My humble petition and my sincere prayers for my daughter ###, who graduated in ### (###). She is having a very hard time finding a job. Even after applying for more than 100 job openings, she received no calls. Please intercede for my daughter that she gets a job on the cruise ship or any airlines as a ###. Please watch over her, guide and protect her and give her courage and strength to keep applying and not consider herself a failure. Bless all her efforts, and lead her one step closer to her dreams. I asked this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

We hear your heartfelt cry for your daughter, and we join you in lifting her up before the throne of grace. The struggle of joblessness can weigh heavily on the spirit, but we know that our God is a provider and a sustainer. He sees every application sent, every prayer whispered, and every tear shed in frustration. We declare that He is working even when the phone remains silent, for His timing is perfect and His plans for her are good.

The Bible reminds us in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Your daughter is not forgotten, and her efforts are not in vain. We rebuke the spirit of discouragement that seeks to whisper lies of failure into her heart. She is not a failure, she is a child of the Most High God, created with purpose and equipped with skills and gifts that the world needs. We pray that she would stand firm in this truth, clinging to the promise in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."

We also lift up her desire to work on a cruise ship or in the airlines. While these are noble aspirations, we pray that her ultimate fulfillment would come from seeking God’s will above all else. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We ask that God would open the right doors for her, not just any opportunity, but the one that aligns with His purpose for her life. May He guide her steps, direct her applications, and grant her favor with those who are hiring.

We also want to encourage her to remain steadfast in prayer and to seek God’s wisdom in this season. James 1:5 says, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." Perhaps this time of waiting is an opportunity for her to grow in faith, to develop new skills, or to deepen her trust in the Lord. We pray that she would not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, she will reap if she does not faint (Galatians 6:9).

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. We thank You for the gift of Your Son, through whom we have access to Your grace and mercy. Lord, we lift up this precious daughter to You. You know her name, her dreams, and her struggles. We ask that You would open doors of opportunity that no man can shut. Provide her with a job that not only meets her needs but also allows her to use her gifts to glorify You. Give her courage to keep pressing forward, even when the road is difficult. Protect her heart from discouragement and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

We rebuke the enemy’s attempts to steal her hope or convince her that she is unworthy. Your Word says in Psalm 37:25, "I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread." You are her provider, and we trust that You will meet every need according to Your riches in glory. Surround her with godly encouragement, whether through friends, family, or mentors who can speak life into her situation. Help her to see this season as a time of preparation, where You are shaping her character and refining her faith.

We also pray for wisdom for her parents, that they would know how to support her without enabling fear or anxiety. Give them words of comfort and faith to speak over her, reminding her of Your promises. Lord, we ask that You would bless every effort she has made and every application she has sent. Let her resume rise to the top of the pile, and let her interviews be filled with favor. May she walk into every opportunity with confidence, knowing that You are with her.

Finally, we pray that she would draw closer to You in this season. May this time of waiting deepen her relationship with You, so that no matter what job she finds, she would always seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33). We trust that You are working all things together for her good, and we declare that her future is bright because it is held in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

The weight of sending out resume after resume without a single callback can feel crushing, for her, yes, but for you too as you watch her wrestle with discouragement. That so-called failure is a liar, and we are asking God to guard her heart against it.

One thing that can quietly deepen the ache during a long job search is the unspoken belief that God's guidance must arrive as a clear, unmistakable sign, the right opening, the obvious door. When it doesn't show up like that, doubts creep in about whether we missed something or whether we matter to him at all. You might gently ask your daughter what she believes right now about how God leads his people into their callings. Sometimes simply naming that inner tangle, and hearing that his care doesn't hinge on a quick yes, lifts a heavier burden than all the career advice in the world. She doesn't need to untangle it alone.

In the meantime, help her keep one simple rhythm: apply, then release. The constant mental replay of every application only drains the courage you're praying she'll have. She's done the work; now let it rest. And if either of you notice that the rejection is starting to warp how she sees herself, a trusted pastor or a wise older woman in your church might be exactly the right person to speak identity and steadiness back into her spirit during this stretch. You've been her prayer warrior all along, and you don't need to carry it all by yourself either.

Lord Jesus, you see this beloved daughter and the long months of silence. Strengthen her hands to keep knocking while you work behind the scenes. Open what no one can shut and give her eyes to notice the opportunity even when it doesn't look like what she expected. Guard her from despair and fill her with the steady confidence that her worth is anchored in you, not in any employer's response. Hold her parents steady too, we ask, and let them soon celebrate your faithful provision together. In Jesus' name, amen.

You speak of doors of opportunity and I would remind you that the door that matters most stands wide open already. Our Lord Jesus Christ declares, “I am the door.” He is an open door, available for all who will but enter in. When other doors seem shut, this Man’s door is open. The city of the New Jerusalem has gates that are never shut at all by day and there is no night there. Before we plead for earthly openings, let us be certain we have passed through that one true Door, for then all the rich promises are ours: we shall be saved, and we shall go in and out and find pasture.

Yet I hear the ache in your petition for your daughter, and I perceive how easy a thing it is to grow faint when providence seems to delay. The ship that carried Jonah to Tarshish was there waiting at Joppa as if by design, how easy it is to find a vessel bound for the wrong port when our heart is set on fleeing from duty or sinking into despair. But never let us mistake a convenient path for the leading of the thrice-holy God. Perhaps your daughter has applied to a hundred doors and found them bolted fast. That is not proof of failure; it may be the blessed obstruction that keeps her from a voyage to Tarshish when God intends a destination far better. Wait on Him. Do not avail yourselves of opportunities that seem right merely because they appear. The closed door is as much the hand of Providence as the open one.

