Let the truth shine

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me and the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me

We join with you in prayer that the truth will indeed shine and that nothing hidden will remain in darkness, for we know our God sees all things and will bring justice in His perfect time.

We thank God for your former landlord's sister and for her faith in Jesus, and we pray that the Lord will strengthen her and give her boldness to speak truth with love and grace. We ask that God continues to speak through her and use her as a vessel of light and conviction in her brother's life. We pray that she will not be kept in the dark, but that the full truth about the dangerous and life threatening condition of the apartment that was rented to you will be made known to her. For nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light, Luke 8:17. We pray also that the deeds done in darkness will be exposed, for it says Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them, Ephesians 5:11.

We also lift up the serious moral failure you have mentioned. The sexual relationship outside of marriage between your former landlord and this woman is sin before God. Scripture is clear that we are to flee sexual immorality and that marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, Hebrews 13:4. We pray that both would be convicted of this sin, that they would confess and forsake it, for he who conceals his sins doesn't prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy, Proverbs 28:13. We pray that your former landlord would turn from any wicked way and seek righteousness, and that any influence this woman has over him that leads him away from truth and godliness would be broken.

We are deeply burdened to hear of the evil and the attempt on your life, and we pray for your protection and for justice to be done. We ask our Father to surround you with His refuge and strength, for he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, Psalm 91:1. We pray that if indeed there was a plot to harm you, God would thwart every evil plan and bring the truth into the light where it can be dealt with justly. We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord as your protector while also honoring the authorities God has established to restrain evil, for the governing authorities are God's servant for good and do not bear the sword in vain, Romans 13:4. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to ensure that any threats to your life and any unsafe housing conditions are reported to the proper authorities so that the truth can be established and others protected.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him we have access to Your throne of grace. We ask that You shine Your light into this dark situation. Lord, empower this sister in Christ to speak the truth boldly and lovingly, and open her eyes to all that has been hidden from her. Soften her brother's heart, bring him to repentance for any dishonesty, negligence, and sexual immorality, and lead him into a right relationship with You. Expose every evil deed and every lie, and let Your justice and mercy prevail. Protect our dear one who was placed in harm's way, heal any trauma and fear, and let vengeance be left in Your hands, for You have said Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord, Romans 12:19, while also letting earthly justice be carried out according to Your will. We ask that You turn what was meant for evil into a testimony of Your deliverance and truth. We trust You to be our defender and our light. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and in the Word, to walk in forgiveness while still seeking truth, and to trust that God will vindicate and restore, for commit your way to Yahweh, trust also in him, and he will do this, he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun, Psalm 37:5-6.

We hear how heavy this season has been for you, and how much you want truth to come into the light. It makes sense you would be praying for your former landlord's sister, especially since you see her faith and her influence in that family. We join you in that prayer.

We are asking that God will keep speaking to her and give her wisdom and courage for any conversations she has with her brother, and that nothing that needs to be known stays hidden. We also hear the fear underneath what you described about the apartment and feeling unsafe. We pray for your protection and peace as you move forward, and that what is true will be made clear in a calm and orderly way.

It can help to have steady support around you right now. If you are still dealing with housing concerns or you continue to feel threatened, we encourage you to stay in safe housing and talk with a trusted pastor and, where appropriate, local housing or law enforcement resources who can look at the facts with you. You do not have to carry this alone or sort it all out by yourself.

Father, we bring this sister before You and ask You to strengthen her walk with You and give her discernment. We bring our friend before You too and ask for safety, for clear next steps, and for Your peace to guard their heart. Lead them to wise counsel and help truth to be known in Your way and timing. We have heard your heavy burden and we join you in carrying it to the throne of grace, where deliverance is found not by our own hand but by free grace alone.

We give thanks for the sister of whom you speak, that she has faith in Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation. We pray that the Lord will keep her faithful and make her a clear voice for truth and righteousness in her family. As you have asked, we ask the Father to speak through her and to use her influence, not to excuse sin, but to call it to repentance, that her brother may be brought to see his need of Christ and to turn from every wrong way.

We pray that the truth concerning that life threatening apartment and all that has been hidden in darkness will be brought into the light. The Lord is a God of truth and He will avenge hypocrisy and uncover what is done in secret. We ask that what has been concealed will be made known to those who ought to know it, including this sister, and to those who bear responsibility for justice, that no further harm may come to you or to others.

We must speak plainly as the Scripture speaks. A sexual relationship outside the covenant of marriage, which is the lifelong union of one man and one woman, is sin before God. We cannot ask God to bless what He calls immorality, but we do pray with earnestness for the former landlord and for the woman you mention, that both may be convicted of sin, repent, and flee to Christ for mercy. There is a ransom found, and God Himself has said, I have found a ransom, so that deliverance from the pit and from the guilt and power of sin is certain for all who turn to Jesus. We pray that they may know that deliverance and be changed by it.

We also lift you up for protection and deliverance from every murderous intent. You have felt the malice of enemies, but we remember that though the enemy may strike in malice, our gracious God reigns over all and can turn even persecution to our good and to the furtherance of His purposes. He brought His people forth when the lamb was slain, and He still brings forth His own from every pit. We pray that He will be your shield, that He will frustrate every plan formed against your life, and that He will grant to magistrates and to all who are appointed to execute justice the wisdom and courage to act rightly.

We pray for you, that in this trial you may be driven nearer to your God, for often the enmity of the world drives the Christian to prayer as nothing else will. May you know the truth that He has delivered us, and may you prove it experimentally in your own soul, that your thirst may be quenched and your soul revived as you drink of that life giving stream which is Christ Himself. Remember that the little you know of saving truth is inestimably precious, for to know Jesus Christ is eternal life.

We ask all this not as those who can claim deliverance for ourselves, but as those who know we can do nothing and that if we ever rise from despondency it must be of free grace only. May the Lord grant you peace within, deliverance from fear of man, and submission to His perfect will, trusting Him in the storm as well as in the calm. We commend you to Him who hears prayer and who alone can save and keep.
