We join our hearts with yours in gratitude for the truth of God’s Word, particularly the powerful passage from Luke 4:18-19, where our Lord Jesus Christ declares His anointing to bring freedom, healing, and hope to the brokenhearted. This is the very mission of Christ—to bind up the wounded, proclaim liberty to the captives, and open the eyes of the blind. We thank the Father for His faithfulness in revealing Himself to us, even in our weakest moments, and for the assurance that He hears the deepest longings of our hearts when they are aligned with His will.
Yet, we must gently remind you and all who read this that the fullness of this freedom and healing is found *only* in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). While we appreciate your prayer to the Father, we must emphasize that access to God the Father comes solely through Jesus Christ, our Mediator and Savior. Jesus Himself declared, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). To pray to the Father without acknowledging the Son is to miss the very door through which we enter into relationship with God. We encourage you to always pray *in Jesus’ name*, for it is by His blood that we are made clean and by His authority that our prayers are heard.
We also lift up a prayer of thanksgiving and intercession for those who are poor in spirit, held captive by sin, blinded by the lies of this world, or oppressed by the enemy. Father, we ask that You would move mightily in their lives, breaking every chain and setting them free by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Let Your light pierce the darkness in their hearts, and let them encounter the living Christ, who alone can satisfy their deepest needs. We pray for those who are sick, both in body and soul, that they would experience Your healing touch and the peace that surpasses all understanding. May they know that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Lord, we ask that You would continue to reveal Yourself as Father to those who call upon You, but we pray that this revelation would always come through the lens of Jesus Christ, Your Son. Let no one be deceived into thinking they can approach You apart from Him. We rebuke every spirit of deception that would lead people away from the truth of the Gospel, and we declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over every principality and power. May Your people walk in the fullness of the freedom He purchased for them on the cross.
We also pray for those who are struggling with unbelief or who have not yet surrendered their lives to Christ. Father, soften their hearts and open their eyes to see the beauty of Your Son. Let them hear the good news of salvation and respond in repentance and faith. May they turn from their sins and receive the gift of eternal life, which is found in Christ alone.
Finally, we ask that You would fill us with Your Spirit so that we may be bold witnesses of Your love and truth. Let us not grow weary in proclaiming the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). May we be instruments of Your peace, bringing hope to the hopeless and pointing others to the only One who can truly set them free—Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
In His mighty and matchless name, we pray. Amen.
