Marriage restored

We have heard your request and we join you in bringing it before the Lord with compassion and care. The pain of being left without explanation, and of waiting a year without contact, is very deep, and it is right to bring that sorrow to God who sees all and knows the heart.

We believe with you that marriage is a bond ordained by God and that it is honorable. Scripture calls us to follow peace with all people and holiness, and to live in a chaste and orderly way within marriage, preserving the holiness that comes through faith. Marriage is not to be treated lightly, for it is a covenant of one man and one woman for life, and it is to be adorned with faithfulness, gravity and love.

We will pray with you that God will work in both of your hearts according to His perfect will. We ask that He would bring healing where there has been hurt, clarity where there has been confusion, and repentance and restoration where it is needed. We pray for your husband, that the Lord would draw near to him, keep him, convict him where he needs conviction, comfort him where he needs comfort, and lead him in the way of truth. We pray for you, that God would give you peace that guards your heart, wisdom for each day, and strength to walk faithfully with Christ even in this long season of waiting and not knowing.

We also pray that you would be surrounded by wise and faithful counsel in your local church, that you would not walk through this alone, and that your hope would remain rooted not only in promises spoken over your ministry, but first in Jesus Christ Himself, who is our salvation and our sure hope. Continue to seek Him, to remain in prayer, in the Word, and in fellowship with believers who can support you and help you discern next steps with grace and truth.

We do not know what the future holds for your marriage, but God does, and we trust His goodness and His sovereignty. We ask that if it is His will, He would open the way for communication, for truth to be spoken in love, and for this covenant to be restored and made strong in Him. Above all we ask that His will be done and that both of you would be conformed more to Christ through this trial.

May the Lord keep you, give you rest in His love, and guide you day by day. We are standing with you in prayer.

Thank you for sharing so honestly about the pain and confusion you are carrying. A year of silence and not knowing why your husband left is a deep wound, and it is understandable that you do not even know how to pray right now. God sees you in this place, He hears you, and He knows every detail even when you do not.

Scripture teaches that marriage is a covenant God created where two become one flesh. It is a profound unity, two persons becoming one life together, reflecting something of God's own oneness. That is why the breaking of that unity hurts so deeply, and why your desire for restoration and healing is right and good to bring before the Lord. At the same time Jesus taught that marriage as we know it belongs to this life, and in the resurrection we will be like the angels in heaven, living fully in God's presence. He affirmed that God is the God of the living and that He has power to raise the dead and to bring life where there has been loss. That same power is at work now to heal, to forgive, and to restore.

It is also good that you added if it is His will. God loves marriage and hates its breaking, and He invites you to ask Him for restoration. He also calls each person to walk with Him personally. Hope is safest when it is anchored in God's Word rather than in words spoken over you by others, even when those words were spoken with good intentions. Testimonies and expectations about ministry can disappoint if they are held tighter than Scripture. God's promises in Christ are sure, and His will for your life and for your husband's life will be good, even when it is not yet clear.

You do not need perfect words to pray. The Holy Spirit intercedes when we do not know what to say. You can pray honestly for what you do know. Pray that God would do His healing work in your husband wherever he is, that He would draw him to Himself, bring conviction where there is sin, comfort where there is hurt, and lead him to repentance that shows itself in real change and restoration. Jesus welcomed sinners and tax collectors to sit with Him, and the mark that His grace had truly touched them was a changed heart and a changed life. Pray for that kind of work in both of you. Pray too for yourself, for peace that guards your heart, for wisdom for each day, for strength to keep walking faithfully, and for trusted believers around you who can support you and help you discern next steps.

I join with you in asking God to heal what is broken, to bring clarity where there is confusion, to work in your husband's heart, and to restore your marriage if it is His will. Above all I pray that both of you would be drawn closer to Jesus, because salvation and hope are found in Him alone, and any true restoration must flow from Him. May the Lord give you comfort in His nearness, guidance as you wait, and faith to trust His loving care for your future.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for the restoration of your marriage.

We have been lifting you up as you have walked through this very painful year of waiting after your husband left so suddenly and ghosted you. We remember you shared that you and your husband were in ministry together for five years and had received many testimonies and promises about how God would grow your ministry and what you would do together, and how confusing and heartbreaking it has been to not know what broke or why he left or even how to pray about it.

We continue to stand with you and ask God to do a healing and restoring work in both of your hearts and in your marriage. We pray that the Lord would draw your husband home if it is His will, that He would heal whatever was broken, remove any confusion, and bring clarity and reconciliation where there has been silence. We pray that God would comfort you in this season of not knowing, guard your heart and mind in Christ, and remind you daily of His promises and His nearness, for we know He is close to the brokenhearted according to Psalm 34:18. We pray that what God has joined together would be restored according to Mark 10:9 and that He would restore what has been lost as He promises in Joel 2:25. We ask all of this in Jesus Name.

If your request was answered and the Lord has moved in your marriage and brought restoration or communication, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not yet seem to have been answered and your husband is still gone, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
