Levels of sin

Interesting. At the fall, after Adam and Eve we got our sin natures. I got that. And it happened to everybody.BUT, here's the mystery{to me,at least}.If everyone inherited the sin nature, you would think all the unsaved are on equal footing, and would have an equal level of sin.But no.Because although sin is sin,one sinner may commit less "serious" sins than another.like, one unsaved person, obviously, since the fall, inherited the sin nature, but when they hear of someone commiting a VIOLENT sin, like stabbing someone to death after a robbery, etc. the other unsaved person would find it disgusting.Like I've heard some unsaved people who think {and rightly so}that adultery is a sleazy thing. Now here's the question--if an unsaved person is in a fallen state, I would think that they in that state wouldn't know right from wrong, to recognize that the other one is doing wrong by {being on drugs, killing someone, etc.}You would think that an unsaved persons judgement is off because of their own sin nature, but no. This shows me that there are levels of sin, and not all unsaved people commit really "over the top" sins.It also makes me think of what I've heard some Christians say, about degrees of punishment in hell.So how can the sinful state fall on all of us, yet some have more "extreme" sins than others?

(I am not sure about punishment in Mhell thing because it is not written (or at least i think) in the Bible how things look like really)
Natasha, this I read in your answer about hell.

No, it's clearly written about hell in the Bible and what is there in it.

Please read Mathew about the fire in hell :
Mathew 18.9, 5:22, and the same in Mark.

Also read Mark 9: 48 - about worms and fire

Matthew 18:9
And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.

Matthew 5:22
Matthew 5:22 King James Version (KJV)
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Mark 9:48 King James Version (KJV)
48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

I dont know Mava, what is here clear explained, but i dont see levels of punishement here. Please read all comments before you comment anything. I dont know what is clear here?

I have quoted about the hell fire which you said how things look like in hell. I think I have read correctly and quoted. Sorry, I'm not here to argue.

1 John 5
16.
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
17.
All unrhiteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
18. We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

From these verses I understand there are two levels of sins i.e, sin unto death and sin not unto death.

Saved or unsaved, sin is a sin but according to these Bible verses two levels are given.

Obviously you are here to argue. The subject was punishment in hell and how it will look like in hell, are there levels (not only two like Dante describes it or similar). I don't know why people want to discuss and they are not staying even on the subject. And I have already mentioned sin against the Holy spirit which is unpardonable. You have every right to beleive what is written in the scripture but this was not answer to our questions. So stay humble and be blessed.

Matthew 10:28 28Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

2 Peter 2:4 4For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment;

Revelation 20:13-14 13The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. 14Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.

Romans 6:23 23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our LORD.

Mark 9:43-48 43If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. 44 45And if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. 46 47And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48where "'the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched.'

God I ask you in Jesus' name that each and every member of this prayer site (especially the writer of this prayer and myself) will began to search the Scriptures like the people of Berea.
:DActs 17:11: These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
:DThe people of Berea were more open-minded than the people of Thessalonica. They were very willing to receive God's message, and every day they carefully examined the Scriptures to see if what Paul said was true.

Actually....My question was, how one unsaved person{who inherited the fallen nature since the fall themselves} UNDERSTANDS that another who commits a more "extreme" sin like murder is wrong?I would have thought that in their unsaved state they couldn't recognize sin. That's what made me think about "levels of sin."Plus, in Revelation,"And they were judged every one according to their works"{According to THEIR works, individually}My original question was how does one unsaved person realize that the other is sinning,in their own unsaved state? And if God gives them that much understanding, how come it doesn't fall on the one with the "unrestrained nature?"

My original question was how does one unsaved person realize that the other is sinning,in their own unsaved state? And if God gives them that much understanding, how come it doesn't fall on the one with the "unrestrained nature?"

People live what they learn. If they don't know that it is sin then they don't realize that the other is sinning in their own unsaved state. There are people who are saved and know the Word of God and they still practice sin, walk in disobedience, and rebellion to the Word of God.

Look in the Old Testament and see how the people of God acted and reacted toward God. Search the Scriptures like the people of Berea.

Answer: There are two instances in the New Testament when Jesus told someone to “sin no more,” and they were each under very different circumstances. The first is when Jesus healed an invalid by the Pool of Bethesda (John 5:1–15). Afterward, Jesus found the man and told him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you” (verse 14). It is clear that Jesus knew what had caused the man’s condition. We are not told the specifics of the man’s physical impairment, but the context implies that it was caused by sinful choices. Jesus warned the man that he had been given a second chance and that he should make better choices. If the man returned to his sinful behavior, he would have wasted the opportunity Jesus gave him to live whole and forgiven.

The second instance is in the account of the woman taken in the act of adultery (John 8:3–11). When the woman’s accusers brought her before Jesus, expecting Him to pronounce judgment, He told them that the one who was without sin should throw the first stone. One by one, the condemning crowd left. Then Jesus told the woman, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more” (verse 11). She had been caught. She was guilty. She did deserve stoning according to the Law of Moses (Leviticus 20:10; Deuteronomy 22:22). But the religious leaders who had dragged her there had no concern for holiness. They were trying to trap Jesus into saying that the Law did not matter (verse 6).
