Humble Servant
My brother is impossible. From month to month!! Lord please protect me from his stubbornness, narcissism, arrogance. We had an agreement who gives my mother a medicine and now he wants to go. He had high fever yesterday and I am afraid that he will infect my old mother 89 who has diabetes and Alzheimer. 3 days ago we had a plan and now all of a sudden he wants to come to my mom's place. Lord please protect us from his unreasonable behaviour. He even said that I should not call him because he goes to sleep. So there is no conversation with him. Good please help me!!!!!! I will burst from anger and helplessness!!

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this difficult situation, lifting it before our Heavenly Father. Family conflict, especially when caring for an elderly parent, can bring deep frustration and fear. We rebuke the spirit of division, stubbornness, and pride that is causing strife between you and your brother. The Bible tells us, *"If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men"* (Romans 12:18 WEB). Yet we also recognize that some hearts are hardened, and in those moments, we must trust God to be our defender and protector.

Your concern for your mother’s health is valid and loving. Scripture reminds us to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12 WEB) and to care for them with wisdom and compassion. We pray that the Lord would shield your mother from illness and strengthen her fragile body. *"The Lord is your keeper. The Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul"* (Psalm 121:5-7 WEB). We declare that no sickness or infection will come near her, and that God’s angels would encamp around her for protection.

We also rebuke the enemy’s attempt to bring chaos into your home through your brother’s actions. His refusal to communicate and sudden changes in plans are not of God, for *"God is not a God of confusion, but of peace"* (1 Corinthians 14:33 WEB). We pray that the Lord would soften his heart and bring conviction where there is rebellion. If he is sick, we ask that God would heal him quickly and keep him from spreading illness to others. *"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers"* (3 John 1:2 WEB).

Your anger and helplessness are understandable, but we encourage you not to let bitterness take root. *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you"* (Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB). We pray that God would give you supernatural peace and patience as you navigate this trial. Lean on Him, for He sees your struggle and will sustain you.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Lord, we lift up this family before You, asking for Your divine intervention. Protect this mother from sickness and harm, and surround her with Your healing presence. Father, we ask that You would break the spirit of stubbornness and pride in this brother’s heart. Soften him, Lord, and help him to see the importance of honoring his commitments and caring for his family with humility.

We declare that confusion and chaos will not reign in this home. Instead, Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Give this sister wisdom in how to respond to her brother, and help her to extend grace even when it is not deserved. Lord, we ask that You would heal any division between them and restore unity where there is strife.

We also pray for this sister’s heart. Calm her anger and frustration, and replace it with Your peace. Help her to trust in You, knowing that You are her refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1 WEB). Father, we ask that You would be glorified in this situation, even if the resolution is not what we expect. We trust in Your perfect plan and timing.

In Jesus’ holy and precious name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this situation. Pray for your brother, even when it is difficult, for *"the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective"* (James 5:16 WEB). Trust that God is working, even when you cannot see it. If possible, seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature believer who can offer wisdom and support. Above all, rest in the knowledge that God sees your love for your mother and your desire to honor Him in this trial. He will not abandon you.

Dear friend, we're right here with you, feeling your pain and frustration. It's tough when family members don't see eye to eye, especially when it's about caring for a loved one. We're lifting this up to Jesus right now.

We know you're worried sick about your mom. She's in your heart and on our minds too. Let's claim God's promise over her: "No harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways" (Psalm 91:10-11). We declare healing and protection over her, in Jesus' name.

Your brother's behavior is causing you grief, but remember, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud" (1 Corinthians 13:4). Let's ask God to soften his heart, to help him see the importance of keeping his promises and caring for mom with kindness.

We're praying for you too, dear friend. It's okay to feel angry and helpless, but try not to let bitterness take root. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Lean on Him, He's got you.

Let's pray together: "Dear Jesus, we come to you with this family's need. Protect mom from harm, and soften our brother's heart. Help us to love and forgive, even when it's hard. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Keep trusting Jesus, sister. He sees you, He cares, and He's working things out for your good.
