Disciple of Prayer
Heavenly Father, in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we come before You with humble hearts, asking You to bring unity, peace, and love into every relationship on this earth, from Adam and Eve until the day Jesus Christ comes again. Lord, restore what sin, pride, selfishness, bitterness, fear, and misunderstanding have broken. Teach humanity to treat one another with courtesy, thoughtfulness, patience, gentleness, compassion, humility, and respect. Help us to listen before we speak, understand before we judge, forgive before resentment takes root, and love even when it is difficult. Holy Spirit, produce Your fruit within us—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Let these qualities become visible in our marriages, families, friendships, workplaces, churches, communities, and every relationship between people. Father, increase romance and affection between husbands and wives. Restore laughter in homes. Bring back playful humor, joyful conversation, tenderness, friendship, attraction, and genuine enjoyment of one another. Help couples not merely live beside each other, but truly know, cherish, pursue, and appreciate one another. Lord, strengthen the twelve distinct dimensions of intimacy between humanity: emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual, experiential, recreational, communicational, creative, financial, social, affectionate, and sexual intimacy within the boundaries You designed. Teach us that true intimacy is not simply physical—it is the beautiful connection of hearts, minds, spirits, lives, dreams, experiences, affection, communication, and commitment. Give husbands and wives the desire to work as a team instead of opponents. Help them solve problems together, make decisions together, pray together, laugh together, sacrifice for one another, and celebrate one another. Let no weapon of division destroy what You have joined together. Bring healing between parents and children, brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors, coworkers and employers, leaders and those they serve. Give humanity the humility to say, “I am sorry,” “I forgive you,” “I need you,” “I appreciate you,” and “I love you.” Father, teach us to communicate with truth and grace. Remove harshness, contempt, defensiveness, manipulation, dishonesty, and unforgiveness. Give us wisdom to speak life instead of death, encouragement instead of discouragement, and truth without cruelty. Lord, let laughter return to humanity. Give us clean humor, joy, celebration, dancing, singing, friendship, and moments where people can simply enjoy the gift of being alive. May our laughter never be at someone's pain, but may it become a medicine that brings people closer together. Have compassion on humanity, Lord. Where there is loneliness, bring friendship. Where there is rejection, bring belonging. Where there is hatred, bring reconciliation. Where there is division, bring unity. Where there is fear, bring peace. Where there is abuse, bring protection and justice. Where there is unforgiveness, bring healing. Where there is hopelessness, bring hope. Most importantly, Father, bring salvation to humanity. Draw every nation, every family, every generation, every man, every woman, and every child toward Jesus Christ. Open hearts to repentance. Remove spiritual blindness. Let people encounter Your mercy, Your grace, Your truth, and Your love. Lord Jesus, may humanity understand that our greatest need is not merely better relationships with one another, but reconciliation with You. As we are reconciled to You, teach us to become reconciled with one another. Let the love You commanded become greater than our differences. Let the humility of Christ become greater than our pride. Let forgiveness become greater than our offenses. Let compassion become greater than our judgments. Let unity become greater than division. Father, from Adam and Eve to every generation that has ever lived, and through every generation until Christ returns, restore the dignity, beauty, friendship, covenant, intimacy, teamwork, romance, laughter, and love that You intended humanity to experience. Prepare Your people for the return of Jesus. Let us become a people who love God deeply and love one another genuinely. May marriages become stronger. May families become healthier. May friendships become deeper. May communities become kinder. May workplaces become more respectful. May churches become more united. May humanity become more compassionate. May hearts become more open to Jesus. And when Jesus returns, may He find a people who have learned to love, forgive, serve, communicate, rejoice, and walk together in unity. We surrender humanity into Your hands, Father. Save us. Heal us. Unite us. Teach us. Restore us. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

We join you in this beautiful and comprehensive prayer in the mighty name of Jesus and we agree with you for ### and ### and for every marriage before the Lord.

Your heart to see unity, peace and love restored across every relationship reflects the heart of God. We are encouraged that you have come humbly before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and it is only by His name that we are saved. As it is written, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6.

We stand with you for the sanctity and strength of marriage as God designed it from the beginning. Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will cling to his wife, and they will be one flesh Genesis 2:24. So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart Matthew 19:6. We affirm with you that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, to be held in honor, and we pray that every husband and wife would cherish and pursue one another as Christ loves the church. We also affirm your understanding that true intimacy, including sexual intimacy, is holy and beautiful only within the boundaries God designed within that covenant marriage. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. Any sexual intimacy outside of marriage between a man and a woman is fornication or adultery and falls short of God’s perfect design, and we pray that every couple would walk in purity, faithfulness and self-control.

We love your prayer for the fruit of the Spirit to be made visible in every home and relationship. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control Galatians 5:22-23. We pray that this fruit would abound in the marriage of ### and ### and in every marriage, that husbands would love their wives sacrificially and wives would respect their husbands, that both would bear with one another in love and be eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace Ephesians 4:2-3. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection Colossians 3:14. Love is patient and is kind, love doesn’t envy, doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil, doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.

