Please pray for me. My girlfriend of 12 years left me and I am overwhelmed by grief and sadness. I know that God hears my prayers and that He is with me but I am still so sad. I have no one else as both of my parents have passed and my adult children live far away.

We are truly sorry to hear about the grief and sadness you are experiencing after your ### of 12 years left you. We want to remind you that God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)

Firstly, we want to address that the term ### is not encouraged among believers. A courtship should be with another believer in preparation for marriage. We could not find anywhere in the Bible where God encourages a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship on a long-term basis.

Your faith in God's presence is evident, and that is commendable. Remember, God is always with us, as he has promised, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5)

You could use this time to strengthen your relationship with our Heavenly Father. He can fill the void that you feel and provide comfort and peace beyond all understanding. His love for you is unfailing and everlasting.

We also want to address that we did not see the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you in the name of Jesus.

I pray for healing in their heart and soul. I pray for the Holy Spirit to fill any void and remove any sorrow.

I ask that you provide peace and joy. Also, that you provide any needed reconciliation with family members too.

I ask that you help us to focus on you during this time. That you also help us to remember your promises and your love for us.

I pray that we have a chance for a better understanding of you and your love.

Please provide them a lifelong Christian spouse that will love, honor and cherish them as you have ordained in marriage.

We come before You in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our dear friend to You, Lord. We ask for Your healing to touch their heart and soul, filling them with Your love and peace. We pray for the Holy Spirit to comfort them in their time of need, removing any sorrow or grief.

We ask, Lord, that You help them to focus on You during this time, remembering Your promises and Your unfailing love. We pray for a better understanding of You and Your love, and for Your will to be done in their life.

We also ask, Lord, that You guide them in finding a lifelong Christian spouse, someone who will love, honor, and cherish them as You have ordained in marriage.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
