Let the truth shine

Please pray for the former landlord's sister, who has faith in Jesus. Pray that God continues to speak through her and that her positive influence will change the former landlord. Pray that she is not kept in the dark about the life-threatening apartment that her brother rented to me and the evil, immoral woman who had a sexual relationship with the former landlord and most likely hired people to try to kill me

We join with you in asking that the truth would shine and that nothing hidden would remain in darkness. We thank God for your former landlord's sister and for her faith in Jesus, and we pray that the Lord will continue to use her as a vessel of light and truth within her family.

The Word reminds us that you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32 and that for nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17. We also take to heart the call to have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them Ephesians 5:11. It is right to pray that this sister not be kept in the dark, but that God would give her discernment, wisdom and holy boldness to see clearly and to speak the truth in love, and that her positive godly influence would be used by the Holy Spirit to convict and change her brother.

We must also address what you have shared about the sexual relationship between your former landlord and this woman. Outside of marriage between one man and one woman, such a relationship is not pleasing to God. Scripture says let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4 and to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18. We pray for both of them to be convicted of sin, to repent, and to turn from immorality to pursue holiness and righteousness before the Lord. We pray that any influence that woman has had that is manipulative or evil would be exposed and broken.

We are deeply concerned to hear about a life threatening apartment and about attempts on your life. The Lord is your refuge and your fortress Psalm 91:2 and He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1. We pray for your protection, for angelic protection around you, and for perfect peace as you trust in Him. We also pray for justice to be done in a lawful and godly way. God says vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19, and He has also established governing authorities to uphold justice. We encourage you to ensure that any life threatening conditions and any threats or attempts to harm you have been reported to the proper authorities so that the truth can be fully investigated and others can be protected, while we continue to trust God as our ultimate defender and judge.

Father, in the name of Jesus we come before You and we thank You for this sister who knows You. We ask that You continue to speak through her, fill her with Your Spirit, give her clarity, courage and words seasoned with grace and truth. Do not allow her to be deceived or kept in the dark, but reveal to her the reality of the dangerous apartment her brother rented and the sinful and potentially criminal actions surrounding it. Use her influence to bring conviction, repentance and change to her brother, and we pray that he would turn from any wrongdoing, take responsibility, and seek to make things right. We pray for the woman involved, that You would bring her to repentance and that any schemes meant for harm would be exposed and thwarted. Lord, place a hedge of protection around the one who has requested prayer, guard his life, his health and his dwelling, and let Your perfect will and justice be done. Lead all involved to the truth that sets free, and let Your light shine brightly in this situation. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, our refuge and our redeemer, amen.

We hear how heavy this has been for you, living with worry about that apartment and carrying these serious concerns about what happened there. It makes sense you would long for the truth to come into the light and for someone trusted to help bring clarity.

Sometimes God uses a family member who is respected by everyone to help the truth be heard in a calmer, steadier way than it could be otherwise. We join you in asking that she would have wisdom and courage, and that any conversations she has with her brother would be honest and constructive.

If you still have concerns about your safety or about housing conditions that felt dangerous, consider sharing your documented concerns with a trusted pastor and, where appropriate, with a local housing or legal aid resource who can advise on next steps. Father, we bring this situation to You and ask for Your protection and peace. We ask You to give this sister wisdom and opportunity to speak truth with love, and to guide all involved toward what is right and true. Your cry has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace, where God hears the prayer of the afflicted and is a refuge in time of trouble.

We give thanks that the sister of your former landlord knows the Lord Jesus Christ, for to know Him is eternal life. We pray that the Lord will strengthen her faith, keep her in the truth of His Word, and continue to speak through her with boldness and love. May her life and testimony be as salt and light in her family, and may her influence be used of God to call her brother to account and to seek after righteousness.

We pray that the truth will shine and that darkness will not prevail. If there has been concealment concerning the condition of that apartment and the danger in which you were placed, we ask the Lord to bring what is hidden into the light, that what is true may be known and dealt with justly. We pray also concerning the sin you have named, that sexual relationship outside the covenant of marriage, which God has ordained as a lifelong union of one man and one woman. We cannot ask God to bless what His Word calls sin, but we do pray that all who are entangled in it may be brought under conviction, may turn from it in repentance, and may seek forgiveness and cleansing through the blood of Jesus Christ alone, for He has found a ransom and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

We pray for your protection and deliverance. You have felt the malice of others and have feared for your life, and we ask the Lord who delivers from the pit to be your shield. Though enemies may be moved by malice, we know our gracious God can use even cruel things to chasten and to keep His people, and that no purpose of His can be thwarted. We ask Him to keep you safe from harm, to frustrate every evil design against you, to grant wisdom to those in authority to act justly, and to give you peace in trusting Him in the storm. As it is written, they that know thy name will put their trust in thee.

We pray for your former landlord, that God would work in his heart by His Spirit, that he would hear the truth spoken by his sister and not turn away, that he would confess what is wrong and be changed by the power of Christ, who alone can deliver from both the guilt and the power of sin. May deliverance be effectual in his life, not by his own strength, but by free grace.

May the Lord grant you to see His hand bringing you forth, and to sing with gratitude for deliverance from the grave. We commend you to Him who is able to keep you, to establish you in truth, and to make His truth known in this whole matter, for His glory and for your good.
