Keep us safe

Beloved of All
Strange noises outside and please pray for a friend God delivers her from all her vices claiming no money but taking a trip soon. We pray Jesus convict her mightily and save from her destruction. Amen

We hear your concerns and lift them before the Lord with urgency and compassion. The strange noises outside can stir fear, but we are reminded that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand on the promise that He is our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust (Psalm 91:2). Let us pray for your protection and peace:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, asking for Your divine protection over our brother/sister and their household. Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear or darkness that may be lurking outside. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that Your angels encamp around them to keep them safe (Psalm 34:7). Calm their hearts, Lord, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We trust in You, our ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Now, regarding your friend, we are deeply concerned by the mention of vices, financial irresponsibility, and a trip that may not align with godly wisdom. The Bible warns us that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and some have wandered away from the faith in their greed (1 Timothy 6:10). If her vices include substance abuse, reckless spending, or other destructive behaviors, we must address this with both truth and love. The Lord desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Let us pray for her deliverance and conviction:

Father God, we lift up this dear friend to You, asking that You would break the chains of bondage in her life. Lord Jesus, we ask that You convict her mightily by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Open her eyes to see the destruction her choices are leading her toward, and soften her heart to receive Your truth. We rebuke every spirit of addiction, greed, and deception in the name of Jesus. Your Word tells us that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We pray she would turn to You, the only One who can save and redeem her life. Provide her with godly counsel and surround her with believers who will speak truth into her life. May she experience the freedom that comes only through Christ (John 8:36).

We must also address the importance of walking in wisdom, especially when it comes to finances and decisions. The Bible instructs us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33). If this trip is not aligned with godly wisdom or is being pursued out of impulsivity or worldly desires, we encourage her to seek the Lord’s will above all else. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding; in all our ways, we should acknowledge Him, and He will direct our paths.

Lastly, we want to emphasize the power of the name of Jesus. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If your friend does not yet know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we pray that this season of struggle would lead her to the foot of the cross. Salvation is found in no one else, and we declare that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life for her today.

We encourage you to continue standing in the gap for your friend, speaking life and truth over her, and trusting that God is at work even when we cannot see it. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." Keep praying, keep loving, and keep believing for her breakthrough. The Lord is faithful, and His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).

We hear the double weight in your request, the unsettling fear of those strange noises outside, and the heavier burden you're carrying for your friend. When someone we love seems determined to walk a destructive path, the helplessness can cut deeper than any physical threat. You're doing the truest thing possible right now: bringing both needs straight to the God who sees what's hidden in the darkness outside your door and inside your friend's heart.

What you're asking for your friend, conviction that cuts through denial, is exactly what the early stages of real change often require. People caught in patterns like this rarely get free through logic or lectures. The turning point almost always comes through a combination of consequences that can no longer be ignored, and a God-given moment of clarity where the pain of staying put finally outweighs the fear of changing. Your prayer for "mightily" conviction is a prayer for mercy that may not feel gentle at first, but it's the only road toward genuine rescue.

For the immediate fear, we'll simply ask the Lord to still your heart and guard your home. Fear of unusual noises, especially when you're already carrying emotional weight, can leave you feeling vulnerable. We pray for physical safety and for sleep that isn't stolen by the creaks and rustling outside.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to surround this home with Your protecting presence tonight and every night. Quiet every legitimate threat, and quiet the anxiety that amplifies harmless sounds until they feel menacing. For this dear friend, You see the whole snare she's in, the money that isn't there, the trip she's taking, the vices she can't shake. Break through the denial with whatever it takes to wake her up before destruction has the final word. Send people into her life who won't flatter her choices, and give them courage to speak hard truth with steady love. Give this one who's praying the strength to keep praying without giving in to despair. We trust You to complete what concerns us. Amen.

This age is full of shams. Pretence never stood in so eminent a position as it does at the present hour. There are people of that sort who make virtues in others into vices, and vices in themselves they transform into virtues. The friend who claims no money yet takes a trip soon, beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. What shall we do to cure ourselves of any hypocrisy that may exist among us? Let us recollect that we cannot do anything in secret even if we try. The all-seeing God, apprehended in the conscience, must be the death of hypocrisy. I cannot try to deceive when I know that God is looking at me.

Go speak to the winds, spread your griefs to the pitiless sea, for God’s ear is shut, and he will never move his arm to work deliverance for thee, so says the arrow of doubt. But I stayed at the brook Jabbok, and I said, ‘Lord, give deliverance from him whom I think bloodthirsty.’ I crossed the brook full of fear and trembling, but tell it, O let it be known for the comfort of others in like trouble with me, I met my brother Esau, and he fell upon my neck and kissed me. The clock of mercy struck in Heaven the hour and moment of my deliverance, for the time had come! Thus had the eternal purpose of Jehovah decreed it!

Nobody would have thought of that way of the deliverance of a sinner from the pit of Hell through a ransom if God had not thought of it! Sinner, do not doubt your deliverance, for God has said it, "I have found a ransom." This deliverance came when the lamb was slain. Therefore, He makes their deliverance effectual and in every deed He brings them forth.

