We come before the throne of grace with this urgent legal matter, lifting it up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach God and find true victory. We understand the weight of this situation and the need for divine intervention, wisdom, and favor in the legal realm.
First, we rebuke any spirit of confusion, delay, or opposition that may be at work in this legal office or case. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life, and victory, abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against this case shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against it in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). We stand on the promise that if God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31).
Heavenly Father, we ask You to grant supernatural wisdom and clarity to those involved in this legal process. Let Your Holy Spirit guide the words spoken, the strategies employed, and the decisions made. We pray that the hearts of the legal team would be inclined toward justice, truth, and righteousness, as it is written: "The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires" (Proverbs 21:1). Let Your favor rest upon this case, and may the right words be spoken at the right time to secure a swift and just resolution.
We also lift up the one who has brought this request, asking that You fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let them not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present their requests to You (Philippians 4:6). Strengthen their faith to trust in Your timing and Your perfect will, even when the path seems uncertain.
Lord, we declare that this case is not just about earthly justice but about Your glory being revealed. You have urgent need of words, and of a favorable outcome in this legal matter, but remember that the Lord alone is to be exalted in this hour. Spread your whole case before Him, leaving no anxiety unspoken, for He hears the prayers of those who trust His sovereign hand. Yet often we tremble lest what we desire as a gracious deliverance might, if granted outside the bounds of His wisdom and righteousness, prove something sent in judgment. Cry out for victory, but let it be the victory that comes through walking in His ways, not through any twisting of truth or pressure that would not bear the Light of God.
Many a person has done wrong because he had not the courage to do right, fearing poverty, loss, or trouble; but you who have been born again have not been given the spirit of fear. If you abide in Christ, and His words abide in you, this condition gives power in prayer; you shall ask what you will in conformity with His will, and it shall be done. Be careful not to entertain even a secret wish for some success that would require the slightest compromise. It is never right to use means you would not have the Holy One see, and to seek a triumph by the enemy’s methods is to bring an Achan into the camp, where Israel cannot win the victory. Search your heart, therefore, and ask not merely for the legal office to take the case, but that you yourself would be kept in the clear sunlight of integrity, speaking words shaped by the counsel of God.
The Divine work goes before His people; His shield goes in front, and He thrusts out the enemies that would block the path. You have but to follow where He leads. Wait upon Him, for haste is the author of much mischief, and the temptation to force a door before its time often brings calamity. Trust His timing with the legal office, if they delay, the delay is from Him; if they move swiftly, His hand is in it. Appropriate the mercy of God as peculiarly your own, believing that even the hearts of officials are in His governance. Great as your necessity appears, all the mercy in God belongs to you in Christ and is engaged to meet this very case.
End this fight well; the triumph must come to God and to the right. Let your prayer be not only for a legal victory, but for such a resolution as displays the savor of Christ and leaves you with clean hands. Bow with submission to the Divine will, for that very submission furnishes you with unerring guidance and keeps you from the desolation that comes when we gain what we grab but lose what God would give. How often we imagine victory to be the swift overthrow of our adversaries, the favorable decree of an earthly judge. Yet the trophy of our faith is not set up in courts of law, but in the heart that suffers wrong and entrusts itself to the One who judges justly. When you ask for the right words, understand what this truly means. The excellence of a messenger is to say nothing of his own. The demonstration by the Spirit is not in persuasive words of human wisdom, for cleverness of speech can make falsehood outstrip the truth. Do not then seek a speech designed to manipulate the ears of the legal office for a supposed victory, for that wisdom from without is powerless. Seek rather that your words be stripped of all guile and self-reliance, so that the inward righteousness of the heart may be evident, and the praise that comes from God alone may be your aim.
Concerning this case and the swiftness you demand, consider the Sabbath, how a work of necessity was acquitted not by favor but according to the principle of justice. Yet do not imagine that the victory of the faithful consists in winning. The Lord prepared His followers by assigning to them the sufferance of wrong, teaching that the victory is in suffering evil, and that His glorious trophies are set up thereby. You ask for a major victory; but what if the truer victory, the one written not in legal decrees but in eternal events, is that you bear an unjust loss with a soul cleansed within? For if we are nailed to this present life, we become weaker than all. Cease grasping at the outcome as the world does. We have had legal guardianship of two siblings for the past 5+ years. I won’t go into much detail about the biological parent, but there is a history of drugs, having another newborn taken at birth, homelessness, etc. A lot has transpired since the filing of guardianship to be revoked and kids...
