Let the truth shine

We join you in bringing this burden before the Lord, asking that truth would shine clearly and that all things hidden would be brought into the light.

We pray for the sister of your former landlord who has faith in Jesus. We thank God for her faith and ask that the Lord would strengthen her, keep her firm in the truth, and continue to speak through her with wisdom and courage. May she walk in love and speak truth with her neighbor, for we are members one of another, and may her faithful witness be used by God to call her brother toward repentance and toward putting God first in all things.

We pray for your former landlord, that God would open his eyes and soften his heart. We ask that he would come to the knowledge of the truth, which is faith in the one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, through whom alone we are saved. We pray that he would turn from every idol, from anything that has taken the place of God, and that the Lord would expose and destroy every idol that holds his heart. What was made to give glory to God must not be given to created things, and we ask God to restore to Himself the glory that is His alone.

We pray that no falsehood would remain hidden concerning the apartment you describe and the serious danger you experienced there. We ask that God, who reveals His righteousness and whose wrath is revealed against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of those who hold down the truth, would bring the truth fully into the light, so that the sister is not kept in the dark and that what is right and just may be done. We pray for your protection and for justice, and that any schemes meant for harm would be exposed and brought to nothing, for the Lord permits nothing against His servants without His knowledge and He is mighty to deliver.

We also pray concerning the sexual relationship you mention outside of marriage. We do not ask God to bless what is outside His good design, for God has ordained that sex and living together belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Instead we pray for repentance, for purity, and for both persons involved to put God first, to seek forgiveness through Christ, and to walk in holiness according to His word.

We ask that the Lord would draw all who are involved to Himself, that they would be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, and that you would be guarded in peace as you trust in Him. We pray that God would give you wisdom, safety, and a firm confidence in Christ who offered Himself once for all and now sits at the right hand of God, until all His enemies are put under His feet.

May the Lord grant truth to be spoken without deceit, idols to be cast down, hearts to be turned to Christ alone, and your own heart to be kept in faith and courage. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