While you wait, do not cease to open your mouth wide in prayer. It is Jehovah, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, who says, “Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.” Ask something that will be honoring to God to give. A small petition honors only our own timidity, but a large request brings glory to His name. The big gates of His mercy are set wide open for those who come in truth. He has said, “Him that comes to Me I will in no wise cast out.” Do you fear your daughter will consider herself a failure? Then point her not to her own resumé but to the open fountain that cleanses away all uncleanness. If she feels the stain of repeated disappointment clinging to her soul, let her wash again. The fountain is open for the child of God who is growing cold under trial. Let her come and get her spiritual life revived.

You ask also for courage and strength. Know this: there are stores of grace laid up hard by the gates of trial for saints when they come there. You must not expect dying grace in living moments, nor the strength for next week’s battle while today’s sun is still shining. He who provides the manna for the day will provide the courage for the hour. And as for the open evidence of her salvation, how may she know the Lord is near? The open volume of the Word of God is our open evidence. Let her read the promises and say, “If this Book is true, I am a saved soul; my times are in His hand.” Next to that, a life of continued faith and holy perseverance is evidence others can read. But as for understanding all the why and wherefore of these long delays, these are among the sealed things that belong to God. We get as far as the gates of our own understanding, but we cannot pry within. There is a sealed deed in the purpose of Heaven, but the open deed of the promise is given for our comfort now.

Passing through a door is not a difficult operation if the door is open, yet how many sit upon the doorstep as if the threshold were the destination. Your daughter has not come to a dead end; she is on the doorstep of a great mercy, but she must not suppose that mere applications constitute entrance. Prayer, patience, and a quiet resting in the will of God will soon lift the latch. I have seen souls struggle hardest when they carry an enormous load of their own plans upon their backs. Let her set down that burden and wait with a wide-open mouth, and He will fill it in His time. The very doors that seem to stand before her like the shadow of death shall prove to be the entrance to life and pasture. For beyond the grave there is nothing but darkness for him whose heart is set on this world, but for the trusting child there is a door in the shadow, seen only by faith, that swings upon the hinge of a covenant promise. The only door to holiness and to provision is not through Moses, but through Christ. O you who want a path opened, come through the Door. The way to every good gift is through Him alone.

You bring before the church a mother’s heartfelt plea for her daughter, and such love is a mirror of the divine compassion. The trial of unemployment, of a hundred doors closed, weighs heavily. Yet consider: if the devil himself became for Job a cause of crowns, how much more shall this season of waiting become a crown for your daughter if she meets it with faith? No outward setback can injure a soul anchored in Christ. When the sea raged, Christ walked upon it as on solid pavement, showing that even the most unstable elements obey His will. The same Lord who made the waters firm under His feet can open a path for her where no path seems to exist.

The woman of Canaan cried out and was met at first with silence, then with words that seemed to push her away. Yet she pressed on, and her importunity drew forth the Lord’s compassion. So too, let your daughter not grow weary. Pray without ceasing, not limiting prayer to times of convenience. The widow with her persistent pleas, the friend at midnight who would not be silenced, these teach us that persistence in supplication makes the unworthy worthy to receive. Let her knock, and knock again, and deem no effort wasted. For it is not in the number of applications alone that hope lies, but in the posture of the heart that refuses to let go of God.

Remember the Philippians: they were a church of deep love, yet even they had seasons when opportunity to help Paul was lacking, and he did not blame them but trusted the providence of God. In his bonds, he rejoiced that his chains advanced the gospel. So this delay, if borne with grace, can advance her soul. Let her not measure her worth by a swift answer, for the Lord often delays to stretch our faith and make His gift more precious. Encourage her to bind mercy and truth about her neck as a constant ornament. Let her continue in good works while she waits, that her character may shine before others and glorify the Father.

The crafters of this request have prayed in Jesus’ name, and that name is the key to every storehouse of heaven. I join my supplication to yours: that the God who calls the stars by name and numbers the hairs of our heads may guide her to the place He has prepared, whether on sea or in the air, or wherever He appoints. May He grant her courage to rise again after each silence, strength to see herself as His beloved child and not a failure, and the peace that surpasses all understanding while she walks this path. And when the door finally opens, as it surely will in His season, her thanksgiving will ring all the louder for the waiting.

The long silence after a hundred applications is hard to carry, and I do not want you or your daughter to hear that silence as a judgment against her. The book of Job shows how dangerous that conclusion can be. Job’s friends looked at his losses and insisted that such trouble must mean hidden sin. They kept laying guilt on him and calling him a hypocrite. They were wrong. Scripture lets us see what Job could not see: the Lord himself had pointed to Job as a man who feared him and turned away from evil. His suffering was not proof that he had failed God. A long season of closed doors is not proof that your daughter has failed either.

I join you in asking the Lord to open a door for her in the airline or cruise industry. If he has another path in mind, I pray she will recognize it and not miss it while she waits. Ask him to give her courage to keep applying, strength to keep hoping, and protection in every step. But I also pray she will not define herself by the lack of calls, because her worth before God is not measured by a hiring decision. She is not a failure simply because the process is slow. Job did not understand what God was doing, yet he kept crying out to him. In the middle of that confusion he longed for a daysman, someone to stand between him and God and bring him safely through. We know that mediator is Jesus, and through him we can bring every weary, anxious effort to the Father without pretending we have no questions.

So let her keep applying faithfully, but let her also rest from carrying the burden of proving her own worth. God sees what is poured out in a hundred unseen applications. He is not indifferent to any of them. The silence may be painful, but it is not the whole story. Pray with her, ask the Lord for the right door, and trust him even while the answer is still hidden. I will pray that a door opens soon and that she is ready to walk through it with both humility and confidence.
