LET'S FEAR GOD Than PEOPLE

Psalm 114: 7-8 " Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters."

Brethren, I pray that God fill all the prayer warriors and those who seek him with all their heart with the Holy Spirit. I pray that the Holy Spirit enlighten us to fear God and respect people.

There is a tendency for millions of people, the so called " church goers" to fear people than God. Many a time you will hear someone saying: "what will people say about this, instead of saying, will God be happy to see this?" We turn to focus more on people than God. Even when someone has a problem, for example, does not have job, in such cases you will see people spending lots of money going to false profets to find out why are they not getting job, even most of Christians, who have been praying for so many years for job or breakthrough, if they think their prayers are not answered, they will turn to false profets, sangomas or even to yheir uncestors for healing or to find out what blocks them from getting job or breakthrough in finances or so. They forget that God is the omnipotent, powerful God who can change every situation. They try to fight for themselves. The fear of God disappears and the fear of the world comes in. Even if you have strong belief that the situation you are in was caused by someone or is part of witchcraft, put your eyes in God.

Mathew 10: 28 says: "And fear not them which kill the body: but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." God will not just kill but destroys. Why then should we fear the world and forget about the one who is able to destroy both the body and soul.

David in his praising psalms said: " Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.. ("Psalm 23: 4)

David focused on God in every situation, he did not turn his eyes away from God even at hard times. We should ask God to be with us, to help us focus on him and not on the world.

Daniel did not change his mind even when the king cast him into the den of lions and a stone was brought , and laid upon the mouth of the den, Daniel trusted in the living God without hesitation while he was cast into the lions den, and God almighty revealed himself to him. When the king came to the den early the next morning , hoping to see nothing called Daniel to be found there, hoping the lions had finished about Daniel, he spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servant continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? Daniel answered unto the king, O king, live for ever., my God has sent his Angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths that they have not hurt me." ( Daniel 6: 16 - 22)

We have to be like Daniel, trust and focus in God even where it sounds impossible for us to survive. God is always there for us. Let us forget about all other gods and fear God the creater of all.

May the mighty power vested in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, keep us strong and fear God and not the world, Amen.
