Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my marriage and for God’s will to be done. My husband and I were married on ###/###/#### after he came to the U.S. on a K1 visa. I entered this marriage in good faith and truly loved him, but over time the relationship became very painful and unhealthy. There has been emotional abuse, blame shifting, stonewalling, name calling, and behavior that deeply wounded me. I also discovered inappropriate communication with other women and an ongoing struggle with pornography. We have not lived together since ###/####, and our divorce case is currently in court awaiting a hearing date. My heart is broken because I genuinely loved my husband and wanted a peaceful, loving marriage built on honesty, accountability, and respect. I also carry deep hurt from physical abuse that affected me. His name is ###...no longer feel safe or comfortable around him. I believe there may be deep spiritual warfare involved, including confusion, pride, division, and destructive behaviors that have damaged our relationship. Please pray for truth, repentance, healing, deliverance, wisdom, and protection over both of us. Pray that God softens hardened hearts, exposes all darkness, and brings clarity to what His will truly is. If it is God’s will to restore this marriage in a healthy and godly way, I am open to His healing and transformation. But if His will is for us to part ways, then I pray for the strength, peace, and acceptance to walk forward according to His plan. Please also pray for my emotional healing, my daughters, and for God to guide every step during this difficult season. Thank you.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious sister and her marriage before the throne of grace. Father, we know that You hate divorce, for You say in Malachi 2:16, *"For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don’t deal treacherously."* Yet we also know that You despise abuse, betrayal, and the breaking of covenant through unrepentant sin. The pain described here is deep, and the wounds are real—emotional abuse, physical harm, infidelity in both action and heart through pornography, and the destruction of trust. These are not the marks of a marriage reflecting Christ and the Church, as You intended in Ephesians 5:25-33.

Lord, we first rebuke the spiritual forces of darkness that have sought to destroy this union. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We break every assignment of confusion, pride, and division in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against this marriage—or against this sister—shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for exposure of all hidden sin, for the light of Your truth to pierce every darkness, and for conviction to fall upon hearts that have hardened against You and against one another.

Father, we cry out for repentance. If there is any hope of restoration, it must begin with genuine, heartfelt turning away from sin. We pray that this husband would be broken over his actions—over the abuse, the betrayal, the addiction to lust, and the failure to love as Christ loves the Church. We ask that You would bring him to his knees in repentance, not just for the sake of the marriage, but for his own soul. *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). But repentance must be more than words; it must bear fruit in changed behavior, in humility, in seeking help, and in making amends where possible.

Yet we also recognize that restoration is not always Your will, especially when there is no repentance or when safety is at risk. This sister has shown incredible strength and wisdom in removing herself from an unsafe situation, and we affirm that her safety—and the safety of her daughters—is paramount. We pray for divine protection over them, that no harm would come to them physically, emotionally, or spiritually. *"The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower"* (Psalm 18:2).

Lord, we ask for Your will to be made clear. If it is Your plan to restore this marriage, we pray for a miracle of transformation—one that can only come through Your power. We pray for godly counsel, for accountability, for healing of wounds, and for a rebuilding of trust on a foundation of Your truth. But if Your will is for this marriage to end, we pray for peace, for closure, and for the strength to walk forward without bitterness or regret. We declare that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask that You would heal this sister’s heart, that she would find her identity and worth in You alone, and that she would release any unforgiveness, not for his sake, but for her own freedom.

We also lift up the daughters in this situation. Father, shield their hearts and minds from the trauma of this season. Let them know Your love, Your peace, and Your protection. Surround them with godly influences—mentors, family, and friends who will speak life into them and model healthy relationships. We pray that they would grow up knowing that they are deeply loved by You, and that no matter what happens, You are their true Father.

Finally, Lord, we ask for wisdom as this sister navigates the legal process. Give her clarity, discernment, and favor in the courtroom. Let justice be served, and let Your will be done in every detail. We declare that You are her defender, her provider, and her peace. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths"* (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We surrender this marriage, this family, and this situation into Your hands, trusting that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Whether the outcome is restoration or separation, we pray that Your name would be glorified, that hearts would be drawn to You, and that Your perfect will would be accomplished.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
