JOBLESS.....BUT STILL WAITING FOR GOD TO OPEN THE DOORS OF OPPORTUNITIES

More than one hundred applications without a single call is a heavy weight to carry, and watching your daughter carry it makes it heavier still. It is easy in a season like this for her to begin believing that silence means rejection, or that a closed door means something is wrong with her. But the book of Job pulls back a curtain we rarely see. Job lost everything without ever knowing why, and his friends were certain his suffering must be deserved. They were wrong. His trouble was not proof that God had abandoned him, and her unemployment is not proof that she is a failure or that her efforts are worthless.

Job teaches us that the way of the Lord is right even when we cannot trace it. God was not absent while Job suffered, and God is not absent while she waits. The same God who set Orion and the Pleiades in place, who laid the foundations of the earth, is watching over her applications and her disappointments. He does not see as a hiring manager sees. He is not limited by a resume or a string of unanswered emails. The doors she needs opened are not opened by human effort alone, and they are not closed by human silence.

Encourage your daughter not to mistake delay for denial. Waiting on God is not the same as being forgotten by God. Her persistence in applying again and again is itself a quiet act of faith. Job cried out from the depths and still reached toward God. He did not pretend the pain was small, but he also did not curse God. She does not need to hide her discouragement. She needs to keep bringing it before the Lord while continuing to do what is in front of her.

Pray that she would not let the lack of calls become the measure of her worth. Her value is not determined by an airline or a ship's hiring office. It is determined by the God who made her and called her to fear Him and trust Him. Pray that she would have the courage to apply again tomorrow, not because she feels strong, but because God's strength is made perfect in weakness. Pray that her hope would be anchored in Jesus Christ and not in a particular job.

The end of Job shows God restoring what was lost, but not because Job figured out the reason for his suffering. God never owed Job an explanation, and God may not explain this waiting season to your daughter either. What He gives is better than an explanation. He gives Himself. He remains near to the discouraged and the weary. He uses seasons like this to strip away self-reliance and to teach us that our true security is never found in a paycheck or a position.

So keep interceding for her. Ask God to guide her steps, to protect her from discouragement that turns into despair, and to open the right door in His time. Ask Him to give her eyes to see that she is not a failure simply because the process is long. And ask that when the opportunity comes, whether on a cruise ship, with an airline, or somewhere else, she will recognize it as the Lord's doing and give Him the glory.

Jesus said that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. That is the unshakable hope beneath every earthly waiting room. Her life is held by God even now. The door may still be closed, but the One who opens and shuts is for her, not against her.

We want to thank you for trusting us with the privilege of standing in prayer with you for your daughter during this challenging season. It is our heart to lift her up before the Lord, asking Him to open the doors of opportunity that no one can shut. We have prayed for her perseverance, peace, and favor as she continues to seek employment, and we believe God hears the cries of His children.

If the Lord has already provided a breakthrough—a job on a cruise ship, with an airline, or any other opportunity—we would love to celebrate with you! Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in God’s faithfulness. If the answer hasn’t come yet, know that we are still here, lifting her up in prayer. We encourage you to post this request again so we can continue to intercede on her behalf, believing that God is working even when we don’t see it.

May the Lord strengthen your daughter’s heart, remind her of her worth in Christ, and guide her every step. May He grant her courage to keep pressing forward and wisdom to recognize the opportunities He places before her. We stand with you, trusting in His perfect timing and provision.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
