Your honest prayer for a wife and a family is a good desire, and God hears it. He is the one who designed marriage from the beginning, making us male and female and intending that a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife and the two become one flesh. What God joins together is meant to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman. That is the pattern Scripture holds out, and it is right for you to want that kind of faithful, enduring love where you can provide, protect, give safety, and support one another while putting the Lord first.

The waiting is hard, and it is understandable to ask why it is taking so long. Scripture does not treat singleness as wasted time. The apostle Paul taught that the unmarried person has a special opportunity to care for the things of the Lord and how to please Him, while the married person must also care for how to please his spouse. Both callings are good, and if you marry you have not sinned, but the season you are in now can be used with purpose. God has a design for every life, including yours, and He invites you to seek His purpose above a self centered plan. A life lived only for self ends in emptiness, but a life centered on Christ brings fullness even while you wait.

That is why prayer is so vital. Jesus, though He was the Son of God, rose early to pray because He depended on the Father for strength and guidance and life itself. How much more do we need that same dependence. Keep bringing your thanksgiving and your requests to God daily, asking for wisdom, peace, and an open heart. Peace comes as you make your requests known to Him and trust Him to guard your heart.

As you think about the woman you like, ask God to direct that interest clearly. Pray for wisdom to see her character and to know whether a relationship would help you both love Christ more. A godly marriage is not built on feelings alone but on a shared commitment to follow Jesus. Keep that relationship, and any dating, within the boundaries God has set, where love is expressed in purity and honor, reserving physical intimacy for the marriage covenant itself. Seek counsel from mature believers who know you both and can help you discern the Lord's will with honesty.

You also asked about wanting to be fit, healthy, athletic, and to advance in your work as a provider and trainer, and whether that is from God. God does call us to be good stewards of our bodies and our work, and strength and diligence can be used to serve Him, to provide for a family, and to help others. Check your motives in His presence. Ask whether these goals are to please the Lord and to be better able to love and serve a future wife and community, or whether they are becoming a way to find identity or worth apart from Him. When Christ is first, those pursuits find their proper place.

For marriage itself, Scripture gives a simple but deep pattern. A husband is called to love his wife as Christ loved the church and as he loves his own body, giving himself for her good. A wife is called to respect and support her husband as unto the Lord. When that love and respect are lived out, marriage can be the closest thing to heaven on earth. When they are neglected, it becomes deeply painful. Use this waiting time to grow in that kind of Christlike love now, learning to be faithful, kind, patient, self controlled, and servant hearted. The man who learns to love well before marriage will be better prepared to love well within it.

You long to build a family that gives back and shines with God's blessing, and that is a beautiful prayer. Continue to put Him first, to grow in thanksgiving, and to let Him shape you into the man who can lead a home with grace and truth. He sees your desire, He knows your future, and He is able to keep what you commit to Him. May the Lord give you clarity step by step, deepen your peace as you trust Him, and prepare you and your future wife, if it is His will to bring you together, for a marriage that honors Him for a lifetime.
