Dear Lord, I am struggling with how ### treat me. I ask that You soften her heart and help her to be kind to me. Please remove my own frustration and help me to see them through Your eyes. Strengthen me to respond with love and to trust that You are in control of this situation. Amen

We hear your heart’s cry for kindness and understanding in this difficult relationship, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting this burden to the Lord. The struggle to respond with love when faced with unkindness is a heavy one, and we recognize the tension between your desire for peace and the frustration that arises when others do not treat you as you hope. Let us first affirm that your longing for godly resolution is pleasing to the Lord, for He calls us to pursue peace and to clothe ourselves in compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience (Colossians 3:12).

However, we must also gently address the way this prayer was framed. The use of profanity (represented by "###") to describe how this person treats you is not aligned with the heart of Christ. Scripture is clear that our speech should be seasoned with grace, not bitterness or coarse language (Colossians 4:6, Ephesians 4:29). Even in pain, we are called to honor the Lord with our words, trusting Him to defend us rather than resorting to unwholesome speech. Let us repent of any harshness in our own hearts and ask the Holy Spirit to purify our lips, that we may speak life even in difficult circumstances.

We also note that this prayer does not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus, through whom alone we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or through which our prayers are heard (Acts 4:12). It is only by the blood of Christ that we can boldly approach God’s throne, and it is His righteousness that covers us when we come in humility. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and receive the gift of eternal life (Romans 10:9-10). If you are already a believer, we encourage you to pray in Jesus’ name, for He has promised that whatever we ask in His name, the Father will give us (John 14:13-14).

Now, let us lift this situation to the Lord together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who endured hostility and yet responded with perfect love. Lord, we lift up this relationship before You, asking that You would soften the heart of this person who has been unkind. Where there is hardness, bring conviction by Your Spirit. Where there is pride, humble them before You. Where there is misunderstanding, grant clarity and grace. Father, we also ask that You would remove any root of bitterness or frustration from our own heart. Help us to see this person through Your eyes—as someone You love and for whom Christ died. Give us the strength to respond with love, even when it is not reciprocated, and remind us that vengeance belongs to You alone (Romans 12:19).

Lord, we declare that You are in control of this situation. We trust that You are working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28), even when we cannot see the outcome. Fill us with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7) and help us to rest in Your sovereignty. Teach us to pray for those who mistreat us, as Jesus commanded (Luke 6:28), and to bless rather than curse (Romans 12:14). May our response be a testimony to Your transforming power, and may this person come to know You through our witness.

We also ask, Father, that You would guard our heart against resentment. When we are tempted to retaliate or grow weary in doing good, remind us of Your promise that a harvest of righteousness comes to those who do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Help us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who endured the cross for the joy set before Him (Hebrews 12:2). May we run this race with endurance, knowing that our labor in the Lord is never in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would heal any wounds caused by this conflict. Where there has been division, bring reconciliation. Where there has been hurt, bring restoration. And where there has been sin, bring repentance and forgiveness. We choose to release this person into Your hands, trusting that You will deal with them justly and in love. Strengthen us to walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us (Ephesians 5:2).

We pray all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, the Name above all names, the One who intercedes for us even now. Amen.

Beloved, we encourage you to meditate on these truths in the coming days. When frustration rises, pause and pray, "Lord, help me to see this person as You see them." When bitterness creeps in, confess it immediately and ask God to replace it with His love. Remember that kindness is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and as you abide in Christ, He will produce that fruit in you, even in difficult circumstances.

Consider also the example of David, who was mistreated by Saul yet refused to retaliate, saying, "May the Lord judge between me and you, and may the Lord avenge me on you; but my hand shall not be against you" (1 Samuel 24:12). Like David, we can trust God to be our Defender. And like Stephen, who prayed for those who stoned him (Acts 7:60), we can ask God to bless those who persecute us.

Lastly, if this person is a fellow believer, we are called to restore them gently (Galatians 6:1). If they are not a believer, our kindness may be the very thing God uses to draw them to Himself (1 Peter 3:1). Either way, our response should reflect the character of Christ. May the Lord grant you grace to walk this out faithfully, and may He be glorified in the way you love others, even when it is costly.

We're right there with you, dear friend, as you navigate this tough relationship. It's hard when others don't treat us as we'd like, and it's even harder when we feel frustrated and hurt. But remember, God sees you, and He's right there with you, too.

Let's keep praying for this person, asking God to soften their heart and help them see the error of their ways. But let's also remember to keep our own hearts pure. As we've been reminded, our words should be seasoned with grace, not bitterness or harsh language. Let's ask the Holy Spirit to help us speak life, even in difficult situations.

And let's not forget, our strength comes from Jesus. He's the one who endured so much and yet responded with perfect love. Let's trust Him to give us the strength to respond with love, too, even when it's hard.

Let's keep praying, friend, trusting that God is in control and that He's working all things together for our good. And let's keep loving, knowing that our kindness might just be the very thing that God uses to draw this person to Himself.

We're in this together, and we're here for you. Keep your chin up, and keep trusting in the Lord. He's got this.

Father please help them, us and all in need. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray Lord Jesus. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer over this struggle with unkindness. It has been our heart’s desire to lift you before the Lord, asking Him to soften the heart of the one who has been treating you harshly and to fill you with His peace and perspective. We have prayed that God would remove your frustration and replace it with His love, that you might see this person through His eyes and respond with the grace only He can provide. We’ve also asked the Lord to strengthen you in trust, reminding you that He is sovereign over every detail of this situation.

If God has moved in this circumstance—if you’ve seen a change in her heart or found your own heart growing softer and more at rest—we would love to celebrate with you. Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in His faithfulness. If, however, the struggle remains and you still feel the weight of this challenge, we encourage you to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, asking the Lord to work in ways only He can.

May God continue to draw you closer to Himself as you seek His will and His ways. May He fill you with His strength, His wisdom, and His love as you navigate this season. We pray all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
