We join together with you in lifting up your beloved sister before the throne of grace, and we also lift you up as you carry this heavy emotional burden of seeing her suffer in intensive care. Our hearts are moved with compassion for her excruciating pain, for the kidney failure, the poor blood flow in both legs and the severe infection in her feet that has taken away her ability to walk or stand. We know the Lord sees her in that hospital room and He sees your tears and distress as well.

We are reminded of the comforting truth in Psalm 147:3 that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds, and in Psalm 103:2-3 to praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. We cling to the promise in Jeremiah 30:17, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. Even when medical reports are grave and pain is severe, we know that our God is the Great Physician and nothing is impossible for Him. We also remember Isaiah 41:10, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. That promise is for your sister in her weakness and for you in your anguish.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently want to share that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and assurance of salvation. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we are told there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by His name that we pray with confidence, and it is by believing in Him, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we have eternal life as Romans 10:9 teaches. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus for your own salvation and to call upon His name for your sister.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear sister who is in intensive care with kidney failure, with poor circulation and infection in her feet, unable to walk and in excruciating pain. Lord, You know her body intimately, for You formed her. We ask for Your healing touch upon her kidneys, that You would restore their function, that You would improve the blood flow in her legs and cleanse the infection from her feet. We pray You would ease her pain and give her rest, for You have said in Psalm 34:18 that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. We ask You to be near to her now.

We pray for wisdom and skill for the doctors and nurses caring for her, that You would guide their hands and decisions. We pray for Your peace to guard her heart and mind, and to guard the heart of her sibling who loves her so deeply and is emotionally affected by this trial. Lord, we cast this burden on You as You invite us in 1 Peter 5:7, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. Grant comfort, strength and hope to this family, and let them feel Your presence even in the intensive care unit. We pray that Your will be done in her life and that You would be glorified through her healing and testimony. We ask that she and her family would draw ever closer to Jesus through this suffering, knowing that James 5:15 tells us the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. We trust Your perfect love and perfect timing. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pour out your heart to the Lord, to stay near to Him in prayer and in His Word, and to lean on fellow believers for support during this difficult time. We also encourage you to keep the medical team informed and to advocate for her needs while trusting the Lord to work through them. We will continue to stand with you in prayer, asking God for mercy, healing, relief from pain, and peace that surpasses all understanding as in Philippians 4:6-7. Please keep us updated so we may continue to pray.

God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. We were moved by your love for your sister and we are holding you both in prayer right now. Learning she is in intensive care in so much pain, unable to walk or stand, with kidney failure and infection, is a lot to carry, and it makes sense this is weighing on you emotionally as well.

When someone we love is critically ill the whole family feels the shock and helplessness. Please know your care for her matters, even when you cannot take the pain away.

If it helps in these next days, consider choosing one small way to stay steadied. Keep a simple notebook by your phone to write down what the doctors share and any questions that come to mind between updates, so you do not have to hold everything in memory. And let one or two trusted people help you with meals, rides, or just sitting with you, so you can get rest and keep showing up.

We are grateful she is receiving hospital care and we encourage you to stay in close contact with her care team for guidance.

Father, we lift this sister to You in her intensive care stay. Bring comfort in her pain, wisdom to those caring for her, and strength and peace to the one who loves her so deeply. Draw near to them both and carry them through each hour. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your cry concerning your dear sister in intensive care and we have carried it to the throne of grace. To see one so near to you laid low with kidney failure, with poor blood flow in both legs and grievous infection in both feet, unable to walk or stand and in excruciating pain, is indeed a heavy burden, and we do not wonder that it weighs upon your own heart and spirit.

Scripture tells us to bear one another's burdens and so we would help you bear this burden before the Lord, while we know there is a burden only Christ Himself can bear, the burden of sin, which He bore upon the cross that we might have pardon and healing together. For healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction, and when the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings He brings both to His people.

We are praying that our compassionate Lord, whose leaves are for the healing of the nations and whose least touch is full of healing virtue, would look upon your sister in her suffering. We ask Him to have mercy upon her body, to ease her excruciating pain, to give wisdom to the physicians and nurses who attend her, to stay the infection, to restore blood flow, and if it be His gracious will, to lift the failure of her kidneys and raise her up again. We pray also that He would grant her that deeper healing which He alone can give, the forgiveness of sins through faith in Jesus Christ, for that is the heaviest burden and the sweetest cure.

For you who love her and watch and cannot relieve her, we pray that you would know the lightness of Christ's yoke and the ease of His burden. You need not bear this sorrow alone. Cast your burden upon Him, for He cares for you, and He will sustain you day by day. May He give you strength, peace in waiting, and comfort in His presence as you keep watch in prayer.

We will continue to bear this burden with you in prayer, asking the Lord to show His power to heal and His grace to save, and to bring you both through this trial with renewed trust in Him.

May the Lord be near to your sister and to you, and may His will which is wise and good be done, to His glory. Amen.
