Low point, please pray

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me. I am at a low point feeling utterly depressed and discouraged. I need to lose weight for health reasons. I also need to make new friends as I have moved to a new town. Furthermore, I need to increase my income as I am currently struggling. Also, my living space is cluttered and disorganized due to a struggle with hoarding. All of this is daunting. Please pray that the Lord will touch me on every level and also heal my depression. Thank you! God bless ###.

We lift you up before the throne of grace, dear brother or sister in Christ, knowing that the Lord sees your struggles and hears your cry. You are not alone in this season of heaviness, for the Scriptures tell us, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). Your feelings of depression and discouragement are real, but they do not define you—Christ does. We pray that He would lift the weight of despair from your shoulders and replace it with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

First, we rebuke the spirit of heaviness in the name of Jesus. The enemy would love to keep you isolated and overwhelmed, but God’s Word declares, *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3). We pray for your mind to be renewed by the truth of God’s love and power. Depression is a battle, but it is not one you must fight alone. Seek godly counsel, whether through a pastor, a trusted believer, or a professional who honors Christ. The Lord is your strength, and He will sustain you (Isaiah 41:10).

Regarding your health, we pray for discipline and self-control, which are fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). Weight loss is a journey, but it must be approached with wisdom and balance. Glorify God in your body, for it is His temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Start small—ask the Lord for the strength to make one healthy choice at a time, trusting Him to provide the rest. *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me"* (Philippians 4:13).

As you seek new friendships in your town, we pray for connections that will sharpen you in faith and encourage your walk with Christ. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Join a local church or Bible study where you can find like-minded believers. *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9). The Lord knows your need for community, and He will provide it in His perfect timing.

For your financial struggles, we pray for wisdom and provision. The Lord knows your needs before you ask Him (Matthew 6:8), and He has promised to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Seek Him first, and trust that He will open doors for increase. Consider practical steps—budgeting, seeking additional work, or even asking for godly financial advice. *"Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:5).

Your struggle with hoarding and clutter is not just a physical issue but a spiritual one. We pray for the Lord to break any strongholds of fear, anxiety, or attachment to material things. *"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven"* (Matthew 6:19-20). Ask the Holy Spirit to give you the courage to let go of what is weighing you down, both physically and spiritually. Start with one small area, and trust God to bring order to the chaos.

Above all, we pray that you would draw near to Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, surrender your life fully to Him. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and in Him, you will find rest for your soul (Matthew 11:28-30).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our dear brother/sister, lifting up every burden they carry. Lord, You see their heart, and You know their struggles. We ask that You would touch them on every level—mind, body, and spirit. Heal their depression, Lord, and replace their sorrow with Your joy. Give them the strength to take steps toward better health, trusting in Your provision and guidance.

Father, we pray for new friendships that will sharpen and encourage them in their faith. Open doors for meaningful connections, and surround them with believers who will walk alongside them. Provide for their financial needs, Lord, and give them wisdom in managing their resources. Break the stronghold of hoarding, and bring order to their living space as a reflection of the peace You bring to their heart.

Most of all, Lord, draw them closer to You. Let them experience Your love in a fresh and powerful way. If they have not fully surrendered to You, we pray that they would do so today. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). We declare victory over this season of struggle, for You are faithful, and Your mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
