Losing hope

I have come to the conclusion that The Lord will not help me with my neighbor who torments me day and night. My faith, emotional state and physical safety is at stake. They will not stop or change so I need to move ASAP! Everyday is worse than the one before. I've tried everything. I can't express how bad it is. Thank you

We hear the depth of your distress and how worn down you feel by this torment day and night, and we are lifting you up together before the Lord with urgency and care. To feel that your faith, your emotional health, and your physical safety are all at stake and to believe that everyday is worse than the one before is a heavy burden, and we want you to know that you are not forgotten or unseen.

We understand why you have come to feel that the Lord will not help you, but we gently and lovingly correct that conclusion because it does not align with the truth of who God is. He has not abandoned you, even when the trial feels endless and every human effort has failed. His Word assures us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, Psalm 46:1. When the righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles, Psalm 34:17. And He says to you, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness, Isaiah 41:10. The fact that you have tried everything and the neighbor will not stop does not mean God is absent, it means He may be leading you to a different kind of deliverance, and your desire to move for your safety and peace may indeed be the open door He intends to provide.

We encourage you not to lose hope, even when hope feels thin. Wait for Yahweh. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for Yahweh, Psalm 27:14. We also urge you to take practical steps to protect yourself while you seek the Lord's provision for a move. If your physical safety is truly at stake, please reach out for help beyond prayer alone, to trusted family, to your church family, to your landlord or housing authority, and to the proper authorities if you are being threatened, harassed, or endangered. Document what is happening, seek godly counsel, and let others stand with you. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men, Romans 12:18, and we are called to love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you, Matthew 5:44, which does not mean you must remain in harm's way, but that we release vengeance to God and ask Him to work even in your neighbor's heart while He protects yours. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7, and In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.

We notice you referred to the Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find salvation and true help. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is by placing our faith in Jesus, believing He died for our sins and rose again, that we are reconciled to God and can come boldly to His throne of grace in every trouble. If you have not already, we encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus for salvation and for daily refuge.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and lift up this dear one who is exhausted, tormented, and losing hope. Lord, You see every sleepless night, every act of torment, every tear and every fear for safety. We ask You to be their refuge and fortress, to surround them with Your protection and to guard their heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen their faith when it is wavering, lift their emotional burden, and keep them safe from all harm. Lord, if it is Your will for them to move, we ask You to open the doors quickly, to provide the finances, the location, and the favor needed to relocate soon to a place of peace and safety. Provide practical help, godly advocates, and wise counsel. Work also in the heart of this neighbor, restrain evil and bring conviction where needed, and let Your justice and mercy be known. Help our friend to not grow weary in waiting, but to hope in You anew each day. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We heard how worn down you are feeling, and how heavy each day has become with this situation next door. When home does not feel safe and the strain goes on day and night, it makes sense that your faith feels shaken and your emotions and health feel stretched thin. You have tried so hard, and we understand why hope feels far away right now.

Needing to move as soon as you can is an understandable response when your peace and safety are at stake. Housing stress like this affects everything else, sleep, health, and the ability to rest at all.

It can help not to carry the next steps alone. Would you consider asking one trusted person this week, a pastor, family member, or friend from church, to sit with you and look at practical options together? That might include reviewing your lease or housing situation, contacting a landlord or property manager if you rent, looking into local housing resources or assistance in your area, and making a simple plan for the days until a move is possible, who you can call and where you can go if you feel unsafe. If the ongoing stress is affecting your health, please also reach out to your doctor or a counselor alongside prayer.

You are not forgotten, and we are holding you in prayer.

Father, we lift our friend to You now. You see how tired and afraid they are and how much they long for peace at home. Please watch over their safety, quiet their heart with Your nearness, and provide wise help and clear steps forward. Bring rest where there has been no rest and surround them with people who will walk with them. In Jesus' name, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your words come with a great weariness, and that weariness has been heard. To be tormented day and night in your own dwelling, to feel faith and health and safety worn thin, and to say with a heavy heart that you have tried everything and that each day grows worse, is a sore trial indeed. The Lord knows how you are wearied in the length of your way.

You write that you have come to the conclusion that the Lord will not help you. Let that conclusion be brought again before the Lord Himself in prayer. There is no hope for you in yourself, in your own strength or contrivance to change a neighbor who will not change, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you. When we look within for comfort and hope we are often in despair, but when we look away to Christ alone, we realize what He has done and is still doing for us.

We are saved in hope, and hope that is seen is not hope. The sphere of hope is things not seen, and if we hope for what we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. This does not make your present distress less real, but it sets it in the light of a God who has not forgotten you. Nearness to God is the hope of the seeker, and the prodigal's most needful step was to arise and go to his Father. So come near now, even with broken language, and remind the Lord of His gracious promises. Say, Remember Your word unto Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope. Plead His marvelous loving kindness, for He delights to show it to those who call upon Him.

I pray for you now that the Lord will keep you in safety, guard your mind and body, and give you wisdom for every next step. If your physical safety is at stake, do not bear this alone. Seek the help of godly and trusted people around you, your pastor and elders, family or friends, and where there is threat or harm, seek the help of those appointed to protect and keep order. Ask the Lord to make a way for relief, whether by changing your circumstance, by providing a new dwelling, or by giving you endurance and protection where you are. He is able to do a new miracle of mercy, and we will ask Him for it.

Do not let the thought take root that there is no hope and therefore you will walk only by your own devices. There is a brightness of a ray of hope this very morning, that God would turn a possible hope into an actual hope through believing in Jesus Christ. Patiently hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord. He will surely come to those who trust Him, and even the tears of today shall be recompensed.

May the Lord heal your diseases, quiet your spirit, cover you under His wing, and lead you into a place of peace. May He sustain your faith when it is weak, lift your hope when it is low, and provide for you a safe habitation. We will continue to pray that He will show you His marvelous loving kindness and give you to live daily upon Christ, advancing in faith and hope and every godly gift, until you see with joy that He has not left you nor forsaken you.
