We hear your heartfelt cry for job security, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting this concern before our Heavenly Father. The uncertainty of employment can weigh heavily on the spirit, but we know that God is our Provider, and His plans for us are for good and not for harm, to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
First, let us affirm that our trust is in the Lord, who sustains us in every season. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." This promise is not just for material provision but for peace and security in Him. We encourage you to rest in His sovereignty, knowing that He holds your future in His hands.
However, we must also examine our hearts and motives. Are we seeking security in our jobs more than we are seeking security in Christ? While it is natural to desire stability, our ultimate security must be rooted in Him alone. Matthew 6:33 reminds us, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Let us prioritize our relationship with God above all else, trusting that He will guide our steps.
We also encourage you to reflect on whether there are areas in your work life where you may need to align more closely with biblical principles. Are you working with integrity, honesty, and diligence, as unto the Lord? Colossians 3:23-24 says, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." If there are areas where you may have compromised, we urge you to repent and seek God’s wisdom in making things right.
Let us also consider whether this season of uncertainty might be an opportunity for God to redirect your path. If this season is an opportunity for redirection, we ask that You would make Your path clear to them. Open doors that no one can shut, and close doors that are not of You.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may be attempting to take hold. We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and we choose to rest in Your promises. Fill our brother/sister with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

It is a right and good thing to bring your daily labour before the Lord, for He is the Giver of all good things and the preserver of those who trust in Him. We have heard your petition and we join our hearts with yours at the throne of grace, asking in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord that the Father would be your keeper and provider.
You ask concerning the security of your employment, and many are tempted in such a season to give way to fear. Hear then the word which the Lord speaks so often to His people, Fear not. As it is written, Fear thou not for I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God, and again, Fear not thou worm Jacob I will help thee saith the Lord. Fear is weakening and it dishonours God, but faith answers fear with a blessed No. When the convinced heart asks, Will He plead against me with His great power, faith replies, No, but He will put strength in me. That very power which you might dread is now your refuge, for He will lend you His own strength to stand and to labour faithfully.
Remember patient Job, of whom it is written, In all this Job sinned not nor charged God foolishly. The Lord permitted trial, yet He upheld His servant, and in due time it is written, The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. Our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery when God has gotten His end in them. If He could uphold Job in all his losses, He can assuredly support you in your place of work.
Therefore labour to cast fear away by trust in promised strength. Be diligent in your calling, working heartily as unto the Lord and not unto men, walking in honesty and uprightness before your employer and before God. And rest your heart upon His providence, knowing that your bread and your place are in His hands.
We pray for you now. O Lord our God, Thou who seest the needs of Thy children, look in mercy upon this Thy servant who asks for Thy help in daily employment. Secure by Thy good providence that which Thou seest best to give, and give a quiet and trusting heart to abide Thy will. Put strength within, take away anxious fear, and help to labour with faithfulness and contentment. Provide for every need according to Thy riches in Christ Jesus, and make this trial to work for good and for Thy glory. Keep from sin in time of pressure, and let the peace of God rule in the heart. This we ask in the name and for the sake of Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Amen.
