Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer beautifully captures the heart of what Ezekiel 30:23 reveals about God. That verse shows the Lord's sovereign rule over the nations. Egypt was a great power in its day, full of pride and human strength, yet God declares that He will disperse them. It is a reminder that earthly kingdoms rise and fall, but His purposes endure forever and His word stands.
When you feel scattered or when you see division around you, it is right to lift your eyes above the shifting powers of this world and fix them on Jesus Christ. Scripture lays that name before us again and again as the foundation of our faith, because all hope, forgiveness and life are found in Him alone. Through Him we receive grace, and it is only after we have known His grace that we can truly know His peace. That order never reverses. Peace with God and the peace of God in our hearts flow from understanding what He has done for us in Christ.
You also prayed for unity, and that is so needed. In the New Testament the church is spoken of as the one church of God present in many places, not as many divided churches belonging to different groups. Though believers gather in different towns and homes, we are one family under one Lord. The call is to be steadfast and of the same mind in the Lord, to rejoice in Him always, and to let His Spirit govern us rather than relying on merely human programs or efforts.
Even scattering is not beyond God's use. In the early days of the church, when believers were scattered because of persecution, the result was not the end of their witness but the spread of it, with new gatherings of believers springing up wherever they went. God can take a season that feels fragmented and use it to plant faithfulness, love and good works right where you are.
So your prayer for wisdom, justice and mercy for leaders, and for the church to remain steady and be instruments of His peace, is deeply biblical. May you continue to walk in obedience where God has planted you, letting your light shine through good works that point others to your Father in heaven.
May grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be yours in full measure as you keep your eyes on Him. In Jesus' name, Amen.
