Make my ### surgery successful on ###

Disciple of Prayer
###m year old Vietnam vet. Pray for my sick body to be healed. Pray for my bladder neck surgery on ### be successful. Pray my prostate surgeries have worked and stopped swelling. I have bad kidneys. Lungs and bones. Pray I do not suffer so much as the VA medical center can do little now except for that last bladder neck surgery so I can urinate properly and not get bladder infections.

We lift you up before the Lord, our brother in Christ, a warrior who has served his country and now faces the battles of the body. Your suffering is not unseen by our Heavenly Father, who cares deeply for you and promises to be near to the brokenhearted and crushed in spirit. We stand with you in prayer, trusting in God’s power to heal and sustain you, for He is the Great Physician who works all things together for good for those who love Him.

First, we must address that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father and by whose stripes we are healed. It is only in His name that we can boldly approach the throne of grace. The Scriptures declare in **John 14:13-14**, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* And in **Acts 4:12**, we are reminded, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* If you have not yet placed your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now, for He alone holds the keys to life and healing. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (**Romans 10:9**). If you have already done this, we encourage you to always pray in His name, for it is through Him that our prayers are heard.

We also want to remind you that suffering, while painful, is not without purpose in the life of a believer. The Apostle Paul wrote in **2 Corinthians 12:9-10**, *"He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong."* Your weakness is an opportunity for God’s strength to be displayed in your life. Even if healing does not come in the way we hope, we trust that God’s grace will sustain you, and His purposes will prevail.

We pray now for your upcoming bladder neck surgery, asking the Lord to guide the hands of the surgeons and medical staff, granting them wisdom, skill, and steadiness. May this procedure be successful beyond expectation, restoring proper function so that you may urinate without pain or infection. We ask for the complete healing of your prostate, that all swelling would cease and that you would experience relief and restoration. Lord, we pray for your kidneys, lungs, and bones—organs and structures fearfully and wonderfully made by You. Renew them, O God, and let them function as You designed. We rebuke the spirit of infirmity in Jesus’ name and command every cell, tissue, and organ to align with Your perfect will for health and wholeness.

Father, we ask that You would ease this brother’s suffering. When the pain feels unbearable, remind him of Your presence and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (**Philippians 4:7**). We pray for divine comfort and strength, that he would not grow weary or lose heart, but would fix his eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of his faith (**Hebrews 12:2**). Lord, we ask that You would provide for his every need—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. If there are financial or logistical burdens tied to his medical care, we pray for Your provision and for wisdom in navigating the VA system. Open doors where they seem closed, and let favor rest upon him.

We also pray for his heart and mind during this time. Anxiety and fear can easily creep in when facing such trials, but we declare **Isaiah 41:10** over him: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* May he rest in the assurance that You are sovereign over every detail of his life, and that nothing happens apart from Your knowledge and purpose.

Finally, we pray that this season of trial would draw him closer to You, Lord. Use this time to deepen his faith, to reveal Your love in new ways, and to remind him that his hope is not in his body’s strength but in Your unfailing promises. Let him be a testimony of Your faithfulness, that others may see Your work in his life and give You glory.

In Jesus’ mighty and holy name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on **Psalm 103:2-4**, which says, *"Praise the Lord, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from destruction; who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies."* Cling to these truths, brother. You are not forgotten. You are loved by the King of kings, and He is at work in your life, even now. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep your eyes fixed on Him. We are standing with you in faith.

We're here with you, brother, lifting you up in prayer. We've been reflecting on your journey and we want you to know that we're standing right beside you, every step of the way. We're asking the Lord to be with you in your upcoming surgery, to guide the hands of the medical team, and to grant them wisdom and skill. We're believing for a successful procedure and a swift recovery, with your body functioning as it should, free from pain and infection.

We're also asking the Lord to heal your prostate, to stop any swelling, and to strengthen your kidneys, lungs, and bones. We're claiming His promise in Psalm 103:3, that He heals all your diseases. We're believing for a miracle, brother, and we're trusting that God is more than able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20).

We're praying for peace and comfort, too. We're asking the Lord to ease your pain and fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We're believing that you'll feel His presence with you, every moment, and that you'll find strength in His unfailing love (Psalm 36:7).

We're also praying for provision. If there are financial or logistical burdens tied to your medical care, we're asking the Lord to provide for every need (Philippians 4:19). We're believing that He'll open doors where they seem closed, and that favor will rest upon you.

We're here to encourage you, too. We're believing that this trial will draw you closer to the Lord, and that you'll see His faithfulness in new ways. We're believing that you'll be a testimony of His goodness, and that others will see His work in your life and give Him glory.

We're praying all of this in Jesus' mighty and holy name. Amen. Keep trusting, brother. Keep praying. Keep your eyes fixed on Him. We're standing with you in faith.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting you up before the Father during this difficult time. Your service to our country as a Vietnam veteran is deeply appreciated, and we are humbled that you’ve trusted us to stand with you in prayer for your health and this upcoming surgery.

We have been earnestly praying for God’s healing touch upon your body—your bladder, prostate, kidneys, lungs, and bones—and for His peace to guard your heart as you face this trial. We know the burden of pain and the frustration of limited medical options can feel overwhelming, but we serve a God who is not limited by human circumstances. Our prayer is that He would grant the surgeons wisdom and steady hands, that this procedure would be fully successful, and that your body would respond with strength and restoration. We are also asking the Lord to ease your suffering, to protect you from infection, and to grant you the ability to urinate without pain or complication.

If God has already moved in answer to these prayers, we would love to rejoice with you—please share a praise report so we can give Him the glory together. If you are still waiting for breakthrough, we want you to know we are not growing weary in prayer for you. Feel free to post an update or a new request so we can continue to cover you in prayer, speaking life and healing over your body in Jesus’ name.

We are standing with you, believing for His perfect will to be done in your life, and trusting that He will carry you through this season with grace and mercy.
