Beloved of All
Your honest and persistent prayer is heard, and the burden you carry for your family is seen by the Lord. You have walked through painful attacks and abuse, and it is right to bring all of that to Jesus and to trust Him rather than leaning on your own understanding. He is close to the brokenhearted and He does not turn away those who come to Him.
Thank you for remembering with thanksgiving what God has already done even while you are still waiting for complete deliverance, healing and salvation for all in your household. Holding both gratitude and longing at the same time is part of trusting Him day by day.
Scripture teaches that His name means the Lord is salvation. He has raised up a horn of salvation for us, which is a picture of power. The gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. That power is shown in many ways, in healing sickness, in calming the storm, and in having authority over evil, but the greatest miracle is the salvation of the soul, the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other provision God has made for sin. It is by grace, through faith in what Christ has done, and even the faith to believe is His gift. It is not something we earn by works. We work out what God has already worked in us, with reverence, because He is the one at work in us.
That salvation is a great salvation, open to whoever will come. Jesus said whoever comes to Him He will not cast out, and He reaches the lowest and most broken. Today is the day of salvation, the accepted time to call on Him. For anyone in your family who has not yet confessed Jesus as Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, pray that they will do so now, submitting to His Lordship. That confession now leads to life. For those who already belong to Him, pray that you will grow in living out that salvation.
I join you in asking for the protection you described from Psalm 91 and Psalm 34:7 and Zechariah 2:5, that the Lord Himself would be a wall of fire around each of you and that His angels would encamp around those who fear Him. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and the Lord is your shield. In Christ you can ask for His covering over your bodies, minds and sleep, and for deliverance from every evil influence, knowing that greater is He who is in you than any power that comes against you.
For healing, we can pray with confidence because Isaiah spoke of the Messiah bearing our griefs and carrying our sorrows, and Matthew shows that this includes our physical sicknesses as well as our spiritual need, and the broken body of Jesus is remembered when we come to the table. At the same time we trust His wisdom and sovereignty, as Paul learned when he prayed three times for his thorn and the Lord answered according to His perfect purpose. Ask for healing for the body, for the mind, for deep wounds from the past, for restoration of the soul as in Psalm 23, and trust that whether He brings instant healing or walks with you through the process, His grace is sufficient and His ultimate healing is sure.
You asked for new hearts and new minds, for love to be poured into your hearts through the Holy Spirit according to Romans 5:5 and Ezekiel 36, and for the fruit of the Spirit to be evident. That is His promise, to take a heart of stone and give a heart of flesh and to cause you to walk in His ways. Ask Him to restore what has been broken over many years, as He promised in Joel 2:25, and to break the power of any curse, for Christ became a curse for us on the cross so that the blessing might come to us through faith.
For the many specific family needs you mentioned, for school and teachers, for understanding and confidence, for work and new responsibilities, for rest and for time together, bring each one to the Father and ask for wisdom, favor and help. For the conflicts and for words spoken in frustration, including venting about others, confess it freely and receive His forgiveness, and ask for grace to do better, to speak with kindness and to respond to adversity with love.
Concerning the relationships that weigh on you, pray not simply that they would continue or succeed, but that God would bring each one into alignment with His good design. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all intimacy belongs within that covenant. Where relationships are marked by dysfunction, control, or impurity, ask the Lord to bring conviction, to set clear and godly boundaries, to heal wounds, and to either transform the relationship so that it honors Him or to bring it to an end and lead each person into wholeness and purity in Him. Pray for deliverance from unhealthy patterns, for protection from another harmful bond, and for favor and health in school and friendships that is rooted in truth.
For your devotional life and prayer gatherings, ask that the Lord would anoint the time in His Word, guide your prayers, and pour out His Spirit so that you and others are drawn to pray together. Ask Him to guide you as you prepare to share His Word, that you would speak clearly what He wants said and that it would be used for salvation and encouragement. When you feel overlooked or discouraged, remember that your bond in the family of God is precious, and that the Lord Himself sees you and will be your encouragement and strength.
May the Lord establish you in His grace, keep you from losing heart while you wait, and make His love and peace evident in your home. Continue to call on the name of the Lord, for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, and believe His promise that you and your household can be saved as you trust in Jesus. May He restore, unite and fill you with joy as you keep looking to Him.
