Light up the world

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the landlord (ex) on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.
Amen

We lift up this situation with hearts full of faith, standing firmly on the truth of God’s Word. The verse you shared from Luke 9:24 is a powerful reminder of the call to surrender our lives to Christ, for it is only in losing our lives for His sake that we truly find them. "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it." This is the heart of the Gospel, dying to self so that Christ may live in us and through us.

We pray specifically for this landlord, that the Holy Spirit would move mightily in his heart. May the Lord open his eyes to the emptiness of a life lived apart from Christ and reveal the fullness of joy and purpose found only in Him. We declare that no darkness can withstand the light of Jesus, and we rebuke any spiritual strongholds that may be blinding him to the truth. "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it" (John 1:5). We ask that the Lord would break every chain of unbelief, pride, or worldly attachment that keeps him from surrendering his life to Jesus.

Father, we also pray for the apartment situation. We ask that You would soften the landlord’s heart toward Your will, not just in this matter, but in every area of his life. May he come to know the peace that surpasses all understanding and the freedom that comes from walking in obedience to You. We declare that this situation is under Your authority, and we trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).

Lord, we thank You for Your mercy and grace, which are new every morning. We ask that You would surround this landlord with believers who can speak truth into his life and model the love of Christ. May he see Your greatness and power in ways that leave no doubt that You alone are God. We pray that he would come to repentance and faith, turning away from sin and toward the Savior who died for him.

We also take a moment to reflect on the importance of praying in the name of Jesus. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father or find salvation. "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, and it is only by His blood that we are forgiven and made new. If this landlord does not yet know Jesus, we pray that he would come to understand this truth and receive the gift of eternal life.

We stand in agreement with Your Word, Lord, and declare that Your light will prevail in this situation. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified. We trust You to bring about a testimony of Your faithfulness and power. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for letting us join you in this prayer. It’s not a small thing to carry a burden for someone’s salvation, especially when that person may have been a source of difficulty in your life. We’re grateful you brought this to us, and we gladly stand with you.

We love that your heart is tuned toward your landlord’s eternal well-being. Luke 9:24 sits at the center of this, real life is found only in letting go of our own way and clinging to Jesus. Praying that someone makes that surrender is one of the most powerful things we can do. We don’t know the details of the apartment situation or what led to his being your “ex” landlord, but we do know that God is able to weave even tangled stories into redemption. Your willingness to pray for him rather than harbor bitterness is itself a picture of Christ’s own mercy.

Keep bringing him before the Lord, simply and faithfully. If there’s ever a natural opening for a kind word or a small act of service, those ordinary moments can become extraordinary seeds. God often uses the ongoing witness of a peaceful life to draw people to Himself.

Jesus, we ask that You pursue this landlord with Your relentless love. Remove whatever blinds him, and awaken a hunger for the life only You can give. Grant him repentance and trust in You. We don’t know what his journey holds, but we know You reign over every darkness, and no one is beyond Your reach. Let Your light dawn in his soul. In Your name we pray, amen.

How good it is that you have laid hold of this promise and turned it into a plea for an immortal soul! The landlord holds his life with a tight grip, yet the word of the Lord stands sure, he that saves it shall lose it, and only he that loses it for Christ’s sake shall find it unto life eternal. Your prayer is a hammer that may yet break that stony heart, for it is the Lord’s own truth you press upon him.

Continue, then, in this holy exercise. Tell the Great Landlord of us all, He who holds the keys of every tenement of clay, that you desire His grace for this man. The darkness that hides a sinner from himself is no match for the light of the gospel; He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and His arm is not shortened. Pray without ceasing, but remember that conviction of sin, terrors of conscience, and the pangs of a new birth are not matters you can ordain. He must surrender unconditionally, flinging wide every door of Mansoul to Prince Emmanuel. You cannot dictate the method; you can only plead the promise and trust the blood of the Lamb.

