We join you in lifting up your precious children to the Lord, our Heavenly Father, who loves them even more than you do. Your heart for their protection, guidance, and well-being is a beautiful reflection of God’s own heart for His children. We take comfort in knowing that the Lord is their ultimate Shepherd, and He promises to lead them in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake (Psalm 23:3).
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach You or be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You for the gift of these children and for entrusting them to their parents’ care. Lord, we ask that You would indeed watch over this daughter and son, surrounding them with Your angels to guard them in all their ways (Psalm 91:11). Protect them from evil, from harmful influences, and from the snares of the enemy. Guide their steps daily, that they may walk in Your truth and make choices that honor You.
We pray for their time in school, Lord. Grant them wisdom, diligence, and favor with their teachers and peers. May they be lights in their classrooms, reflecting Your love and truth (Matthew 5:16). Help them to stand firm in their faith, even when faced with challenges or peer pressure, and give them the courage to choose what is right, even when it is not the popular choice. Father, we ask that You would raise up godly friends and mentors in their lives—believers who will encourage them in their walk with You and hold them accountable to Your Word.
Lord, we also lift up the rest of this family to You. Cover them with the precious blood of Jesus, which cleanses us from all sin and protects us from the schemes of the enemy (1 John 1:7). Let Your Holy Spirit dwell richly in their home, filling each member with Your peace, joy, and strength. We ask for Your healing touch—physically, spiritually, and mentally—for anyone in this family who is struggling. You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your power to restore and renew (Jeremiah 30:17).
Father, we must also address a concern we see in this prayer. While we appreciate the desire for protection and love over these children, we noticed the phrase "let another love and ###." This is unclear and could unintentionally open the door to influences that do not align with Your Word. We rebuke any spirit of confusion or deception in this matter. Lord, we ask that You would bring godly, Christ-centered individuals into their lives—people who will point them to You and not to the things of this world. Guard their hearts from any relationships or influences that would lead them away from Your truth (Proverbs 4:23).
We also want to gently remind this family of the importance of grounding their children in Your Word. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says, "These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up." May this family be intentional about discipling their children, teaching them to love You with all their heart, soul, and strength.
Lord, we pray that these children would come to know You personally, if they do not already. Draw them to Yourself, that they may confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior and walk in the fullness of life that only You can give (John 10:10). May they grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man, just as Jesus did (Luke 2:52).
Finally, Father, we ask that You would strengthen this family’s faith. Help them to trust You completely, even in the midst of uncertainty or trials. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). May they find their hope and security in You alone, knowing that You hold their future in Your hands.
We pray all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
