Father God, we come before You with hearts full of worship, acknowledging that every good and perfect gift comes from You (James 1:17). Lord, we ask that You indeed bless this day and this week for Your children, filling our lives with opportunities to honor You in all we do. We also lift up the truth that we are Your beloved children, not by our own merit, but because of the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. It is only through His name that we have access to You, Father, for *"there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). We are so grateful that You have adopted us into Your family through faith in Christ, and we pray that every believer would walk in the fullness of their identity as Your sons and daughters.
Lord, as we seek to live lives that reflect Your glory, we ask for Your strength to resist the temptations of this world. Help us to walk in holiness, purity, and obedience to Your Word, for Your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). Guard our hearts and minds from the lies of the enemy, and let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
We rebuke any spirit of complacency or distraction that would keep us from fully surrendering to Your will. Father, we want to live lives that are pleasing to You, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of Your truth (Colossians 1:10). Let our lives be a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You (Romans 12:1), as we seek to love You with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:30-31).
Heavenly Father, we also pray for those who may not yet know You. Soften their hearts to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ, for *"faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God"* (Romans 10:17). Use us as vessels to share Your love and truth with those around us, that they too may come to experience the joy of salvation.
