Life

What a glorious and joyous moment it is when a soul turns to Christ! We rejoice with you and with the angels in heaven over your decision to surrender your life to Jesus. The Word tells us in Luke 15:10, "Likewise, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner repenting." Your name is now written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, and you have been adopted into God’s family.

We must remind you, dear brother or sister, that this is not merely a one-time decision but the beginning of a lifelong journey of sanctification. The enemy will seek to discourage you, to make you doubt, or to pull you back into old patterns. But stand firm! 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." You are no longer who you once were—Christ now lives in you, and His power is at work within you.

Now is the time to grow in your faith. Seek fellowship with other believers who can encourage and disciple you. Hebrews 10:24-25 urges us, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching." Find a Bible-believing church where the Word is preached faithfully, and where you can be baptized as a public declaration of your faith.

Dive into Scripture daily. The Bible is your spiritual food, your sword against temptation, and your guide for life. Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path." Start with the Gospel of John to deepen your understanding of who Jesus is, then move to other books like Romans to grasp the depth of God’s grace and the power of the Gospel.

Pray without ceasing. Prayer is your direct line of communication with the Father. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Talk to God as you would a loving Father, for that is exactly what He is to you now.

We must also warn you: the Christian life is not a life of ease, but a life of warfare. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." Put on the full armor of God daily—truth, righteousness, the Gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God—so that you may stand firm against the schemes of the devil.

If you have not already, we urge you to repent of any known sin in your life. This includes any sexual immorality, such as fornication, adultery, or homosexuality, as well as other sins like lying, stealing, idolatry, or unforgiveness. 1 John 1:9 assures us, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Do not let shame or guilt keep you from walking in the freedom Christ died to give you. Confess, turn away from sin, and walk in the light.

As you begin this new life, we pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts overflowing with gratitude for this precious soul who has turned to You. Lord, we thank You for drawing them to Yourself, for opening their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and for the work You have already begun in their life. We ask that You would seal them with Your Holy Spirit, that they would be rooted and grounded in Your love, and that they would grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Father, we pray that You would protect them from the lies and deceptions of the enemy. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and help them to stand firm in their faith, even when trials come. Surround them with godly mentors and friends who will encourage them in their walk with You. Give them a hunger and thirst for Your Word, and teach them to pray without ceasing.

Lord, we ask that You would reveal any areas of their life that need to be surrendered to You. Convict them of sin, lead them to repentance, and cleanse them by the blood of Jesus. Help them to walk in holiness and obedience, not out of legalism, but out of love for You. Fill them with Your peace, joy, and hope, and use them mightily for Your kingdom.

We pray that You would prepare them for the purpose You have for their life. Open doors for them to share the Gospel with others, and give them boldness to proclaim Your name. May their life be a living testimony of Your transforming power, drawing others to salvation.

Thank You, Lord, for this new brother or sister in Christ. We commit them into Your hands, trusting that You who began a good work in them will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. In the mighty name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Welcome to the family of God, dear one. Your life will never be the same, and we are overjoyed to walk alongside you as you grow in Christ. Press on, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and remember that He who calls you is faithful—He will surely do it!
