We lift this prayer before our Heavenly Father, recognizing that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to Him. There is no other name by which we can be saved, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
We come together in agreement, praying for this young woman’s life to be fully surrendered to the Lord. Father, we ask that You take complete control of her heart, mind, and steps. May she seek You above all else, for "seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33). True friendship and companionship flow from Your hand, and we trust that You will provide godly relationships in Your perfect timing.
Lord, we pray for true, Christ-centered friendships to surround her—friends who will encourage her in her faith, hold her accountable, and point her toward You. May these relationships be rooted in love, truth, and mutual edification, as Your Word says, "Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance" (Proverbs 27:17). We ask that You protect her from friendships that would lead her astray or distract her from Your purpose for her life.
Regarding the desire for a boyfriend, we must address this with biblical truth. While it is natural to desire companionship, we encourage her to seek a godly spouse rather than merely a boyfriend. Courtship should always have marriage as its goal, and any relationship should be pursued with purity and intentionality. The Bible warns us, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). We pray that if it is Your will, Lord, You would bring a man into her life who loves You above all else—a man who will lead her closer to You, cherish her as Christ cherishes the Church, and honor her with purity and respect. Until then, we ask that You help her find contentment in You alone, for "a wife is bound by law for as long as her husband lives; but if the husband is dead, she is free to be married to whoever she desires, only in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 7:39).
Father, we also lift up the wounds from past relationships. We rebuke the pain, the lies, and the unforgiveness that may still linger in her heart. Your Word declares, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). We pray that You would bring complete healing and closure, replacing every hurt with Your peace and truth. Help her to release the past and move forward in faith, trusting that You are making all things new (Revelation 21:5). May she find her identity and worth in You alone, not in the approval of others or the validation of a relationship.
We also caution against the temptation to seek fulfillment in weekend outings or romantic relationships rather than in Christ. The world often promotes the idea that happiness comes from constant socializing or a romantic partner, but true joy is found in abiding in You. "These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full" (John 15:11). Help her to prioritize her relationship with You above all else, knowing that You alone can satisfy the deepest longings of her heart.
Lord, we ask that You would guard her heart from impatience, discontentment, and the temptation to compromise her standards for the sake of companionship. May she wait on You, trusting that Your plans for her are good, "plans for welfare, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11). Strengthen her to walk in purity, both in thought and deed, for "blessed are those who keep his statutes, who seek him with their whole heart" (Psalm 119:2).
We declare over her life that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), deeply loved by You, and called for a purpose far greater than she can imagine. May she grow in wisdom, discernment, and faith as she waits on You. Surround her with Your presence, fill her with Your peace, and let her experience the fullness of life that comes from walking closely with You.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