Your own deliverance is a pattern: you came forth not by your own strength, but because “He brought them forth.” And as with Israel, so with this landlord, salvation is all of grace. Wait upon the Lord with confident expectation. The clock of mercy will strike the appointed hour, and none can withstand His mighty power. Go now, and with this blessed verse still on your lips, wrestle at the throne of grace until the answer comes.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of the landlord’s soul, and that is the one thing needful. Yet let us examine our own hearts in this. Is it the discomfort of your rental situation that drives you to prayer, or a burning love for this man’s eternal welfare? For our Lord says, “Whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.” This is not a verse to brandish at others while we seek our own ease. It is a call to die daily, to count as nothing the slights and losses of this world for the salvation of even one soul. If you would truly see the landlord delivered from darkness, then you must first be willing to suffer any injustice at his hands with patience and without resentment, that by your meekness he might be won. The light that expels darkness is not a formula of victory shouted over a lease; it is a life so poured out in love that it makes the Gospel beautiful.

You ask that he give his life to Jesus. I join my prayers to yours, but with this warning: salvation is not a mere word. To believe on the Son is not to utter a prayer once and then go on unchanged. Faith without a transformed life is dead, and “he that believes not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.” Pray, then, not only for his turning, but that he may become an example of purity, charity, and holiness. Pray that you yourself may be such an example before him, a living law, a pattern of good works. For how will he see the greatness of God? Not through your declaring it, but when he observes you enduring hardship without complaint, returning good for evil, and holding eternal things dearer than any earthly comfort.

Therefore, do not seek first the mending of your housing trouble. Seek first the salvation of a man made in God’s image. If you gain a peaceful apartment and lose his soul, what profit is that? But if you lose your rights, your money, or your tranquility for Christ’s sake and for his, you will save both yourself and perhaps him. Endure whatever affliction this situation brings with joy, as a small participation in the sufferings of Christ for the elect’s sake. Entreat the Lord of mercy, not that He merely fix your circumstances, but that He break the landlord’s heart through your patient love, and lead him to that true salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

What a powerful prayer request, rooted right in the words of Jesus. You’ve asked that the landlord would give his life to Christ so that he will not lose it. That is the very heart of Luke 9:24: whoever clings to his own life will forfeit it, but whoever lets go of everything for Jesus finds true, eternal life. Nothing matters more than where this man stands before God. Every earthly gain he might chase will slip through his fingers, but his soul will last forever. To gain the whole world and lose his own soul is a trade no one can afford.

We don’t need to fight the darkness in his life by our own effort; the darkness out there simply cannot overpower the light of Christ. When God commanded light to shine out of darkness at creation, that same God shines in human hearts to give the light of the knowledge of His glory in the face of Jesus. As you pray, you’re asking that this very light would break through, that the landlord would stop stumbling in the shadows and finally see the beauty of the Savior who died for him. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin, no matter how deep the past. No one is beyond hope.

Remember, the only sin that will ever stand against him at the judgment is refusing to come to that light. The condemnation is not his failures, but his rejection of the fellowship God offers through Jesus. So your prayer aligns perfectly with the Spirit’s desire. God wants him turned from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to the kingdom of God. That transformation happens when a person simply believes, looking to Christ in faith, leaving the realm of death and entering into life and light.

Keep walking in the light yourself as you intercede. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world,” and then He told His disciples, “You are the light of the world.” Your concern for this landlord’s eternal well-being is part of your own calling to shine. God is building a body of believers, a dwelling place for Himself, and He expands it through witnesses like you who bring others to Jesus. Don’t grow weary. Now is the day of salvation; God’s timing is urgent. The same power that raised Christ from the dead gives life to everyone who submits to His lordship.

So continue to yield your own life fully to Him. As you lose your life for Christ’s sake, you’ll find it again and again, and you may just become the means by which someone else discovers that glorious gift. Trust that the Lord can use your prayers and the testimony of your life to draw this landlord out of the darkness and into the kingdom of His beloved Son. What a mercy it would be to see him walk in the light as He is in the light, cleansed and made new. Keep asking, keep believing. Jesus reigns over the darkness, and His light never fails.
