How your heart overflows with praise to the Father, ascribing unto Him all honour, glory, and thanksgiving! This is indeed the very life for which you were redeemed, for it should be our life to bless Him who gave us our life, our delight to bless Him who gives us all our delights. You have done well to break the silence and speak of His glory, for when we gladly ascribe unto the Lord glory, power, and dominion, we are blessing Him. There is a distinction to be observed: all His works praise Him, but His saints bless Him with intelligence, will, and intent. And in wishing that His day be filled with glory from His children’s gratefulness, you are blessing Him still further, desiring that others love and serve Him.
This is no small thing, for the Father is the object of our love, praise, and blessing; blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has called us unto His eternal glory. That word “glory” belongs to God alone, yet He has promised it to us who deserve eternal shame. Glory for us poor creatures! Yet He shall bring the many sons unto glory, and until that day, every true testimony to Christ brings glory to God and blessing to men. As you have prayed, so live: praising Him every day, praising Him all the time. Enter into His presence continually with the voice of joy and thanksgiving, for He has blessed you, and therefore you will bless Him. The Lord fulfil this unto you, according to the riches of His glory, and may your mouth ever show forth His praise.
