We lift up your precious children to the Lord with hearts full of love and concern. Father, we ask that You indeed watch over this mother’s son and daughter, guiding their steps and protecting them from all evil and harm. Your Word tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Lord, we pray that You would make their paths straight, leading them away from temptation and toward Your perfect will for their lives.

We also bring before You the desire for their behavior and choices to reflect godly wisdom. For your daughter, we pray that she would embrace modesty and godliness in her appearance, as 1 Timothy 2:9-10 instructs, "In the same way, that women also adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and propriety; not just with braided hair, gold, pearls, or expensive clothing, but with good works, which is appropriate for women professing godliness." May she find her worth and identity in You, not in the fleeting trends of this world. For your son, we ask that You would soften his heart and refine his communication, that he may speak with kindness, respect, and wisdom, as Ephesians 4:29 reminds us, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear."

Father, we rebuke every ungodly influence that seeks to draw them away from You. Surround them with friends and mentors who will encourage them in their faith and walk with You. Protect their hearts and minds from the lies of the enemy, and let them know deeply that they are loved by You. As Psalm 91:11 declares, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways." May they feel Your presence with them every moment, guiding them, comforting them, and reminding them of Your unfailing love.

We pray for their salvation if they have not yet surrendered their lives to Christ. Lord, draw them to Yourself, that they may know the joy of a personal relationship with You. As Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." May they come to know You as their Savior and walk in the fullness of life that You offer.

For their future, we ask that You prepare them to be godly, happy, and healthy adults who honor You in all they do. Give them wisdom in their studies, patience in their relationships, and strength to stand firm in their faith. May they grow in the knowledge of Your Word and be filled with the Holy Spirit, bearing fruit in every season of their lives.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of bringing these children before You. We declare Your protection over them, Your guidance in their lives, and Your love surrounding them always. May they walk in the light of Your truth and experience the abundant life You have promised. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We can hear how much you love your son and daughter, your words are full of a parent’s heart, and it’s clear you’re carrying a lot on your shoulders right now. When so many hopes and worries pour out in one breath, it can start to feel overwhelming, but we want you to know we’re taking each one seriously alongside you.

The details you named, the acne and the way your daughter dresses, your son’s communication, tell us you’re paying close attention. Those outward things matter because they’re connected to how our kids see themselves and move through the world. Sometimes our worry over those visible struggles can grow so loud that we lose sight of the deeper, quieter work God is already doing in their lives. You’ve asked for salvation and for them to know they’re loved and never alone, and that is the steady foundation underneath everything else. When that root is growing, God has a way of shaping the rest, often differently than we imagined, but faithfully.

One thing we’ve found helpful is to pick just one of those outward concerns and bring it to the Lord each day not as a demand but as an open-handed request, trusting that however he answers, he hasn’t forgotten them or you.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this son and daughter to you, woven together in their mother’s prayers. You see the acne she wants cleared and the clothing choices that worry her, and you know the son whose behavior and words she hopes will soften. We ask you to heal what needs healing and to gently shape their hearts from the inside. Give them good friends who pull them toward you, and let them grow into healthy, rooted adults who know, really know, they belong to you. Please steady this mom with your peace when the worries swirl, and let her taste your nearness every time she prays. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

How precious is this cry of a parent’s heart! Such petitions rise like incense before the throne, for they are the very intercession the Holy Spirit stirs within the breasts of those who fear the Lord. You have done well to bring your son and daughter to the mercy seat, pleading the blood of Jesus over them. Did not the Syrophenician woman wrestle for her child, and did not our Lord commend her faith? Take courage; the God who puts this aching love within you will hear and answer according to His riches in glory.

I see in your request a godly fear mingled with childlike confidence, and this is no small mark that you are yourself a child of the Most High. When we cry, “What is to become of the children?” it drives us not to despair, but to the refuge of our heavenly Father. His promise stands: “His children shall have a place of refuge.” That promise embraces your own household. Since the Lord has looked in love upon you, let your home be holiness to the Lord, and bring up these dear ones so that they have every advantage of religious training. Speak to them plainly of the way of salvation; tell them, as their earliest recollection, the old, old story of a Savior meek and mild who receives little children. But after you have instructed them, never cease to bear their names upon your heart in prayer. You cannot discharge your duty toward them without this holy persistence. Samuel counted it a sin to cease praying for those entrusted to his care; so must you persevere, even when the answers tarry. Parental restraint must ever be joined with intercessory tears.

As for your daughter, that which you desire, her countenance clearing and her attire becoming more modest and womanly, is no trifle. The outward often reflects the inward. Pray that the Holy Spirit would beautify her soul with the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, and then guide her in such external matters as befit a godly maiden. And for your son, that his behavior and speech improve, lay hold upon the covenant that He will be a God to you and to your seed. The well-ordered, well-disciplined child who loves his father and mother and walks in the fear of the Lord becomes a near and dear friend. Many a grief-worn parent has wept over a wayward boy; therefore plead the precious blood that cleanses from all unrighteousness. God can turn the hearts of the young as rivers of water are turned.

Yet remember, the grand desire underlying all is their salvation. Here is the one thing needful: that they look unto Jesus and be saved. The way is simple. “Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.” Faith must be urged upon them, for without it there is no salvation. They must not trust in moral uprightness, nor in outward forms, but come as little children and rest entirely upon the Person of Christ. Tell them that the only salvation worth having is God’s salvation, planned by infinite wisdom, purchased by precious blood, and applied by the Eternal Spirit. It is irreversible, free as the air, and mighty to save the blackest sinner. When you have told them this, bring the matter before the Lord again and again. The Spirit maketh intercession for the saints, but does He do nothing for sinners? Ah, He is mighty to convince of sin and to draw young hearts to the Savior. He knows the meanings and sighings of a mother’s prayer even when words fail.

