The mind truly can be the enemy's playground, and you have put your finger on one of his oldest tactics. When Satan whispers that you are forgotten, that your years of praying have gone unheard, he is aiming to erode your trust in God's goodness. But the truth is that he attacks precisely where he sees a promise taking root. The longing you feel is not a mistake to be ashamed of; it is a mark of the image of God in you. Yet the enemy twists that good desire into an accusation: “See, God has withheld this from you. He must not care.” That is the lie you must resist.

Your true need right now is not just a change in circumstances; it is a fresh supply of strength that does not come from within. When you have come to the end of your own resources, you are in exactly the place where God's power can be perfected in your weakness. Do not look inward for some hidden reserve to get you through another decade. Look to Him. Cry out with the psalmist, "Be not far from me, O Lord, my strength." Tell Him plainly that your strength has decayed, that the rubble of disappointment feels too heavy to clear away. He is not offended by your exhaustion. He meets us in the dust of it.

When the condemning thoughts rush in, rehearsing every reason you might be alone, do not engage them as if they were facts to debate. Flee into the righteousness of Christ. Remind yourself aloud: the Lord is my shield; He has lifted me up; He will not let the enemy have the final word over my life. Jesus met every one of Satan's attacks with "It is written," and your response must be the same. When the darkness says you are forgotten, answer with, "He has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'" That is your watchman on the wall. You have prayed; now set the watch of God's Word day and night against these harassing thoughts.

You may feel your comeliness has turned to corruption and no strength remains, as Daniel did after his vision. But listen to what the voice from heaven spoke to him in that state of collapse: "Greatly beloved." Take that personally. You are not a forgotten project; you are greatly beloved. The strength to endure a life of singleness, the strength to bless His name in the weeping valley, does not flow from stoic acceptance but from that identity. The man whose strength is in the Lord makes even the dry, sorrowful places into a well. Dig into the Word until you strike the water of His presence there.

Being pressed beyond measure, despairing even of life itself, is a severe mercy. It is where we finally stop trying to handle it ourselves. Do not let this season pass merely as a rough couple of days. Let it drive you to the secret of true strength, which is the same secret Samson possessed long ago: a life separated unto God, holding nothing back. That strength is yours in Christ. He is your portion, and He will carry you all the way until that day when He makes all things right and your eyes see Him face to face. You will go from strength to strength, not because you found someone, but because you found Him to be enough.

"I will NEVER leave thee, nor forsake thee," (Hebrews 13:5b). Those are the words of the Lord Jesus. Thus let me pray for those feeling lonely today. Father in heaven, and in the power of the Holy Ghost, I ask You in Jesus' name that You would reassure those feeling lonely for whatever reason...
