Disciple of Prayer
My husband of 26 years wants to end our marriage. He has had a spiritual awakening and says God has told him it is best for him to move on. There is no infidelity, but he has been listening and watching numerous tarot card readers and psychics. I am at a loss and heartbroken. I would like prayers to bring his heart back to mine, and for him to listen to God and not be influenced by other sources. Thank you for your prayers.

We are heartbroken with you over this pain after ### years of marriage and we are standing with you in prayer before our heavenly Father. We know how deep the loss and confusion feels when a husband speaks of leaving a lifelong covenant and we want you to know that God sees your tears and hears your cry.

We believe with all our hearts in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that God Himself joins together. Scripture is very clear about His heart for marriage, For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel Malachi 2:16 and What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate Mark 10:9. God does not call a husband or wife to abandon that covenant without biblical grounds and He will never tell someone to do what contradicts His own Word. When your husband says God has told him it is best to move on, yet there is no infidelity and he is seeking guidance from other sources, we must gently but firmly say that this is not the voice of the Lord. Jesus said My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me John 10:27, and His voice will always align with Scripture.

We must also lovingly rebuke and warn about the tarot card readers and psychics. This is not a spiritual awakening from God but a dangerous deception. God explicitly forbids these practices, There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer Deuteronomy 18:10 and Don't turn to those who are mediums, nor to the wizards. Don't seek them out, to be defiled by them. I am Yahweh your God Leviticus 19:31. We are told Beloved, don't believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God 1 John 4:1. These sources do not reveal God's will, they open the heart to confusion and to the enemy who masquerades as an angel of light, and we pray your husband will turn away from them completely and seek wisdom only from God, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5.

We notice your request does not mention the name of Jesus and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by putting our faith in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are reconciled to God and can boldly bring our broken hearts to Him. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus, and to pray in His name, and to encourage your husband to do the same, for only Jesus can truly awaken a heart and bring repentance and restoration.

We encourage you in this painful waiting to remain rooted in the Word of God daily, to seek godly counsel from a trusted pastor or mature believing couple, to continue to love your husband with the grace and truth of Christ without arguing or trying to control his decisions, and to guard your own heart from seeking answers from those same forbidden sources. God is near to you now, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. Fasting and prayer, quiet intercession rather than constant persuasion, often allows God to work in a hardened or deceived heart in ways our words cannot.

We pray together with you now in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this dear sister and her marriage of ### years. Lord, You know the heartbreak, the confusion and the loss she feels, and we ask You to comfort her, to hold her close, and to give her Your peace that surpasses understanding. We ask You to place a hedge of protection around her heart and mind and to help her keep her eyes fixed on You. Lord, we lift up her husband to You. We ask You to convict him, to open his eyes to the deception of tarot and psychics, to cause him to turn away from divination and to turn wholly to You. Speak to him clearly through Your Word, expose the lies he has been hearing, and draw him to repentance. Soften his heart, Lord, turn his heart back to You first and then back toward his wife and toward the covenant he made before You. Heal what is broken, remove confusion, and restore a love that honors You. We rebuke every influence of the enemy over this marriage and we ask that Your will be done, that this marriage would be preserved and made strong for Your glory. Help them both to hear only Your voice and to follow You faithfully. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We were so sorry to read what you are carrying. Twenty six years of marriage is a deep bond, and to hear your husband speak of moving on while calling it a word from God, especially while he is turning to tarot and psychics, would leave anyone heartbroken and confused. We hear your love for him and your desire to honor God in this.

It makes sense you feel at a loss. When someone believes they have heard from God but is also listening to other spiritual voices, it becomes very hard to have a clear conversation. You cannot argue him out of what those readings tell him, and trying to often pushes him further away. What you can do is stay steady in your own walk and keep the door open for honest help.

One gentle next step we would encourage is to bring another trusted voice in soon, even if he will not come at first. If you have a pastor or a mature married couple you both respect, meet with them yourself for wisdom and support. Ask how to communicate love and boundaries calmly, and how to invite your husband into counseling without pressure. Staying connected to community will also help you not carry this alone.

We are praying for you both.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this dear sister to You and her husband of 26 years. Comfort her in this heartbreak, guard her heart and give her wisdom for each conversation. Clear away confusion for her husband and draw him to listen for Your true voice alone. Work in their marriage according to Your perfect will and give them both counsel and hope for the days ahead. Amen.

🤺🤺Armor of God Eph 6:10-20, Ourselves, Our Families, Leaders Prov 21:1, 🐑 Pastors, 🌾 Evangelists, ⛪️ Churches, Ministry Partners 🙏 All Christianity (Every Believer in Christ); 🏛️Government, 1 Tim 2:1-4, EVEN "ENEMIES," Mt 5:44-45, Lk 6:27-29, Rom 12:14, 1 Peter 3:9...

