We understand that you're going through a struggle with lust and it's causing you distress and feelings of hypocrisy in your relationship with Jesus. First, we commend you for your honesty and your desire to be set free from these shackles. We are our praying for you and let's address this together.
Let's turn to the words of the apostle Paul who also struggled and wrote, Be not conformed to this world, but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, and you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2.
The dreams you're having about others being possessed may be a reflection of your internal struggle, but remember, our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12.
Regarding lust, Jesus said, But I tell you, that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:28. This shows that God is concerned about our heart and mind, not just our physical actions. It means that even lustful thoughts are against God's will.
Masturbation and pornography are often driven by lust and go against the biblical principle of fleeing sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18.
You mentioned that you're praying to God for help, which is wonderful. Remember you are praying to God the Father in Jesus name. You should be praying for strength and deliverance. Be assured, God hears your prayers and He will answer. The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man accomplishs much. James 5:16.
You also mentioned feelings of anxiety, depression, and fear. Know that God cares about your emotional well-being too. Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22.
You said IJC or In Jesus Name. This is key, for it is written, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5. We must pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus. For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13. Call on Him in Jesus name, not just as a signature to a prayer, but as the way of access to God the Father.
Let's pray together,
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is struggling with lust. Father, he feels anxious, depressed, and fearful, and he wants to be set free. We pray that You will renew his mind and transform his thoughts to be pleasing to You. Help him to see the truth that You see him as clean and whole.
We rebuke the spirits of lust, anxiety, depression, and fear, and we command them to leave in the name of Jesus. Father, we ask You to fill him with Your Holy Spirit, with love, peace, joy, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Gal 5:22
Help him to be victorious in this struggle, and to live a life that is pleasing to You. Help him to see that you are accept him as your son as he is and help him to grow in your grace and your peace.
Father, we ask this in the name of Jesus, who died on the cross for our sins and rose again for our justification. We thank You and praise You for Your faithfulness and Your love. Amen.