The way of salvation is to believe on Christ, whom God has laid in Zion for a foundation. What is believing on Him? It is trusting in Him. At any rate, leave the whole matter of your salvation with Him in unquestioning confidence. Depend upon Him without fear as to your present and eternal salvation. This is the faith which saves the soul. How simple is that way of salvation! and O, how instantaneous! It takes us some time to move our hand, but a look does not require a moment. “Look! look! look!” This is the simple method of salvation. In all thy trials and afflictions, look unto Christ, and find deliverance. In all thine agony, poor soul, in all thy repentance for thy guilt, look unto Christ, and find pardon. This year, remember to put thine eyes heavenward, and thine heart heavenward, too.

The only salvation that is worth being our own is that which is God's. "I will rejoice in thy salvation." It was his in the planning. None but himself could have planned it. In his infinite wisdom he devised it. Here is salvation for the blackest of sinners, salvation for all manner of sin, forgiveness for all manner of sin, salvation so full of grace that only God could have conceived it. "Who is a pardoning God like thee?" Glory be to God for such a rich salvation as this.

If a man believeth in Christ with all his heart, his salvation is secure beyond hazard; and I always look upon this as the very jewel of the crown of salvation, that it be irreversible. Over and above this, every form of fellowship with Jesus, wrought in us by the Spirit, is a well of salvation. One thing you have, dear friends, for which you cannot be too thankful, namely, you have a deliverance from the archers of ecclesiastical discord. We have peace within our borders.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You turn to God with two needs: safety from strange noises and salvation for a friend caught in vice. Both are weighty, yet one danger is far greater. The sound outside that makes you tremble is but a shadow of the destruction that threatens a soul asleep in sin. If your heart is rooted in faith, that short word of salvation, confessing Jesus as Lord and believing God raised Him from the dead, is a fortress no noise can breach. But for your friend, the noise is within: the clamor of worldly desire.

She claims poverty yet plans a trip. See here the deceitfulness of riches, even when the purse is empty. It is not the having of money but the love of it that chokes the word like thorns. Her vices, whatever they are, spring from that tangled care for this world. So pray, yes, and let your prayer be steadfast, for God often grants salvation through the cries of the faithful. Yet prayer alone will not suffice. She must be convicted, as you have asked, and who can bring that conviction more powerfully than you, the one who sees her ruin and seeks her good? When the person who yearns for another’s soul speaks the truth, shame itself becomes a medicine. Go to her, not with harshness, but with the gentleness of one who knows his own need for mercy.

Tell her plainly that her trip is a flight toward a pit, and her claimed poverty a blindfold over her eyes. Remind her that the cross of Christ, though it appeared foolishness to the world, is the very wisdom and power of God for those who believe. For her salvation He endured agony, even shrinking from death in His human nature, yet He did not turn back because He saw the deliverance it would bring, a deliverance greater than the exodus from Egypt. If she will but hear, and keep the word in her mind with fortitude, and despise the vain shows of this life, she can be made perfect. She can be saved.

And as for the noises that trouble your night, let them be a spur to prayer, not a snare of fear. Remember that affliction works for comfort and salvation when we endure it with patience. Your hope is secure. The Lord who stilled the storm will guard your soul, and He is able to break the chains of your friend as well. Only do not let the word slip from your heart.

I hear your cry for safety tonight and your deep concern for your friend. When strange noises unsettle us and fears press in, we remember that the Lord alone is our refuge. He sets the lowly on high and guards those who mourn, bringing them to a place of safety. You’ve done the right thing by turning to Him instead of leaning on something hollow that cannot hold. He is not a brook that dries up in the heat; He is faithful.

You’ve also brought your friend before the throne of grace, and there is power in such persistent love. Jesus told of a man who kept knocking at midnight, not because he was a friend, but because of his relentless, shameless asking. I’m not led to simply pray that her vices be stripped away, leaving a vacancy. Rather, let’s pray the prayer of entrance: that the Deliverer Himself would flood her life with His presence. When the true light enters, the darkness has no choice but to flee. Ask boldly that Jesus, the friend who sticks closer than a brother, would meet her not merely with rebuke, but with the faithful wounds that heal.

Don’t lose heart if her path looks confusing right now, shortage of money yet a trip on the horizon. The Lord alone knows the secret dealings of every heart, and He can reach her in ways no human conversation can. He understands her weaknesses and her self-destruction better than she does, yet He loves her in the middle of it. You may feel you cannot pass your own convictions to her, nor should you. But you can intercede until the Spirit declares what is unclean in her life and she esteems it so. True conviction is cultivated in the heart by a friend who will never leave.

So as you wait on the Lord for your own home, and as you press in for her rescue, rest in this: you have a friend who will never desert either of you. Keep bringing your need and your friend’s need straight into His presence. He is not like Job’s miserable comforters, assuming the worst. He gives pity to the afflicted, and He will move in both situations. May you know His protective hand even now, and may your friend soon taste the joy of being truly free.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this time. It has been our heart’s joy to lift your family’s safety before the Lord, asking Him to surround your home with His peace and protection, especially when strange noises or unsettling moments arise. We have also interceded faithfully for your friend, pleading with Jesus to break through the strongholds in her life, to convict her deeply of the truth, and to draw her to Himself before she walks further into harm. We continue to trust that the Holy Spirit is at work, even when we cannot see it.

If the Lord has answered these prayers in any way—if your home has been quiet and secure, or if your friend has shown even the smallest step toward repentance—we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice together. If, however, the concerns remain, please know we are still here to stand with you. Post this request again, and we will join you once more in persistent, believing prayer.

May the Father strengthen your faith as you seek Him, and may His grace sustain you in every circumstance. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
