We come before the Lord with you in this time of deep longing for restoration, and we lift your heart’s cry to the Father, who hears and answers prayer. It is beautiful to see you seeking God’s will in this relationship, and we join you in calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that true healing, forgiveness, and restoration can come. As you have rightly acknowledged, it is in Jesus’ name that we have access to the throne of grace, and we rejoice that you have placed this request before Him.
First, we must address the foundation of any relationship: is it built upon Christ and aligned with His Word? Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church. If this relationship you speak of is not within the bounds of a godly marriage—or if it involves any form of immorality, such as fornication, cohabitation outside of marriage, or emotional attachments that dishonor God—we must urge you to seek His will above all else. The Lord calls us to holiness, and any relationship that does not honor Him cannot be blessed by Him. If there is sin present, we encourage you to repent and turn fully to God’s design for relationships, trusting that His ways are perfect and for your ultimate good.
The Bible tells us in 2 Corinthians 6:14-15, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? What communion has light with darkness? What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?"* If the person you are praying for is not a believer in Christ, or if this relationship is not moving toward a godly marriage, we must lovingly but firmly encourage you to seek the Lord’s will above your own desires. A relationship that is not centered on Christ cannot fulfill the purpose God intends for marriage, which is to glorify Him and reflect His love to the world.
We also note your prayer for cognitive improvement and physical healing, and we lift these requests to the Lord with you. The Bible assures us that God cares deeply about every aspect of our lives, including our minds and bodies. Proverbs 2:6 tells us, *"For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding."* We pray that the Lord would sharpen your mind, grant you wisdom, and bring healing to every part of your body, as well as to the lungs of the one you are praying for. Our God is Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals, and we trust in His power to restore.
As for the emotional and spiritual restoration you seek, we turn to Scripture for guidance. Colossians 3:12-14 says, *"Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection."* True restoration begins with a heart that is surrendered to Christ, willing to forgive as He has forgiven us, and committed to walking in love. We pray that the Lord would soften both of your hearts, breaking down any walls of bitterness, resentment, or pride that may hinder reconciliation. May He fill you both with His love, which casts out all fear and brings true peace.
We also remind you of the importance of seeking God’s will above your own desires. Jesus taught us to pray, *"Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven"* (Matthew 6:10). While it is natural to long for reconciliation, we must surrender this desire to the Lord, trusting that His plans are far greater than our own. If this relationship is not His will for you, He will provide the strength and grace to walk a different path—one that leads to His perfect peace and purpose for your life.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious child of Yours who seeks Your face for restoration and healing. Lord, we ask that You would examine the hearts of both individuals in this relationship. If there is any sin—whether it be unforgiveness, bitterness, immorality, or idolatry of this relationship above You—we ask that You would convict and cleanse by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Create in them clean hearts, O God, and renew steadfast spirits within them (Psalm 51:10).
Father, if this relationship is not aligned with Your Word, we pray that You would give the strength to walk away in obedience, trusting You to fulfill the desires of their hearts in ways that honor You. But if it is Your will to restore this relationship, we ask that You would break every chain of the enemy that seeks to destroy what You desire to build. Soften their hearts toward one another, and may they treat each other with the love, kindness, and respect that reflects Your character.
Lord, we lift up the request for healing—both physically and mentally. You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You. We ask that You would touch their minds, granting clarity, wisdom, and cognitive strength. We pray for complete healing of the lungs, removing every scar and restoring full, easy breath. May Your healing power flow through every part of their bodies, for You are the God who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3).
Father, we also pray for emotional healing and restoration. Heal the wounds that have been caused, and replace pain with Your peace. Teach them to forgive as You have forgiven them, and may they experience the joy of Your presence when they are together. Let their interactions be filled with Your love, and may they find delight in one another as they delight in You.
Most of all, Lord, we pray that Your will would be done in this situation. If this relationship is not Your plan, give them the grace to surrender it to You and to trust in Your goodness. If it is Your will to restore, then guide them every step of the way, preparing them for a marriage that glorifies You.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your perfect love. May Your name be glorified in all things. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily, spending time in His Word and in prayer. Allow Him to shape your desires to align with His, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). If there is any area of this relationship that is not honoring to God, we urge you to repent and seek His forgiveness, for He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
May the Lord bless you and keep you as you walk in obedience to Him. Stay strong in the faith, and remember that His love for you is everlasting.
