Marriage

Beloved of All
I like a brother in Christ at ###, and genuinely believe he is a Godly man.. I also believe he is showing me signs of interest. I have been been praying the Lord that if he sees this as good and fruitful, that this man would be my future husband. I am praying that the Lord approves of it, that we will get to spend more time getting to know each other and that we will gain clarity. I pray that we are to get married, that we will start a Godly house where Jesus is the center. In Jesus name I pray and ask. Amen.

We rejoice with you in your desire to seek the Lord’s will for a godly marriage, and we join you in praying for clarity and wisdom in this matter. Your heart for a Christ-centered home is beautiful, and we believe the Lord delights in your pursuit of His best for you. The Bible tells us, "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4).

We also want to encourage you to remain patient and discerning as you observe this brother’s character and intentions. Proverbs 19:21 reminds us, "There are many plans in a man’s heart, but the Lord’s counsel will prevail." Trust that if this is God’s will, He will confirm it in His perfect timing. It is wise to seek counsel from mature believers who know you both well, as "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established" (Proverbs 15:22).

We pray that if this man is indeed the one the Lord has for you, that He would open doors for godly courtship, free from distraction or temptation. May your interactions be marked by purity, respect, and a shared commitment to honoring Christ. If it is not His will, we pray for peace and contentment in His plan, trusting that He knows what is best. Let us lift this up together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the desire to build a marriage that honors You. We ask that You would guide this sister and this brother in their steps toward one another. Lord, if it is Your will for them to unite in holy matrimony, we pray that You would make it abundantly clear, removing any doubt or confusion. Grant them wisdom to discern Your voice and the courage to follow where You lead.

Father, we ask that You would guard their hearts and minds, keeping them pure in thought and deed as they seek to honor You in their relationship. If this is not Your plan, we pray for Your peace to surround them, and for Your will to be done in their lives. May they both continue to grow in their love for You and in their trust in Your perfect timing.

We pray for a marriage built on the foundation of Christ, where You are the center, and where Your Word is the guide for their home. May their union be a testimony to Your grace and a light to those around them. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord in prayer and and in His Word, and may He bless you you with His peace as you wait on Him.

It’s wonderful that you’re bringing this hope before the Lord so honestly, a desire for a God-honoring marriage is never too small to lay at His feet. We join you in that, and we’re glad this brother’s faith has caught your attention.

When our hearts are stirred, it’s easy to read every glance as confirmation. We’ve been there. Yet gaining clarity often comes less from interpreting signs and more from unhurried, real-world observation. Over time, watch how he serves when no one is watching, how he handles disappointment, how he speaks about others. Trust what you see over what you hope you see. It can also help to invite a mature believer who knows you both, maybe a small group leader or mentor, to pray alongside you and offer honest perspective. That’s not about putting God’s will to a vote; it’s about letting the Body help you test what’s truly from Him.

Use the season you’re in now to grow in your own foundation, too, deepen your dependence on Christ apart from any relationship. That steadiness will serve you well, whether this door opens or not.

Let’s pray:

Jesus, we lift our sister to You. You know the hope she carries, and You see the man she admires. Grant her Your peace that quiets anxious wondering. Give her eyes to see clearly and patience to wait on Your timing. Surround her with wise friends who can reflect Your heart. If this relationship is part of Your good plan, guide them step by step into honest friendship and shared purpose. But above all, anchor her identity in You alone. We trust Your love to lead her, whatever the outcome. In Your name, Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

You have brought your hope before the Lord, and that is the only safe place for any desire of the heart. Many a soul rushes ahead with bold plans, saying, “Today or tomorrow I will do this, and I will get that,” as if the future were a ship they could steer by their own compass. But you have knelt down and whispered, “If You will, Lord.” That is the beginning of wisdom, and it is the posture of a child who trusts her Father’s hand in the dark.

You like this brother, and you have seen in him what you believe to be the marks of a godly man. That is no small thing. And as you have been praying for the Lord’s approval, for more time, for clarity, these are the prayers of a heart that is in earnest and yet does not wish to move one inch beyond her Master’s will. Take comfort in this: the Lord who taught you from your youth, who has made you His own and calls you “beloved” though you were once not beloved, will not play games with your affections. He is not a Father who mocks His children’s whispered hopes. If this desire has been planted in you, He will tend it as He sees best; if it is a mist that must lift, He will lift it gently.

While you wait, remember that before any man ever takes your hand, you already have a Husband in heaven who will never prove unfaithful. It was the Lord who said of old, “I was a Husband unto them.” He led His people with tenderness through the wilderness; He gave Egypt for their ransom; He set His peculiar love upon them, though they were a stiff-necked flock. And He still deals with His own in the same steadfast way. You are not adrift on the sea of chance, but anchored in the heart of Christ. Let that husband-love of God be your peace while you watch and pray. If this man is indeed to be a husband to you one day, his love will be but a faint shadow of that greater love with which Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her. That is the pattern, and it is a holy mystery. So your prayer for a home where Jesus is the center is a prayer that touches the deepest things of the Gospel. A union that reflects the tenderness of Christ for His bride, what could be more pleasing to Him?

Keep praying, and keep your heart quiet before Him. The very breath of prayer is the pulse of the new life. “Behold, he prayeth,” was proof enough that Saul was a changed man. So your steadfast coming to the throne is a sign that the Lord is at work in you already. He will teach you as you go. Clarity will not likely come in a single dazzling flash, but like the slow dawning of a morning that grows brighter until the full day. You need not strain your eyes to see the end of the road; it is enough that He sees it. A little child walking through a dark lane does not tremble when she holds her father’s hand. You have placed your hand in His; He will guide you concerning this man, whether he is to be a companion for life or whether a different path is in store. Either way, you will find that the Lord does all things well.

Rest, then, in this: the God who has loved you with an everlasting love has His eye upon this matter. He will neither hurry you blindly into a mistake nor cruelly withhold a good gift out of neglect. Wait on Him with a teachable spirit, and let the peace of Christ rule in your heart while you pray. He will speak in His own time, and you will know.

Lord Jesus, You are the Bridegroom of Your church, and You never fail those who wait for You. Take this dear sister by the hand and lead her in the way everlasting. Grant her a quiet heart, a patient hope, and a wise discernment. If this brother is indeed Your choice for a husband, make it plain as noonday; if not, gently turn her steps and keep her from every snare. Give her more of Yourself in the waiting, and let her life, whether single or wedded, be a Godly house where You are the center, today and always. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

As the days have passed, we continue to lift you up, asking the Father to grant you wisdom, patience, and clarity in this journey.