We pray together now for ### and ### and for every marriage.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up ### and ### to You and we lift up every marriage on this earth. Restore what has been broken by sin, pride, selfishness, bitterness, fear and misunderstanding. Teach us to listen before we speak, to understand before we judge, and to forgive before resentment takes root. Remove harshness, contempt, defensiveness and unforgiveness, and give us wisdom to speak truth with grace, to speak life instead of death and encouragement instead of discouragement. Pour out Your Spirit upon every husband and wife that they would work as a team and not as opponents, solving problems together, making decisions together, praying together and celebrating one another. Increase romance and affection, restore laughter, tenderness, friendship and genuine enjoyment of one another. Help couples not merely live beside each other but truly know, cherish and appreciate one another. Strengthen every dimension of godly intimacy You intended for marriage, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, communicational and physical, and keep sexual intimacy pure and undefiled within the covenant of marriage alone. Bring healing where there is division between parents and children, brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors, and let no weapon of division destroy what You have joined together. Where there is loneliness bring friendship, where there is rejection bring belonging, where there is abuse bring protection and justice, where there is unforgiveness bring healing, and where there is hopelessness bring hope. Most of all, draw every heart to repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ, for our greatest need is reconciliation with You, and as we are reconciled to You teach us to be reconciled to one another. Make us a people who love You deeply and love one another genuinely, prepared for the return of Jesus. We surrender ### and ###, every marriage, every family and all humanity into Your hands. Save us, heal us, unite us, teach us and restore us. Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

We were so encouraged by your prayer for ### and ### and for marriages everywhere. Your heart for unity, peace, laughter and genuine friendship in homes comes through so clearly, and we want to join you in lifting that before the Lord.

What you described about intimacy being more than physical really stayed with us. We have found that all those dimensions you named, emotional, spiritual, communication, affection and the others, grow best when a marriage feels like the safest place on earth. When a husband and wife feel safe with each other, their hearts naturally open. When they feel unsafe, hearts tend to close. Romance, teamwork and even playful humor flourish more easily in that safety.

If it would help, one simple way to nurture that in your own relationships is to make safety a quiet priority this week. You might ask your spouse or a close family member, what is one small thing I do that helps you feel safe and cherished, and is there something that makes you pull back? Listening without defending can itself build trust.

Father, we lift ### and ### to You and every marriage represented in this prayer. Bring healing where there has been hurt, softness where there has been hardness, and unity where there has been division. Teach us to listen well, to forgive quickly, and to cherish one another with patience and kindness. Draw each heart closer to Jesus first, and then closer to one another in the way You designed. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer for the healing of marriages and for the mending of what sin has broken is heard, and it is right to bring such a burden before the throne of grace. Where pride, selfishness, bitterness and misunderstanding have entered, only the Lord can restore, and He is able to do it. As with Peter, who though he fell grievously was not cast away, so the Lord can restore a fallen one by a look of love and by His prevailing intercession. He prays for His own, and He will lift them up again, and make them thereafter more tender, more humble, and more useful in strengthening their brethren.

We rejoice that you desire to see love, joy, peace and all the fruit of the Spirit made visible in homes. Know this, that the unity which is worth keeping is the unity of the Spirit, and it is a unity in the truth of God through the Spirit of God. There is a unity in error which is unity in ruin, and we are not to seek that. But when each heart lives near to Christ, divisions are healed, for divisions in churches and in homes never begin with those who are full of love to the Savior. Chase out of the heart everything which would break the unity which God has established, and let nearness to Christ be your first aim.

Concerning marriage, remember what the Scripture teaches, that it is a covenant union, not of birth but of choice on both sides, cemented by mutual love, wherein the husband and wife become one. God says, I am married unto you, and so He shows us the pattern. A true marriage is not two persons maintaining a cold individuality, but two becoming one flesh under God, to be kept lifelong as one man and one woman have covenanted before Him. Within that holy covenant alone has God placed the gift of sexual intimacy, and there it is pure and blessed. Outside those boundaries it is not love but transgression, and we cannot ask God to bless what He has forbidden. What we do ask is that He will conform every heart and every home to His own design, that sin may be forsaken and holiness pursued.

For ### and ###, and for every marriage, our prayer with you is this. May the Lord teach husbands and wives to listen before they speak, to forgive before resentment takes root, to speak truth with grace, and to put away harshness, contempt and dishonesty. May He increase courtesy, patience, gentleness, compassion and humility, and restore laughter and tenderness where it has grown cold. May He make them to be of one mind, solving problems together, praying together, bearing burdens together, so that no weapon of division may destroy what God has joined. Where there has been failure, may there be the going out as Peter went out, a turning from sin with weeping and repentance, and then the abundant assurance of restoration by the voice of Christ.

Above all, we pray that every soul may understand that our greatest need is not merely better fellowship with one another, but reconciliation with God through the blood of the Lamb. There is no marriage between the soul and Christ except He be received as the Lamb who bore our sin, and there is no salvation in any other. May the Lord draw every man, woman and child to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone, for as we are reconciled to Him, we shall learn to be reconciled to one another. Let the love of Christ be greater than our differences, and His humility greater than our pride.

May the Lord keep you, teach you to walk in His ways, and make your home and every Christian home to reflect the love between Christ and His Church, until He comes.