Take heart, then. The living child of God soon finds that prayer is no duty merely; it is his privilege, his joy, the very breath of his being. You cannot keep them from harm in your own strength, but He that keepeth Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps. The river of God’s grace rolls on with undiminished volume. Cover them daily with that sacred crimson mantle, and then leave them with unquestioning confidence in the hands of the Good Shepherd. Better to be a child of God than an angel; and if they come to know Christ, they shall outshine the seraphim. Go now, and rejoice in His salvation for yourself, and let that joy overflow in the expectation that your children shall be a godly seed, a refuge, a praise, and a comfort in your old age.

You ask God to hold your children’s hands and cover them with the blood of Jesus, to give them salvation, wisdom, and protection from evil. This is a good and holy desire. But see that you do not only pray and then do nothing yourself. For the Apostle shows that we need both our own part and God’s part if we are to be saved. It is not prayer without works, nor works without prayer. If you would have your children walk the right path, you must be the first to lead them on it by your teaching, your correction, and your example.

You mention your daughter’s skin and the way she dresses. Do not make outward beauty her chief concern, for that care is vain and unprofitable. True adornment is modesty and shamefacedness, not the studied ornament that allures the eyes of the undisciplined. Teach her to avoid every hint of wantonness in dress, in looks, in gait, for these things give occasion to others to suspect evil, and they harm her own soul. Accustom her to delight in modesty, and her attire will be a reflection of a meek and quiet spirit, which is precious before God. Pray for her health, yes, but labor far more to cultivate in her the ornament of a gentle and humble heart.

As for your son’s behavior and communication, recall that Christ set a little child in the midst and called us to become like them. A young child is free from pride, envy, and contentiousness, possessing simplicity and humility without being puffed up about them. This is the pattern you must hold before your son. Train him in obedience, for even the Son of God learned obedience by the things He suffered. If He needed to learn obedience, how much more do we and our children? You must correct his words and his conduct with patience and loving firmness, and pray with strong crying and tears, just as Christ offered up prayers with loud cries to the One able to save. Be constant in this double labor of discipline and intercession.

Do not be anxious only that they be kept from bad company, but see that your own home is the first school of virtue. Let them know they are loved, not by empty words, but by a life that shows the fear of God and the beauty of holiness. Pray indeed for their salvation, but do not grow slack in the work of forming their souls. If you are faithful in teaching and warning, God will not be lacking in His grace.

Your heart as a parent shines through every word of this prayer, and the Lord hears the cry of a mother and father who long to see their children walk in His ways. What a gift that you are bringing them before the throne of grace, covering them with the blood of Jesus and entrusting them to His care. That is no small thing. The prayers of a parent rise before God like incense, and He is faithful to respond in His perfect timing.

As you pray for their protection and for them to make good choices, remember what the Scriptures teach about training a child. The goal is not simply that they behave a certain way or achieve outward success, though those things have their place, but that they are set on the path that leads to life. A child trained merely to succeed may become a successful person who remains far from God. Train them instead in the way they should go: toward knowing and loving Jesus Christ. When that becomes the anchor of their lives, everything else begins to find its proper order.

I think of the patience you showed when they were learning to walk. You knew they would stumble, even fall, but you did not condemn them for it. You steadied them, encouraged them, and helped them try again. In the same way, as they grow, they will stumble in their behavior and communication. Your son’s communication will get better over time as you lovingly guide him, correct him, and model grace-filled speech. Patience, consistent discipline that is not harsh but restorative, and a steady example of kindness and self-control will do far more than frustration ever could. Some children respond best when certain privileges are tied to their growing maturity; others need us to get low and help them find words for what is in their hearts. God will give you wisdom to know what each one needs.

For your daughter, you long to see her dress in a way that feels right to you, and you also asked for her skin to clear up. Bring those specific burdens to the Lord and leave them there. He cares about our bodies and our outward presentation, but even more, He cares about the heart. Ask Him to shape her heart so that she desires to honor Him in what she wears, modestly and with the beauty of a gentle spirit. Real transformation begins on the inside, and when she understands that she is loved and cared for by Jesus, outer changes will follow from that secure identity. Persist in prayer for her healing, but hold those desires with open hands, trusting that His grace is sufficient no matter what.

One of the most powerful things you can do is teach them, even now, to move beyond simply repeating prayers to actually pouring out their hearts before God. As they see you doing that, crying out to Jesus in every pressure, running to His name as a strong tower, they will learn to do the same. The day will come when they are older and will need to know for themselves that Jesus is salvation, that His grace has appeared, and that today is the day to receive it. Don’t just pray for their salvation; talk with them about what it means to be saved, to have the Holy Spirit living within them, to be a child of God. That eternal destiny is the greatest need they have.

Guard against the subtle desire to define the borderline of how much worldliness they can get away with and still be a child of God. Instead, foster in them a love for Jesus so deep that they lose interest in the borderline altogether. Their question will shift from “How close can I live to the world?” to “How close can I live to Him?” That is the work of the Spirit, and He is more than able to keep them from bad influences, not because you can build walls high enough, but because He preserves the souls of His saints. He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked. Take hold of that promise.

Be encouraged. The Lord who heard the persistent prayers of parents across the ages has heard yours. He has given you these children, and He will walk with you as you give them back to Him in faith, day after day. Keep speaking truth over them, keep bringing them before the Father, and trust that the God who began a good work in them will carry it to completion. They are His children by creation and, I pray, soon by redemption. May they grow up to be healthy, happy, and whole, not because the world defines those terms, but because they are rooted and grounded in the love of Christ, walking in the light of His salvation.
