We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage in desperate need of restoration. Father God, we know that You instituted marriage as a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, a reflection of Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:31-32). We ask that You would intervene in this union, softening hearts, breaking down walls of pride, bitterness, or unforgiveness, and drawing both husband and wife back to You and to one another.
Lord, we pray for wisdom for this spouse—grant them clarity to see where they may have contributed to the brokenness, whether through neglect, unkind words, selfishness, or sin. Help them to humble themselves, seek repentance, and extend grace as You have so freely given it to us (Colossians 3:13). We rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or ungodly influence that may be at work in this marriage, declaring that no weapon formed against it shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
If there has been infidelity, addiction, or any other sin that has fractured this relationship, we ask for Your healing power to cleanse and restore. Convict where there is hardness of heart, and lead both spouses to walk in holiness, for without holiness, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). We pray that they would turn away from any ungodly relationships, habits, or influences that may be pulling them away from their marriage vows.
Father, we also lift up the other spouse—wherever they may be in this struggle. Soften their heart to forgive, to seek reconciliation, and to remember the love that once bound them together. Remind them that love is patient, love is kind, and it always perseveres (1 Corinthians 13:4-7). If they have strayed into sin—whether through emotional or physical unfaithfulness—we pray for deep conviction and a return to righteousness.
We declare that this marriage is not beyond Your redemption. You are the God who makes all things new (Revelation 21:5), and we trust that You can rebuild what has been broken. Strengthen this couple to fight for their marriage, not against each other, but against the enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). May they seek You first in all things, for You are the foundation of a godly marriage (Matthew 6:33).
Lord, we also ask that You surround them with godly counsel—mentors, pastors, or trusted believers who can speak truth and encouragement into their lives. Protect them from worldly advice that contradicts Your Word, and help them to stand firm on the promises of Scripture.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who reconciled us to You and who alone can restore what has been lost. May Your will be done in this marriage, and may Your name be glorified through their testimony. Amen.
