Lifting us our relationship 🙏

Craurath

Servant of All
Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your goodness and for hearing my prayers. I praise you for opening this door and leading us to connect through our video call, and I thank you for answering my prayers by making a way for me to visit him in the US soon. Thank you for guiding our steps and bringing RMP into my life.

Lord, I commit this new relationship and our future plans into your hands. I ask that your will and your ways be done above all else. Please touch RMP's heart and mind. Stir a genuine romance and a deep spark within him toward me. If it is your will, let this relationship grow deep and serious, to the point where he openly and out loud declares his love for me. I pray that he sees the value in me, feels a true connection, and views me as a perfect fit for his life.

I pray that you shape him into a man with the heart of a provider—someone who is kind, loving, and ready to be a wonderful partner to me and a loving stepdad to my boys.

Father, we lift up to you our plans to apply for my US Visa. I ask for your divine guidance and order in every step of this application process. Please grant wisdom to both of us as we prepare the documents and requirements. I pray for favor with the consular officer, and I ask that you remove any obstacles or anxieties. May your will be done, and if it is your timing, please grant the approval of my visa so that I can safely travel to visit him.

Father, I lay my deepest desires before you: our upcoming visit, our future together, marriage, a petition to join him in the US, and a united family with my boys as his stepsons. I trust these dreams to your perfect timing and your perfect plan. Guide our steps, protect our hearts, and let your peace lead us every day.

In Jesus' name, I pray.

Amen.

We hear your heartfelt prayer and the deep longing you have for this relationship to grow according to God’s will. It is beautiful to see your trust in the Lord’s guidance and your desire for His perfect plan to unfold. However, we must gently but firmly address some concerns that do not align with biblical principles, while also lifting you and this situation before the throne of grace in prayer.

First, we notice that while you mention Jesus’ name at the end of your prayer, the focus of your request leans heavily on your own desires for romance, validation, and a future together, even down to specifics like RMP declaring his love for you openly. While it is natural to desire companionship and love, we must remember that our prayers should ultimately seek God’s will above our own (Matthew 6:10, "Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven"). The Lord’s plans for us are higher than our own (Isaiah 55:8-9, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways," says Yahweh. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts"). We encourage you to surrender this relationship fully to Him, trusting that if it is His will, He will bring it to fruition in His perfect timing and way.

Second, we must address the nature of this relationship. You mention a "new relationship" and a desire for RMP to become a "wonderful partner" and a "loving stepdad" to your boys. If this relationship is not yet a marriage, we must rebuke any assumption that it is acceptable to pursue a romantic or physical connection outside of the covenant of marriage. Scripture is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"). If you and RMP are not married, we strongly encourage you to guard your hearts and bodies, ensuring that your relationship honors God in purity and holiness. Courtship should always have the goal of marriage, and until that covenant is made, physical and emotional boundaries must be maintained to avoid falling into sin (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God").

We also want to gently remind you that marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). It is not merely about companionship or convenience but about two believers coming together in unity to serve the Lord and raise a godly family. If RMP is not a believer, we must caution you against pursuing a relationship with him, as Scripture warns against being "unequally yoked" with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"). If he is a believer, we pray that the Lord would draw him closer to Himself and prepare his heart for the responsibilities of marriage and fatherhood.

Regarding your visa application, we join you in praying for God’s guidance and favor. The Lord is sovereign over all things, including the decisions of governments and officials (Proverbs 21:1, "The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires"). We pray that if it is His will, He would open the door for you to visit RMP and that every step of the process would be ordered by Him. However, we also encourage you to trust in His timing, even if the outcome is not what you currently desire. His plans for you are good, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future").

Let us now lift this situation before the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your will above all else. Lord, we thank You for the way You have worked in this sister’s life and for the desires You have placed in her heart. We ask that You would align her desires with Yours, that she may seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Father, we pray for this relationship with RMP. If it is Your will for them to be together, we ask that You would prepare both of their hearts for marriage, that they would grow in love for You and for one another in a way that honors You. Lord, if this relationship is not of You, we ask that You would make that clear and give her the strength to let go, trusting in Your perfect plan.

Father, we pray for purity and holiness in this relationship. Guard their hearts and minds from temptation, and help them to honor You in all they do. If they are not yet married, we ask that You would help them to set godly boundaries and to pursue You above all else. Lord, we also pray for RMP’s faith. If he does not know You, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself and reveal Your love to him. If he is a believer, we pray that You would strengthen his faith and prepare him to be the husband and father You have called him to be.

Father, we lift up the visa application process to You. We ask that You would grant wisdom and favor, and that every step would be ordered by You. If it is Your will for her to visit the US, we pray that You would open the door and remove any obstacles. If it is not Your will, we ask that You would give her peace and trust in Your plan, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).

Lord, we surrender this relationship, this visa process, and this sister’s future into Your hands. May Your will be done in every detail, and may she find her joy and fulfillment in You alone. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word, allowing Him to shape your desires and guide your steps. Remember that your worth and identity are found in Christ alone, not in any relationship or circumstance (Ephesians 1:4-5, "Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love, having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire"). Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths").

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
