Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer has been heard and your struggle has been seen, with all the weariness of working long hours in the sun, the disappointment of being passed over for positions you were qualified for, and the pain that comes with AuDHD which makes that work and that heat even harder to bear. God knows the discouragement of doing your work faithfully, not sitting idle on the clock, trying to do what is right and safe while others are allowed to be careless, and still being overlooked. He also knows your desire for work that fits how He has made you, like voice work, and your hope to build something wholesome that could help others who struggle to find employment.

Scripture teaches us to pray with perseverance and not to limit prayer to certain times. Pray without ceasing and watch in perseverance. You remember the Canaanite woman who kept pleading even after she was first refused, and because of her persistence the Lord healed her daughter. You remember the widow who by her importunity moved the unjust judge, and the friend who at midnight kept knocking until his friend rose to help him, and the Syrophoenician woman whose constancy called forth compassion. In the same way, keep bringing your need for work and for a way forward before the Lord again and again. Even when you feel unworthy or unheard, perseverance itself is part of how God shapes us and often how He answers.

At the same time we are called to learn thanksgiving even in hardship. When you are weary of praying and not yet receiving what you ask, look at those who beg and wander with far less, who still give thanks and call God merciful though they have little. You have lost opportunities, you have labored under the sun and under unfair treatment, but you still have health and strength to work and to hope and to pray. Giving thanks does not mean pretending the pain is not real. It means remembering that God withholds or delays not from cruelty as people sometimes do when they ignore the poor, but from mercy and wisdom, doing what is best for us in His time.

Do not measure your worth by whether the zoo chooses you for full time or part time, or by degrees and experience alone. God chose not many who were wise or mighty or noble according to the flesh, but chose ordinary people to receive His wisdom and to carry His work, so that no one could boast in themselves. Your calling and your value are not decided by a hiring committee. What matters is walking worthily of the calling we have in Christ, being raised with Him and seated with Him, even when we were once far off. That calling requires much prayer, much endurance and much perseverance, especially when we are tempted to envy or to become bitter.

I hear your anger toward the former employer who you believe has treated animals cruelly while claiming to be a Christian, and your honest question of why the wicked seem to succeed while good people struggle and why the innocent suffer. It is right to hate cruelty and to love what is good for creation, but it is not right for us to ask God to chain or punish someone in the way you described. Vengeance belongs to the Lord. We can and should pray that those who do wrong will come to repentance, that they will see their sin and turn, and that God will bring true justice in His way and time. It is better to leave judgment to Him and to keep your own heart from being hardened by hatred, lest that same bitterness keep you from the kingdom. If we offer to God what has been gained by injustice, He does not accept it, and those who store up wrongdoing store up greater judgment for themselves unless they repent.

Your desire to create wholesome Christian entertainment and to provide work for people who are often overlooked, including your friend who also struggles to find steady work while living with his parents, is a good and compassionate desire. Keep that desire before the Lord, and use the gifts you have now with diligence and honesty. Continue to be faithful in small things, to seek wise counsel about your business idea, to develop your skills in voice and puppetry step by step, and to honor your parents even as you seek to help them understand your disability and your limits. God can open doors that seem statistically unlikely, as you have seen before with your college acceptance, but He also works through steady faithfulness over time.

Let us pray together.

Lord Jesus Christ, You see this Your servant who is weary from labor in the heat and from disappointment in seeking work. Have mercy and grant perseverance in prayer and a thankful heart even in trial. Provide for daily needs, guide every application and interview according to Your will, and open the right door for employment, whether full time or part time or in a new field, only as long as it serves Your good purpose. Give wisdom to parents and to all who do not understand the burden of AuDHD, and grant them compassion and understanding. Comfort the friend who also seeks work and feels stuck, and provide for him. Turn the hearts of those who act cruelly toward Your creation, bring them to repentance, and establish Your justice. Keep this Your servant from bitterness and envy, and help him to walk worthily of Your calling, to use his gifts for what is good and wholesome, and to trust Your mercy when answers are delayed. Grant endurance, peace, and hope in Your promises. In Your name we ask, Amen.
