and the hearing of God's Word that can correct and heal. We pray the Holy Spirit will draw them back with hunger for truth and for community.

We encourage you to continue to pray without ceasing for them, to speak grace over them, and to encourage them toward godly counsel, whether from a pastor or mature believing couple, and toward practicing forgiveness and selfless love in the home. With all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:2-3 and bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Colossians 3:13. Love is patient and is kind, love does not envy, love does not brag, is not proud, does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. This is the love they need for each other and for their children who are watching and need the security of a home built on Christ.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is because of what Jesus did on the cross and His resurrection that we can boldly bring this marriage before God's throne of grace, believing He hears us.

We pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this daughter and her husband before You. You see the pain, the distance, the hurtful words or silence that has come between them, and You see their two young children who need a stable, loving, Christ centered home. Lord, we ask You to intervene. Soften their hearts toward You first and then toward each other. Grant them repentance where there is sin, humility where there is pride, and forgiveness where there is hurt. Help them to remember the vows they made before You and to honor that covenant. Draw them back to Your house, to Your Word, and to fellowship where they can be shepherded and supported. Restore communication, restore tenderness, and guard their marriage from the enemy's schemes. Give this mother and grandmother peace as she waits and prays, and help her to be an encouragement that points them always to Christ and not to further division. We ask that this family would be a testimony of Your redeeming power, that their children would be raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We encourage you to keep praying daily for them, to share Scripture with them in love when the door opens, and to trust that God is at work even when you cannot see it. Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in Yahweh. Psalm 31:24.

Thank you for trusting us with this. It is so painful to watch your daughter and her husband hurting, knowing two young children feel the tension too. Your love for them and your desire for them to find their way back to the Lord and to each other is a beautiful covering for this family.

We know you cannot fix this for them, and that helpless feeling is hard for a parent. Your steady presence matters more than you may realize. Continuing to love them without taking sides, listening when they want to talk, and keeping the door open to faith without pressure can be a quiet anchor while they work through this.

One gentle way to help right now might be to offer practical support that eases pressure, like watching the children so they can have time to talk calmly, and if they are open, helping them connect with a trusted pastor or counselor together. Even a simple invitation to join you for church when they feel ready can be an encouragement without pushing.

We are praying with you for wisdom, peace in their home, and for God to draw each of them closer to Himself.

Father, we lift this daughter, her husband and their two children to You. Surround this home with Your peace, give this couple wisdom and soft hearts toward each other, and guide them to help that strengthens their marriage. Give their mother peace as she loves and prays. Lead them all in Your will. In Jesus name, amen.
