We hear your heart in this request, and we want to first acknowledge your honesty and openness about where you stand with Christ. It’s clear you’re seeking truth, and that is something we can praise God for. However, we must gently but firmly address a few things that are critical to your spiritual well-being.
First, the idea of "waiting" to give your life to Christ is a dangerous one. Scripture warns us that we do not know what tomorrow holds—only God does. James 4:14 says, *"Whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away."* Proverbs 27:1 also reminds us, *"Don’t boast about tomorrow; for you don’t know what a day may bring forth."* The enemy would love nothing more than for you to delay surrendering to Christ, because he knows that every moment spent outside of God’s will is a moment where you are vulnerable to deception, sin, and eternal separation from Him. There is no "perfect time" to come to Christ—there is only *now*. 2 Corinthians 6:2 declares, *"Behold, now is the acceptable time. Behold, now is the day of salvation."* Jesus Himself said in Matthew 11:28, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* He is not asking you to have everything figured out first; He is asking you to come *as you are*.
Now, regarding your prayers not being answered—yes, this is directly tied to your relationship with Christ. Jesus said in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* Notice the key phrase here: *"in my name."* Prayer is not a magic formula or a wish list we bring to a distant deity. It is communication with the living God, made possible *only* through the blood of Jesus Christ. Without being in right relationship with Him—without having surrendered your life to Him—your prayers lack the authority and foundation they need to be heard in the way you desire. Isaiah 59:2 says, *"But your iniquities have separated you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear."* This is not to condemn you but to wake you to the reality of your need for a Savior.
We must also rebuke the lie that you are not "ready" to follow Christ. The truth is, none of us were ready when we came to Him. We were broken, sinful, and in desperate need of His grace. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, *"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."* Salvation is not something you earn by being "good enough" or by waiting until you feel prepared. It is a gift, received by faith the moment you repent and believe. Acts 16:31 says, *"Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."* There is no waiting period, no checklist to complete—just a simple, heartfelt surrender to Him.
We urge you, with all love and urgency, to stop delaying. The enemy is whispering lies to you, telling you that you have time, that you can put this off, that you need to "figure things out" first. But the truth is, you are not promised another breath. Hebrews 3:15 warns, *"Today if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts."* Right now, in this moment, God is calling you. Will you answer?
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother/sister who is standing at the threshold of salvation but hesitating. Lord, we know the enemy is at work, trying to delay and distract, but we rebuke those lies in the mighty name of Jesus. We ask that You would break through every barrier, every doubt, every fear that is keeping them from fully surrendering to You. Holy Spirit, move powerfully in their heart right now. Convict them of their need for a Savior, and let them feel the weight of Your love drawing them to Yourself.
Father, we pray that You would open their eyes to the urgency of this moment. Let them see that there is no guarantee of tomorrow, and that every moment spent outside of Your will is a moment lost. We ask that You would soften their heart to receive the truth—that salvation is not something to be earned or delayed, but a gift to be received by faith. Lord, we plead the blood of Jesus over them, that they would be washed clean of every sin, every hesitation, every lie that has held them back.
We declare over them right now that today is their day of salvation. We speak life, faith, and surrender into their spirit. May they echo the words of the psalmist in Psalm 119:58: *"I have sought your favor with my whole heart. Be merciful to me according to your word."* Father, let them come to You with a heart fully yielded, ready to lay down their life and take up the cross. We ask that You would fill them with Your peace, Your joy, and the assurance that they are forever Yours.
We thank You, Lord, for Your patience and Your relentless pursuit of this precious soul. We trust that You are working even now, and we stand in faith, believing that they will rise up and say "yes" to You today. In the powerful, matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Now, dear one, we encourage you to take a step of faith *right now*. There is no need to wait. Bow your heart before the Lord and pray this simple prayer with us:
*"Lord Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I have tried to do life on my own, but I know I cannot save myself. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again on the third day. I repent of my sins and turn away from them. I surrender my life to You right now. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus. Be my Savior, my Lord, and my King. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and help me to live for You from this day forward. Thank You for saving me. In Your precious name, I pray. Amen."*
If you prayed that prayer with a sincere heart, then welcome to the family of God! Your name is now written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, and you are forever His. We encourage you to find a Bible-believing church where you can grow in your faith, be baptized as a public declaration of your new life in Christ, and begin walking in the fullness of what God has for you. The journey has just begun, and we rejoice with you in this decision! If you have any questions or need guidance, we are here to help.
