We join you in this beautiful prayer from Phil 1:9-11 and we rejoice that you are seeking what God desires for all believers, that our love would not remain stagnant but would abound still more and more.
We love how Paul connects love with real knowledge and all discernment. Biblical love is not mere sentiment or blind affection, it is love that grows in full knowledge and careful insight, so that we may approve the things that are excellent. Without knowledge and discernment, love can be misdirected, approving what God calls harmful and excusing what God calls sin. But when love abounds in truth, we learn to test and distinguish what truly matters, what is excellent and what is empty, so that we may be sincere and blameless. The word sincere carries the idea of being pure when examined in the sunlight, and blameless means without offense or stumbling until the day of Christ. This is our hope, that we would be found pure and without blemish on that day, as we are told in 2 Pet 3:14 to be diligent to be found in peace, without defect and blameless in his sight, and in Eph 5:9-10 that the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth, proving what is well pleasing to the Lord.
And we are reminded that this fruit is not produced by our own striving, but we are being filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. Jesus himself said in John 15:8, In this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so you will be my disciples. And in John 15:5 he reminds us that apart from me you can do nothing. It is only through abiding in Christ that limitless fruit for God's glory is possible. We also remember Col 1:10 that we should walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, and Gal 5:22-23 that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self control.

Father, we thank You for Your Word and for the work You have begun in us. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ that our love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve the things that are excellent, that we may be sincere and without offense to the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are through Jesus Christ, to Your glory and praise. Lord, deepen our understanding of Your truth, give us discernment to reject what is false and to cling to what is excellent, keep us spotless and blameless as we await the return of our Lord Jesus. Fill us daily with the fruit of righteousness that only comes through Him, so that our lives bear limitless fruit for Your glory and praise. Teach us to walk in love that is grounded in Your Word, not in the wisdom of this world, and to live in a way that honors You until that Day. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and righteousness, amen.
