Levels of sin

Interesting. At the fall, after Adam and Eve, we got our sin natures. I got that. And it happened to everybody. BUT, here's the mystery {to me, at least}. If everyone inherited the sin nature, you would think all the unsaved are on equal footing, and would have an equal level of sin. But no. Because although sin is sin, one sinner may commit less "serious" sins than another. Like, one unsaved person, obviously, since the fall, inherited the sin nature, but when they hear of someone committing a VIOLENT sin, like stabbing someone to death after a robbery, etc., the other unsaved person would find it disgusting. Like I've heard some unsaved people who think {and rightly so} that adultery is a sleazy thing. Now here's the question--if an unsaved person is in a fallen state, I would think that they in that state wouldn't know right from wrong, to recognize that the other one is doing wrong by {being on drugs, killing someone, etc.} You would think that an unsaved person's judgment is off because of their own sin nature, but no. This shows me that there are levels of sin, and not all unsaved people commit really "over the top" sins. It also makes me think of what I've heard some Christians say, about degrees of punishment in hell. So how can the sinful state fall on all of us, yet some have more "extreme" sins than others?

The only scripture I can think of right now is: to whom is more forgiven he will love more.
I personally think that there is no bigger or smaller sin, there is unforgivable sin, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, and sins against your own flesh, but generally, I never heard in my church talking about bigger or smaller sins. I think it's not good to think like that, because the ones that have "smaller" sins may boast over those who commit "bigger" sins. And the point is not in bigger or smaller things, the point is to observe only yourself in the mirror of the word of God, not looking at other people's lives and judging them, if you know what I mean....
I am not sure about punishment in hell thing because it is not written (or at least I think) in the Bible how things look like really. Maybe some people had visions or death experiences, but how should I know if it's really true?
By the way, one example, if ### repented for his horrible sins and received Jesus as His Lord and savior, he would end up in paradise, can you imagine that?? Talking about bigger and smaller sins.....It is more important to fulfill our destiny and purpose on this earth once we are saved than to concentrate on sins...that's my opinion...God has already erased and forgiven our sins, so we should do that to....Jesus has forgiven to Saul in advance all killings of good Christians because he has prepared an amazing ministry for him....
The laws of this world are made in that way: proper punishment for different degrees of sin. But God is above the law....He is forgiving and full of mercy...he covers sins...we are his sons and daughters...

One statement in the Bible that Jesus said that might apply is, "Some will be beaten with many stripes, and some with few stripes." Some Christians have interpreted this to mean levels of punishment in hell,

Yes, but this also could have meaning of punishment in this world. for disobedience, right?

I think that when you have some opinions, it has to be examined if it brings condemnation or love of God. Freedom or bondage. Fear or faith. I think God is all good so I choose better options.
Yeah, that's another thing, some Christians get bogged down in debating what certain passages mean, I've heard some say, the Rapture is pre-tribulation, but others, mid-tribulation, and others, no rapture at all!! They try to "figure out" who the Antichrist is, or even claim to have figured out the date of Jesus' return!!!

When someone states that he has answers and God says that we will not know the exact date and hour of Jesus' return then he has a problem with pride, he exalts himself against the knowledge of God, and this is rebellion, which is the first sin that Lucifer committed in heaven. People who are obsessed with this or that subject often have no fruits in their lives, they are only obsessed intellectually with things and have no profit of that knowledge. To love God is to obey his word....They need to repent. God is simple, every intellectuality is dangerous. You may be led astray by worldliness or new age, or witchcraft or pride, whatever....I mean I have nothing against the skills and the knowledge in the world, but it cannot be above the knowledge of God and love for Christ. Everything needs to be subjected to the Lord. Jesus is king.
Intellectualism, philosophy these are enemies of God's simple revelations and the word. God is simple, He is not complicated.

Secondly, if you have proofs in the Bible that your opinion is right, (I think it should be at least, two or three scriptures), then you have every right to believe it, God has allowed us to have our opinions and to be even sure of them, (otherwise we even commit a sin) only to allow other people to have their own opinions. This is a skill. I see it more and more in my every day life. To respect other people's opinions if they are not clearly explained in the word.

###, this I read in your answer about hell.

No, it's clearly written about hell in the Bible and what is there in it.

Please read Matthew about the fire in hell:
Matthew 18:9, 5:22, and the same in Mark.

Also read Mark 9:48 - about worms and fire