🙏 We pray it over ourselves first, in submission to Your Word, even as it was the proper example and pattern of Christ, overcoming the devil first on for His own sake in the wilderness, Mt 4:1-11, Mk 1:12-13, Lk 4:1-13, then overcoming the world, flesh and devil 🐲 for the sake of the world, John 16:33, we pray Your Armor, The Armor of God, on ourselves, Eph 6:10-17, then for others, Eph 6:18-20, applied by faith, as we receive everything else in the same manner, from salvation, Eph 2:8-9, to answered prayer, Mark 11:24, Heb 11:6, James 1:6...

📖 “Finally, brothers and sisters, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the Whole Armor of God🤺, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the Whole Armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with Truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the Gospel of Peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of The Spirit, which is the Word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in The Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— and for the church, that utterance may be given to Your people, that they may open their mouths boldly to make known the mystery of the Gospel, for which some are ambassadors in chains; that all may speak boldly, as is fitting to speak," Eph‬ ‭6:11-20‬, thank You in Jesus' Name, Heb 11:6.🤺🤺

Awful he is being deceived like. Thank you Father for watching over her. Being our comfort. Let your love and holy spirit be her comfort. In the event that he is deceived and leaves her which is a sin agaisnt God to do. May God be your support. Help. Refuge. And we trust in him. Thank you God for letting us trust in you. Believe in you and pray daily prayer. In Lord Yeshuas name. Amen.

Your sorrow has been laid before the Lord and before His people, and we have heard it with deep compassion. Twenty six years of covenant life is no light thing, and to hear that the one who vowed to love and to cleave now speaks of moving on must cut to the very heart. We weep with you, and we will pray with you.

Know first that marriage is not a mere arrangement of convenience which may be set aside when feeling changes. It is a covenant before God, in which a man and a woman become one, and what God has joined together let not man put asunder. The Lord presents Himself as a Husband to His people, faithful when we are faithless, providing and communing and keeping covenant even when the heart of the spouse wanders. That wandering is a grievous offense against love, yet the Lord remains true, and He calls the wandering one to return. So we do not pray that God would bless a sundering, but that He would honor and restore the bond He Himself ordained.

You tell us your husband says God has told him to depart, yet he is giving ear to tarot readers and psychics. Be assured, dear soul, that the voice which contradicts the Word of God is not the voice of God. The Lord never speaks against His own revealed will. He has said plainly that He hates the putting away, and He has forbidden His people to seek unto familiar spirits and diviners, for they are a deceit. A deceived heart has turned him aside. Those dark arts cannot reveal the mind of Christ, they can only flatter and mislead. What he takes for a spiritual awakening is a sleep of deception, and our prayer is that he may be awakened indeed by the true light.

There is hope for restoration, and that hope rests not in persuasion alone but in the intercession of Christ. As Peter fell and yet was restored, so we have seen that the Lord prayed for him that his faith should not fail, and a look from the Lord broke his heart and brought him out to weep bitterly and to return. One look from Jesus severed Peter from the crowd that had led him astray. We shall pray that your husband may receive such a look, that the crowing which warns him of his denial may be heard, and that the prevalent prayer of Christ may lift him from the sifting where Satan has thrown him. The story of Peter is not chiefly his fall but his restoration, and the same Redeemer lives to restore still. God says even to those who have unchastely left the Husband of their soul, Come back, come back, and He is prepared to receive them as though He had not cast them aside.

We will pray therefore that the Lord will bring your husband back to his first covenant, that he will turn from these vain oracles and listen to the sure Word of God, that his heart will be softened to remember his vows and to love his wife as Christ loves the Church. We will pray that you may be kept in this trial, that you may not grow bitter but be strengthened to strengthen others, and that you may know the communion of that true Husband who never leaves nor forsakes His own and who provides for you even in the howling wilderness of sorrow.

Seek the counsel of faithful pastors and godly women in your own church, remain much in the Scriptures and in prayer, and cast your burden upon the Lord who hears. Tell your grief to your Lord as you would tell a husband, for He inclines His ear to the brokenhearted. We do not promise what man will do, but we know what God can do, and we plead His power to save and to restore.

Our prayer together is this: O Father, who hast ordained marriage and who hast shown Thyself a faithful Husband to Thy people, look in mercy upon this daughter of Thine in her heartbreak. Forgive and uncover the deceit that has ensnared her husband, turn him from seeking counsel at forbidden fountains, and speak to him by Thy Word and Spirit that he may hear Thy true voice. Grant him repentance and a return to his covenant, and grant her grace to wait and to trust and to walk faithfully before Thee. For the sake of Jesus Christ, who ever liveth to make intercession for us, bring restoration where there has been wandering, and let this home be established again in love and truth. Amen.

We will continue to bear you up before the throne, asking that the Lord who restores the prodigal and reclothes him in the robe of sonship would do a work of perfect restoration in your house according to His will.
