Beloved of All
We have heard your request and we are joining you in prayer that truth would come fully into the light.
We thank God for your former landlord's sister and for her faith in Jesus Christ. We are praying that the Lord will continue to give her wisdom and boldness to speak what is true and right, and that her influence would be used by God to bring conviction and change. Scripture teaches that the fear of the Lord is to hate evil and that it is the beginning of wisdom. When a person truly fears God, he turns from evil and learns to love what God loves and hate what God hates. Pray with us that any darkness or secrecy around what happened in that apartment would be removed, that what has been hidden would be made known, and that the one who has done wrong would be led to repentance.
We also want to pray clearly about the immoral relationship you mentioned. God has established marriage as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and sexual intimacy belongs only within that covenant. Any sexual relationship outside of it is sin before God. We cannot ask God to bless what He calls sin. Instead we pray that both individuals involved would see this for what it is, turn from it, and seek forgiveness and cleansing through Jesus Christ alone, for salvation is found in Him alone.
We hear how heavy and frightening this situation has been for you, especially with a dwelling that put your life at risk and with the fear that others sought to harm you. Fear is a common tool the enemy uses against God's children, and fear and faith cannot occupy the heart together. The cure for fear is always to remember the Lord. As David said, though I walk through the valley of death, I will fear no evil for you are with me. When our eyes are fixed on threats, fear grows, but when our eyes are fixed on the Lord, faith is strengthened to know that He who is with us is greater than any enemy against us. Like Nehemiah, who recognized attempts to make him afraid and refused to be moved by fear into wrong action, we pray you will be kept from reactions driven by fear and instead be steadied by remembering the presence and power of Christ with you.
God is a God of justice and truth. When truth falls in the street and justice seems far off, He still sees and He still reigns. His word promises that when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him, and that He will in time bring righteous judgment. Wisdom and understanding from God also deliver us from the evil man and from the immoral woman who flatters with her words. We are praying that God will surround you with His protection, that He will keep your foot from being taken, and that He will give you His confidence and peace. We also encourage you to take wise and practical steps for your safety and to let appropriate authorities know if your life has been threatened, while trusting the Lord to be your ultimate defender.
