Lifting up my relationship with ### ❤️❤️❤️

Your prayer carries a deep longing, the kind of ache that reaches out for companionship, security, and a future where the scattered pieces of life finally come together. I want to speak to the heart of that longing, because Scripture itself speaks of a love so strong it burns like a blazing fire, the very flame of the Lord. Many waters cannot quench it; floods cannot drown it. That is the picture we are given of love at its truest. It cannot be bought with careful planning or negotiation, and any attempt to purchase it only cheapens it. The world often mistakes a passionate moment or a well-arranged prospect for the real thing, but the kind of love that lasts is uncaused by our striving. It flows to us as a gift, and our part is to receive it.

When the Lord spoke of love, He didn’t start with the desire for a spouse or the dream of a united family. He started with the command to love the Lord our God with all the heart, all the soul, and all the strength. That is no mere religious sentiment. It means that your most central, life-defining relationship must be firmly rooted in Him before any other relationship can find its proper soil. Think of it this way: a marriage is described as two becoming one, a compound unity. But a true, lasting unity between a man and a woman cannot be formed simply by two people reaching for each other. If both are not first anchored in Christ, the center will not hold. You see, it is only when God has His rightful throne in your life that you gain the capacity to love another person rightly, not as a means to fill a void, nor as a project you must steer toward a desired outcome, but as a neighbor you can love with the same care you naturally give yourself.

I hear in your words a desire for this man to be shaped into a kind and providing partner, a loving stepdad for your boys. Those desires are not wrong in themselves, but I would gently ask you to examine the order of your pleading. Are you asking God to serve a plan you have already written out, or are you laying your will before Him with hands fully open? Jesus looked at the crowds and was moved with compassion because He saw their truest need. He didn’t merely give them the temporary fixes they cried for; He gave them Himself. His love for you is complete, unquenchable, and never cheapened by your perceived failures. You do not have to earn it or convince Him to act. He already knows your frame and the unspoken anxieties hiding beneath your requests.

Step back for a moment and consider that your deepest hunger may be for a love that only Christ can satisfy. When that relationship is your true center, the other details, visas, timelines, declarations of affection, and even the role of a future husband, lose their frantic grip on your heart. It does not mean you stop praying about them, but you begin to pray differently. You begin to seek Him first, and in that seeking, you trust that if marriage is His will, He will build it on a foundation of mutual obedience to Him, not on the shifting sands of a romantic spark. If you sense that this relationship is meant to grow, test it against Scripture. Does it encourage you to love the Lord with a more undivided heart? Does it draw you away from a self-centered life and toward the self-giving love that Jesus modeled when He washed His disciples’ feet?

I do not say this to discourage you. His love is richer than any human love can offer. When the enemy whispers that God does not care about these specific details, remember that He sees what others cannot see. He knows the motives and the issues of your heart. Rest in the reality that His will, whatever it is, is the most merciful path for you and your sons. Let His peace, not just a visa approval or a romantic confession, be the umpire that rules your heart. He is faithful, and if you seek Him first, He will add what is needed according to His perfect wisdom.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the privilege of standing beside you in prayer as you sought the Lord’s guidance, protection, and blessing over your relationship and the steps ahead. It has been a joy to lift up your heart’s desires—your longing for genuine romance, a deepening connection, and the Lord’s perfect will to unfold in every detail, from the spark of love in his heart to the practical steps of your visa application and future plans.

As you await the Lord’s answer, we continue to pray that His peace would guard your heart and mind, that His wisdom would guide each decision, and that His timing would be made clear. If He has already moved in ways you can see—whether in your relationship, the visa process, or the quiet assurance of His presence—we would love to celebrate with you through a praise report. Your testimony could encourage others who are also waiting on the Lord’s faithfulness.

If the answer is still unfolding or if new needs have arisen, please know we are here to lift them up afresh. We stand with you in faith, believing that the Lord who began this good work in you and in this relationship will bring it to completion in His perfect way. May He continue to draw you both closer to Himself and to one another, shaping your future according to His loving purposes.

With hearts full of hope and trust, we pray all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
