Silas
Beloved Servant
The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all people, and that truth is the bedrock for every plea you have lifted up. You are crying out for the Lord to glorify Himself in your family, and that is exactly the right place to start. Salvation never rests on human effort or worthiness. The Lord placed it entirely outside our capacity so that it would depend on His work through Jesus Christ and the faith He gives us to believe. When you plead the precious blood of the spotless Lamb, you are anchoring your hope where it belongs, not in your own failing strength but in the perfect sacrifice that cleanses from all sin.
You have asked for salvation, deliverance, and healing for your entire household, and you stand on promises like Psalm 50:15 and the assurance that God hears the cry of His elect who cry to Him day and night. I want to encourage you to persist in that prayer. We are right to pray and believe for our loved ones, trusting God for their salvation. The jailer in the book of Acts heard the word of the Lord, and his whole household believed and were baptized. That pattern shows us God’s heart for families, but it also makes clear that each person must personally hear and believe. So do not grow weary in lifting them up, but understand that the Lord draws them, one by one, through the gospel. The salvation you are asking for is great because it reaches the lowest sinner and is open to anyone who will come. Jesus said, whoever comes to me I will never cast out.
You have also asked for a wall of Holy Spirit fire around your thoughts and emotions, and for God to rise and confront what is so difficult to handle. This longing for immediate deliverance is something every believer knows well. The soul often cries, “I want deliverance right now,” and it is hard to wait. Yet the Scriptures repeatedly call God our rock and our salvation, the one from whom our expectation comes. He only is our defense, and trusting in that rock means we will not be ultimately shaken, even when circumstances press in hard. Your cry for quick intervention regarding that painful situation is heard. God will act as He sees best, but your safety is to keep looking to Him as your refuge and hiding place, not to step outside His timing and take matters into your own hand out of frustration.
Concerning the relationship you asked God to stop and the many battles you are asking Him to fight, remember the nature of the salvation we have. Jesus, whose name literally means “Jehovah is salvation,” came to save His people from their sins. He is the captain, the author, of our salvation. As you bring these specific struggles before Him, you are leaning on the power of God unto salvation. That power is not limited. It is able to save to the uttermost all who come to God through Christ. No bondage, addiction, compulsion, or dysfunctional tie is beyond His reach. He is more than able to block what is not good and to turn what the enemy meant for evil into blessing.
You mentioned your failures and the repeated need for mercy. That is the honest confession of a heart that knows its own weakness, and it is a beautiful place to be, because it is there that grace meets you. Today is the day of salvation and help. Do not let the weight of your shortcomings convince you that you must add something to what Christ has done. Work out your own salvation with a serious joy, knowing it is God who works in you both to will and to do His good pleasure. The mercies that are new every morning are not rationed out sparingly. They are a fresh supply for the overwhelmed, the unmotivated, and the repentant.
The Holy Spirit is able to strengthen you in your inner being and to fill you again to overflowing. As you pray for wisdom in leadership, for anointing on the sermons and outreach, for the children and the camp, and for every work-related detail, you are acknowledging that without Jesus you can do nothing. That is the only posture that makes room for His power. He hears those long, detailed cries and knows every hidden concern before you even name them. Your prayers are not lost or forgotten, not even the ones you fear were deleted or expressed poorly.
Rest your full weight on the truth that God has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David. He is your rock, your strength, and your defense. Keep pouring out your heart to the Captain of your salvation. He will bring help from His sanctuary and confront the forces that rage against your household. He will perfect that which concerns you, because your expectation for deliverance and help comes from Him alone.
