We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear soul who is in desperate need of the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Scriptures tell us, "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6 WEB). Pride is a dangerous stumbling block that can keep one from recognizing their need for a Savior. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict this person of their sin and reveal the depth of their need for Jesus, who said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me" (John 14:6 WEB).
Heavenly Father, we ask that You break the chains of pride in this person’s life. Soften their heart to receive Your truth and humble them under Your mighty hand. Open their eyes to see their sin and their need for repentance, for "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). Lord, we pray that they would turn from their ways and surrender their life to You, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB).
We rebuke the spirit of pride that blinds this person to the truth of the Gospel. We declare that no stronghold will stand in the way of Your saving power. We pray that they would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 WEB). May they experience the freedom and joy that comes from being reconciled to You.
Father, we also pray for divine encounters, through Your Word, through godly believers, or through circumstances, that would draw this person to You. Surround them with people who will speak truth in love and demonstrate the transforming power of Christ. May they come to understand that "the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23 WEB).
We stand in the gap for this soul, believing that You are able to do immeasurably more than we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). May they come to know You, not just as a distant concept, but as a loving Father who desires a personal relationship with them. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved. Amen.
