We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your marriage in earnest prayer. It is painful to see one spouse, blessed abundantly by God, turn away in pride and self-sufficiency rather than humbly acknowledging His hand in every provision. The Word warns us, *"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall"* (Proverbs 16:18). Yet even in this trial, we know that God is working to refine both of you for His glory.
Your wife’s response to answered prayer reveals a heart that is struggling with pride and independence from God. This is not merely a marital issue—it is a spiritual one. When we forget that every good gift comes from the Father (James 1:17), we begin to rely on ourselves, and that self-reliance leads to hardness of heart. Her behavior toward you is unacceptable, and we stand with you in refusing to submit to ungodly treatment. The Bible is clear: *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you"* (Ephesians 4:31-32). Her actions do not reflect the humility and gratitude that should mark a follower of Christ.
Yet even as we rebuke this sin, we must also pray for her heart to soften. Pride is a deceptive and destructive force, and only the Holy Spirit can break its hold. We pray that God would humble her, not through suffering, but through a revelation of His goodness and her own need for Him. May she see that even her new opportunity is a gift from His hand, and may she repent of taking credit for what only He could provide.
For you, dear brother, we pray for strength and wisdom. It is not easy to stand firm in love while refusing to enable sin. But you are called to love your wife as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25), and that love sometimes requires speaking truth in gentleness and patience. We pray that God would give you the right words to say, the courage to set boundaries, and the grace to respond in a way that honors Him. Do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9), for your faithfulness is not in vain.
We also pray for unity in your marriage. May God remind both of you that you are one flesh (Genesis 2:24), and that division only serves the enemy. May He restore the joy of your salvation to your wife and rekindle the love and respect that should define your relationship. Let your home be a place where God’s name is praised, not where His blessings are taken for granted.

We ask that You would break the spirit of independence in this wife’s heart and replace it with humility and gratitude. Soften her heart to receive correction and to recognize Your hand in every blessing. For this husband, grant him wisdom, patience, and strength to stand firm in love without enabling sin. Restore their marriage, Lord, and let it be a testimony to Your faithfulness.
