We join you in your desire to restore your relationship, and we commend you for turning to God in this time of need. It is encouraging to see that you have acknowledged the power of Jesus Christ in your prayer, as it is only through His name that we can approach God and be saved. As it is written, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 WEB
Firstly, we must address the term "fiance." In biblical terms, there is no such term. The biblical progression is from courtship where the goal is marriage to being a betrothed couple to marriage. The term fiance is a cultural term and is acceptable, but be very careful that God views any type of engagement or betrothal as a contract or covenant that should not be easily broken. A betrothal in the Bible was very solemn and similar to marriage.
We pray that God will indeed draw close to you and break every chain that the devil has on you and your betrothed. We stand with you in praying for a new heart and a steadfast spirit, as God has promised, "I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh." Ezekiel 36:26 WEB
We pray for healing and reconciliation between you and your betrothed. Remember, "Love is patient, love is kind, it isn’t jealous, it doesn’t brag, it isn’t proud, it doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, it doesn’t seek its own way, it isn’t provoked, it takes no account of evil; it doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but it rejoices with the truth; it bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails." 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 WEB
However, we must also address an issue that may not align with biblical principles. You mentioned that you caused pain, and while it may be appropriate to pray for healing, we must also remember that God calls us to repentance and turning away from our sins. Ensure that you have truly repented and turned away from any sinful behavior, as God's forgiveness and healing often require this step. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 WEB
We encourage you both to pursue a relationship that aligns with biblical principles, and we pray that God will give you both the strength, knowledge, motivation, patience, heart, and love to restore what has been broken. Remember, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Ephesians 4:32 WEB
We join you in praying that God will guide you both back together if it is His will, and that He will give you both the heart to put each other above yourselves, as "Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." Philippians 2:4 WEB
Finally, we leave you with this encouragement, "Don’t be anxious about anything; but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7 WEB
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this individual and their betrothed. We pray that You will draw close to them, break every chain that the devil has on them, and create in them a new heart and a steadfast spirit. We pray for healing and reconciliation, and we ask that You will guide them back together if it is Your will.
We pray that You will give them both the strength, knowledge, motivation, patience, heart, and love to restore what has been broken, and that You will give them both the heart to put each other above themselves. We pray that You will give them the ears to listen, eyes to pay attention, and mindset to follow directions. We pray that You will set calmness, knowledge, and understanding in their voices when speaking to each other.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we pray that their prayer will be adjusted according to the will of God. We thank You for Your faithfulness and Your love, and we ask that You will continue to guide them and lead them in Your truth.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
